I am taking Bactrim DS for an infection cellulitis due to a cut on my leg. Is this the right antibiotic given to me? ## Hi Marie, Based on my research, Bactrim DS is used for treating cellulitis infection. If I can recommend anything else to help the healing process, it would be to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and look into supplements that will boost your immune system. A good anti inflammatory supplement is Echinacea Goldenseal. Also, Tea Tree and Lavender essential oils are very good for skin related infections because they are anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. If you decide to try any of my suggestions, make sure you do plenty of your own research! I hope this helps!

I took one dose of this drug for a cat bite. I took it with food as prescribed. During the night I had extreme stomach pain so bad I thought I was going to have to go the er. Then I had diarrhea with blood. I was so scared. I called my physician in the am to tell her what happened but by that time it had cleared up. She had one other patient this happened to after one dose. What is this pill for. 1/2 blue and 1/2 light blue with Mylan 6050 on it. ## I haven't found an exact match for this pill, but many other Mylan capsules have come very close to your description; leading me to think that the numbers "6050" might be off. Is there any way you can confirm this? If not, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer (Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc.) directly on mylan.com to see which of their products this might be. I have a cough, wheezing chest and congestion, I've been taking OTC cold and cough for 3 days with no luck curing this condition. I have some Amox/K Clav 500mg left over form an other infection...will this work on what I now have? ## Hi Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Amox/ K Clav (Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium) will only help if the cough you are experiencing is caused by an upper respiratory infection. You could take the medication, but if it doesn't work the cough probably just needs to run its course. Amoxicillin? ## Hmmm, the closest thing I found (but it is a blue colored capsule) is Sandoz 663 which also happens to be an antibiotic. What I'm describing is Cefdinir 300mg (NDC 0781-2176). Can Sulfamethoxazole Trimethoprim 800 160 Tabs Be Given To Cattle and at what dosage? ## I have to apologize for not having all of the information you've asked for, but I'm not a veterinarian and have not studied the use of medications in animals. since i am allergic to pencilin, before i start a course of amoxicillin, i want to know is amoxicillin a pencilin. ## Yes it is a pencilin. ## They are in the same antibiotic family, most people that are allergic to Penicillin don't end up having a problem with Amoxicillin, but it's usually wisest not to risk and to just go with a different class of antibiotic. can this be used for cold sores ## The antibiotics in it, the Polymyxin B and the Oxytetracycline aren't really going to help, if that's what you're looking for, because cold sores are caused by a virus, not a bacterial infection. I have viral fever, and i took 2 doses of ceftas 200mg tablet, but later i found that it would be not any helpful so i did not take any further dose of ceftas 200mg .Now my fever has gone , but i could not eat or drink much anything, is it any kind of bad affects for not completing the antibiotic course? ## there are different types of bacterial infections possible. My doc recently prescribed me Ciprox 500 mg for a bladder infection. I started to feel improvement but then on the 3rd day it was getting worse again. I was about to call my doctor when he actually contacted me to say that he needs to prescribe me Nitrofur because my lab work came back positive for an E Coli infection. Any idea why he didn't just prescribe the Nitrofur from the beginning? According to my research the Cipro should be able to treat both types of infection. I have the problem of motion fast with sticky stool. Doctor suggested me O2 tablet.
