was told when a kid, that im allergic to pennacilan.does anyone ever outgrow this condition? also-are there typical symptoms of pennacilan ingestion by someone who is allergic to it? ## Hello, William! How are you? Yes, people can sometimes 'outgrow' allergies, or even develop new ones. However, don't just randomly try some Penicillin to find out, it's likely best if you just stay away from it. It is an antibiotic that requires a prescription, so it's not like you're going to just randomly run into. You're doctor would have to diagnose you with an infection and tell you that need an antibiotic. And if that happens, there are many others you can take to avoid worrying about the allergy and what may happen with it. An antibiotic allergy can include an itchy skin...

My mother was given nitro furmac as result of several UTI infections year after year. Thinking the UTI was worsening and meds weren't working just yet, we didn't realize what was happening. She actually became non-responsive and had a stroke. All due to reaction of nitro furmac. Now on bactrim daily as a preventive antibiotic for infections. Not a concern in over a year. ## Hi George, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's terrible experience with Nitrofurantoin. Although both medications have a long list of undesirable side effects, there's really no way of knowing ahead of time how you might react to one or the other until its too late. However I'm glad to hear that you were still able to pinpoint the problem none the less. May I ask how long she's been...

Ip 272. Is a generic for Bactrim DS. Treats all symptoms listed from other comments. The one thing everyone forgot to mention is that it also treats moderate to severe acne and cystic acne. Amazing how my skin cleared up since I have been using the drug. Remember to take In morning and night, preferably with food if you have a sensitive stomach, and plenty of water. I noticed after taking the drug for awhile that I did have joint pain, but other than that it works amazing.. ## @Fiat, It may help with acne as an off-label use, but the only problem I see that could stem from long term use is that, without having an actual infection to treat, this could create antibiotic resistance to the point where if you did have an infection it may end up becoming much more difficult to eradicate than ...

Can this salve be used on your lips? ## Hello, Henry! How are you? This is an antibiotic ointment, so it should only be used if you have a topical skin infection as diagnosed and directed by your doctor. I'd say to stay away from using it on your lips, unless your doctors says it is safe to do so, since it's not formulated for such use and may be dangerous to ingest. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I am taking Amox-clav 875 mg and also taking Omeprazole 20 mg.is there any interaction between these two drugs? Does omeprazole decreases the effectiness of antibiotic? Also taking prednisone 10mg.pls let me know. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? There are no interactions or problems listed, it's usually with the calcium containing antacids, since they can coat your stomach and prevent absorption of the antibiotics. However, if you wish to be sure, you should take them about 2 hours apart, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. This antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is amox-clav 875 still good if the used by date 6-18-14? ## Hello, LAS! How are you? Medications tend to degrade over time and become less effective, storage conditions can also play a role in that. When it comes to antibiotics, any lessening of efficacy creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, so it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and non-allergic skin rash. Is there anything else I can help with?
