Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 60)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
If you can help i'd be thankful....
(Quick back story)
Been on adderall for almost a year or so, switched pharmacies a few times....(reasons I moved) picked up script yesterday I'm prescribed two 30s. A day, been getting the pink round cor pharm for some months that worked for me, only chest pain often, dry mouth, but had my good energy I needed and motivation.....
Well yesterday as I went to CVS picked up my script not thinking s*** till getting home see they were the orange oval Teva footballs, as I've read about differences before I filled this, just never dawned on me to check before. Well after taking my dose I felt tired, yawning, chills, absolute No energy, non social...after seeing these are the # 1 sought out generic, I couldn't even understand this. My question to u is, does it take a few days to actually feel like I'm suppose to with energy, motivation, or is it true that fillers that differ had switched to whatever teva uses, and that's my problem? I've seen so many back an forth, some say cor pharm and a lot say teva, it varies...
Today is my second day taking footballs and I feel actually a bit better but day one dose was terrible....changing generics people are bound to feel changes at 1st, but should adjust right and be on track??
I've also heard that the fillers don't effect most, only sensitive folks. I'm also prescribed one 12mg strip a day along with the 60mg Addie...I've looked all over the net prob my third time back to this page...any input?
Thanks man.
When I went to Costco they told me there would be two different pills in the bottle one Sandoz and one Teva. I told him I did not want that and I wanted only Sandoz. He explained the reason behind that was Sandoz cost more to them and they needed to go with the cheapest.
Wow dude i feel horrible!!!
Point blank prior script to this one filled today, was pink cor pharm. It was my lets go s***... it worked
Today, went to cvs, got orange oval, TEVA footballs, was stoked to try them. I am stuck now googling the F*** out of this s***, prescribed two 30s a day, took one, waited, was worried so I took an extra becuz I know what one pink does to me....from all I see it's the fillers, and how the fillers affect each person, but what frustrates me, is ToNs of post say that without a Question, football oranges are wayyyy more effective, hour after taking 60mg the footballs, I'm yawning, sluggish, just have a small headache coming on, tired, cold chills....WTF is going on!!!
Wahhhhh, I'm panicking now to have faith in finding a post that says, it takes a day or two for the bad to adjust an just give me the energy i need!!!
ANYBODY PLEASE, since today Is first day I switched from pink to orange football, after adjusting to it will this feeling go away???
Or should I really try switching back or to an alternative option, done mad research and the #1 preferred is these footballs but is this after a few days starting?....god man I am really frustrated right now.
Before last months pinks cor, my first script was orange round aero bindo..worked ok, I don't remember if it took days to adjust like this, only filled it a few hours ago, so am I jumping the gun???
Please....anyone....any input...
Do u have an update?? I am so fed up with this crap and I'm in fear of losing my job becuse all if a sudden NOTHING works anymore. CVS is my top choice (closest to me, many around my area).
My psy doctor wrote me several prescriptions for my Adderall giving me 3 or 4 to see if it was tolerable. By doing that I was able to see that I definitely could not take Core, it shot my blood pressure up immediately. The with Aurobindo it did not seem I took a stimulant period. That left me with only Teva pill logo B 974. I could take it but I never experienced a clear mind nor could focus on anything. Now he has written Name Brand which will be Teva but with an almost 300.00 increase I hope it works differently than their generic. My last option is Sandbox generic which at this time is unavailable in my town. After that, if it fails the only choice I have is to go back on Shire 30mg XL. I know that works but it has a long lingering effect of not being able to sleep.
I am a RN also and have been taking this to control my ADD. Well no surprise I am out of control....all reading this need to understand the previous nurse's post and read up on the new FDA Generic User Fee Amendments of 2012. USA is about to be flooded yet again with more generics licensed to sell per FDA...(ANDA)....(GDFA)...these are important terms to be familiar with in these new and very unfamiliar times...insist your MD writes the manufacturer or brand name...or it's a crap-shoot...what about our geriatric population...or our children ...so scary!
Here's the thing. I'm a nurse, ive researched everything up to date about generic amphetamine salt combo as i have been taking this medication for over 17 years. I have been the ringer of generics and honestly the FDA does a horrible horrible job on maintaining their regulations to oversee or fail to understand drug compounds and how inactive ingredients and binders vary from manufacture to manufacture and the reason some generics work better or worse depends on the patient because yes, the drug must have the same route, dose, bioequivalence, clinical equivalence, In order for the FDA to approve a generic drug. The 90% confidence intervals (CIs) for generic drug levels must be between 80%-125% for AUC (area under the time-concentration curve) and Cmax (peak plasma concentration) of the reference (branded) drug. This does NOT mean that concentrations of the branded and generic drug differ by 20% as i have seen many post that number so please research before you post bull s*** that people believe because well why wouldnt they when you pretend to sound like an expert. If drug concentrations differ by about 10%, the CIs will fall outside of range and will not be able to go on until it falls under 10 percent. with all the excipients of a generic color coat, fillers, binders aka inactive differ and some patients have an intolerance or allergy to one of the excipients in a generic, therefore counter act and the drug will not work well FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU HAVE A LACTOSE INTOLERANCE GUESS WHAT ONE OF THE INACTIVE BINDERS IS? LACTOSE!! the fact that this is not considered a significant factor to inform patients about is unacceptable and out of date with modern day regulation and FDA needs to do their job so that every generic is the same or has this info provided to patients and give them an alternative generic to choose from.. im sick of constantly being anxious to go to my pharmacy and without warning decide to start buying from different manufacture and act like this shouldnt matter. CVS has changed it four times since i have started taking it. thats why my doc has to specify the manufacture on my prescription and by law the pharm has to order from that manufacturer but it take days to get it. screwing me over. and when a pharmacy carries the same manufacturer for years then one day just decides to change that and doesnt inform you as a patient ..is bulls*** and should inform their patients of changes so that if necessary, can drop off a script early so that its ready for me by the time i need it...
ditto. Pharmacist filled partial with sandoze adderall n the balance with teva. Teva is the worst! I let Pharmacy know a few months ago when sandoze adderall orange tablets were on back order tht it wasnt working 4 me, yet they filled it with teva oval 30 mg peach tablets and keep telling me when it comes off back order they will fill script with sandoze...meanwhile am wondering why sandoze brand is on back order again within 3 months?
I wanted to know what people think about generic adderall made by Ranbaxy/Sun Pharma (COR 135 for the 20 mg tablet). Is it an inferior product compared to Teva?
Thanks!
As of this time my prescription is at a Rite Aid Pharmacy where they are ordering the name brand Adderall 30mg IR. Shire is the one who told me that Teva was producing the name brand instant release. Not absolutely positive but believe the NDC is 57844-130-01 with pill logo dp 30. There had better be something different between that and the one with pill logo B-974 because it will have a price increase of over two hundred dollars.
Those fillers you speak of is the main culprit as to why these medications are working differently in so many people. That is why we are having the problems. When a manufacturer has clinical trials they aren't testing with all the different additives that generic companies are using to make their version of the medication. If they did they would find the reason right away as to why there are so many different responses to the same med. Take Wellbutrin for example Consumer Lab distributed an article that proved the medicine was not working in the generic form. The FDA pulled that particular companies version from the market. It also gave the name of the psy doctor who had been tracking his patients and found they had been stable on their medication for over 12 years only to have the generic version come along and the patients were struggling.
Check under specialty meds. Not positive but I believe the NDC code for brand IR is 57844-130-01; pill imprint dp 30. Pharmacist says brand and generic from Teva has same ingredients and formula. I have brand ordered but cost is over 200.00 difference.
Shire informed me that TEVA does make the brand name adderall I R. At this time Rite Aid has ordered it for me and I checked with the FDA and they advised a brand name was registered with them. I am taking their generic form at this time. It has the pill logo of B 974. It is not working. The pharmacist told me that the formula is the same as the generic so I want know if it is going to work or not. My psy doctor will tell you quickly the generics are not working and causing bad side effects for his patients. A company called Consumer Lab published an article about their investigation was responsible for the FDA pulling Wellbutrin and having the formula changed to a better standard. Generics are different and you just have to try multiple manufacturers to find one that works best for you.
Talk2him -- Your Post 194 addresses a post by Kim. Who is Kim?
Kim...who are you to tell a person why their medication is not working? That is just silly. Who do ya work for? FDA or Teva. People are losing jobs, homes, cars because they are receiving a pharmaceutical product that is not effective in control of indications for use. Teva has been doing this for years..it is all over the media. Please don't minimize another persons pain/frustration with a pharmaceutical system that allows manufactures to do their own independent testing...the FDA is not regulating them..they regulate themselves. This is a dangerous problem that deserves prompt attention
FYI, generic drugs MUST have the same amount of the active ingredient that was in the brand name drug. Most people think the +/- 20% deviation (or thereabouts, % differs depending where you are reading) everyone hears about refers to the active ingredient(s) in a drug. However, this deviation refers to bioavailability, and all generics have to prove their generic drug is +/-20%, or whatever %, of the brand name drug to be approved by the FDA. Fillers and other inactive ingredients can vary from the brand name drug, but that's it.
Hi Eveyone, another ADD person who filled a prescription for generic Adderall this week which does not work. This was for the 20mg pill. Filled at Walgreens, Teva product....has always worked for me up until this year. I made my 3rd complaint to the FDA last night. This is a very unsure time for pharmaceuticals in the USA...scary!..I can feel the slip...cannot focus, can't stay on track, difficult to complete any tasks...People suffer, families fall apart, shame on Teva and shame on the FDA...people reading this should google Teva/FDA/Wellbutrin. I have had 3 bad/ineffective prescriptions since March 2016 :(
Shire makes ---XR--. They do not make any Adderall generic IR products.
Although Teva was, at one time, producing brand name Adderall IR (as well as manufacturing a generic under the same name), as of 4/1/16 Teva no longer produces "Brand Name" Adderall. To that end, I do not know who does, or if it has been discontinued.
Teva continues to make generic Adderall IR.
This particular group does not seem to like the Teva version, but a majority do...
Teva generic Adderall IR was rated #1, followed by Corepharna (2) and Sandoz (3)
Obviously, I prefer Teva....I find Corepharma to be very, very weak.
However, something (that perhaps I have only noticed) concerning the actual size of the Teva 30mg pill *I have these.
Is it just me, or are the tablets smaller in size/circumference than 3 or 4 years ago (When Teva purchased Barr)?
Teva's brand name of Adderall has a pill logo of dp 30 under specialty medications. The generic version logo is B 974. That one appears to be the old Barr version. I could be wrong but Shire advised Teva had the name brand I R.
