I am taking Bactrim DS for an infection cellulitis due to a cut on my leg. Is this the right antibiotic given to me? ## Hi Marie, Based on my research, Bactrim DS is used for treating cellulitis infection. If I can recommend anything else to help the healing process, it would be to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and look into supplements that will boost your immune system. A good anti inflammatory supplement is Echinacea Goldenseal. Also, Tea Tree and Lavender essential oils are very good for skin related infections because they are anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. I took one dose of this drug for a cat bite. I took it with food as prescribed. During the night I had extreme stomach pain so bad I thought I was going to have to go the er. Then I had diarrhea with blood. I was so scared. I called my physician in the am to tell her what happened but by that time it had cleared up. She had one other patient this happened to after one dose. What is this pill for. 1/2 blue and 1/2 light blue with Mylan 6050 on it. ## I haven't found an exact match for this pill, but many other Mylan capsules have come very close to your description; leading me to think that the numbers "6050" might be off. My doc recently prescribed me Ciprox 500 mg for a bladder infection. I started to feel improvement but then on the 3rd day it was getting worse again. I was about to call my doctor when he actually contacted me to say that he needs to prescribe me Nitrofur because my lab work came back positive for an E Coli infection. Any idea why he didn't just prescribe the Nitrofur from the beginning? According to my research the Cipro should be able to treat both types of infection.
