Hi I am currently taking macrodantin but since I have started taking it I have severe itching problems. So I got an infection on my leg. They gave me Sulfameth(Bactrim) I was on it for 7 days. This morning at 4am i took my last pill. It's now 11:14. From what I could gather, this antibiotic is not FDA-approved for veterinary use. However I have read about several cases of veterinarians still prescribing Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim DS for cats and dogs... Pigs on the other hand, I have no idea. But what I would recommend doing is disclosing all of your animal's medication history to the veterinarian in order to better determine whether Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is the most appropriate form of treatment. Hi, since early I was suffering from sinus and otitis media, every time they give me terramycin drops and I do well till I reached 16 years. Since that time I had never have otitis media again.
