I have a 4 month old standard poodle that has a trace go blood in her urine. (confirmed by a human u/a strip borrowed from an adult clinic). I have a few macrobid 100 mg capsules left over from a previous UTI will it be safe to give to her until I can get to the vet on Wednesday? She is approx. 35 lbs. Will 100mg be too much for her little tummy and what are the risks involved if I do/ don't treat her now? Thanks for any advice, Mom of a poodle

i was perscribe nitrofurantoin for two and a half weeks. During all this period i suffered of leg muscle cramps, nausia, and general bad feeling. A day after I finished taking the medication, I had palpitations with heartbeat of 175 per minute. Can this be a side affect of the medicine? ## it is definately a side effect. nitrofurantoin has actually made me feel worse than the uti it is treating! i have awful nausea, tight chest, muscle aches, fatigue, and my heart feels like it is constantly racing! i will never take this medicine again. ## Have either of you contacted your respective doctors? My friend is suffering after taking this medication. Fever, severe aches in all joints, extreme headache, diarrhea, complete fatigue. Went to doc twice that ran tests for 2 hours with no clue. Macrobid has horrible side effects, I experienced hives, burning in chest, throat, joint pain, fever, chills, nausea, sleeplessness,cough and head pain. I will never take this drug again. ## I am having hte same reaction. How long did your symptoms last? I took half a bactrim 3 hours ago. Can I change to doxycycline now? I have a rash on my hands. My dog was itching yesterday and I gave it an oatmeal bath but i did not wear gloves. Hi I was on purbac for a month for prevention of pnuemonia. During this time I had fever reoccurring. Hi i'm 17 weeks pregnant at the clinic they gave anaerobyl 200 and amoxicillin trihydrate 500mg to treat vaginal infection, they said i should take every tablet 3 times per day, so should i take them all 6 of them a day and is the dosage safe ## Hello, Dinny! ive got a uti had it for a week now but not felt too bad, but to the drs Thursday for some antibiotics she gave me nitrofurantion 4 50mg daily for 7 days soon as I started taking them I felt ill... Really bad fatigue to the point I want to sleep all day headaches acid feeling sick & achy muscles just wondering when this will stop I feel 10 times worse then before I started taking them. ## Hello, Jade! I am taking clindamycin 300 mg TID for a skin infection. Since starting this medication, I have noticed an increase in saliva production, stomach/digestive issues and a loss of appetite.
