Does alcohol diminish the effectiveness of Amox Clav 875?

Hi Rudy,

According to a medical news article I read, "Drinking alcohol while taking these tablets does not usually cause any problems. However, some people who drink alcohol while taking antibiotics similar to amoxycillin and clavulanic acid have experienced adverse effects."

Aside from the typical side effects, I would personally suggest taking it easy on the alcohol for the sole reason that alcohol can be hard on your liver. You want your body's immunity to be at full force when attacking the infection. My theory is if your body is working hard at metabolizing fatty foods, alcohol, or any other substances that aren't "clean", then it's not going to be nearly as efficient when it comes to fighting an infection.

Anyone else have thoughts or opinions on this?
