I took double dose of prednisone 60mg in one day 9 hours apart for sinus infection. Should I be worried? ## I was given a 24 hr prednisone shot yesterday to help with my tight chest and coughing. They prescribed 60 mg for 3 days as I had been taking 40mg 2 days prior. I would like to split the dosage so I don't cough at night. I am also taking albuterol in a nebulizer every 4 hrs as the inhaler was not working as good as the treatments in the doctor's office. Can I split the dosage to 30mg twice daily so I can get relief from coughing while trying to get some sleep? I attend a methadone clinic and twice in a row now I have tested positive for opiates when I haven't done any. I've taken some prescription drugs and through some research I've concluded that it was the prednisone that caused it. The good thing is my counselor is going to advocate for me to get my urine retested for free instead of having to pay the $45. So hopefully this may help someone because they also found false positives for other drugs from ppl taking prednisone. ## How can I prove this to my counselor? Since Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is also an anti-inflammatory, NO, they should not be used together. It would be doubling up on the same type of medication and can be dangerous. I don't have a lot of details on this, but it appears that the Tramazoline was found to cause hypertension in people using it. I am on vacation in Mexico. I have an awful wet cough and asthma symptoms. I have had this before and been medicated with Antibiotics, 5 mg prednisone and mucinex and albuterol. I started Zithromax and mucinex for 3 days the added 1 tab of prednisone 5mg. A couple hours later I had an allergic reaction.
