I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

Everyone reacts differently (besides to the new crapy Teva formula - no one has liked those). But I have to disagree with the last post; Core generic adderall is one of the worst out there at least for me. I get crazy heart racing and sweating if I'm not moving. I still swear by Sandoz and I'm so lucky that I have the option to purchase those from a small pharmacy and not a major chain.

Dear Blair, I suggest you ask for the manufacturer Impax labs generic Adderall when you go to a pharmacy. Impax labs make it through its generic division 'Global Pharma' and is then packaged by Corepharma. Their generic is very good (I am talking about the 20mg round tablet marked COR 135 ndc 64720-0135-10). I also had troubles with Teva. Too many side effects although I only used it for less than a month. With Corepharma instead, I had some troubling side effects the first 10-14 days. After then, the only (very) minor side effect I experience is cold fingers and feet. However, I do not use it every day but rather Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday (occasionally Sunday afternoon if I am busy at work). I take a 20mg tablet at 8am and a 10mg (split a 20mg tablet in half) at 1pm. Sometimes if I am very busy I would take another 10mg at 3pm. At least here in Massachusetts, we are allowed to ask pharmacists what maker of generic Adderall they have, and the majority of them are very sympathetic to the fact that different people like a manufacturer better than another. I have felt insane these last two months. I've lost my job over this whole formula switch in these Teva football POS pills! I was SO off my game as a bookkeeper that they let me go because i couldn't keep up. I spoke to walgreens and they treated me like I was crazy or like i was an addict. I brought it up to my doctor who has prescribed adderrall to me for 10 years and she treated me as if i just asked her to write me a pain pill script or something. For christs sake i was going to her for help because something has felt off the last few refills; like i wasn't on medication at all. her answer was that if i would just purchase the name brand product then i wouldn't have these problems. This problem is real! and it's obviously serious enough that it can affect a persons income and their personal relationships or even just how they function each day.

I have been taking the Barr DEXTROAMPHETAMINE SULFATE 15mg brown and clear capsules for a few years for narcolepsy. On 9/21 I filled my rx at Walgreens as usual and thought it was kinda cool I got a full bottle, completely sealed, of a different brand: Actavis distributed by Mayne. I took them for about 2-3 weeks and then messaged my doctor and told her how they seemed like they weren't working. I hoped she might have insight or advice but just told me "I can't help where you fill your rx". When I went to pick up my script that day I got hit with a random U/A which was ok.

Interestingly enough the results were negative for my narcolepsy med, the DEXTROAMPHETAMINE SULFATE. I did come up positive for the pain medication. We will see how this plays out but this confirmed to me that either the new brand generic doesn't have any of the active ingredient, or it's failing to dissolve. (There were over 600,000 bottles recalled this spring for this reason, failing dissolution standards.) I went to walgreens and told the pharmacist, dressed in church clothes for what it's worth, and she said "those were a different lot/batch.(like these couldn't be bad too) and that my body must not metabolize them correctly. (patient error/fault) love it. Now as far as what to do about this, I have no clue. Already checked walmart and they carry the same thing. Suggestions/Answers appreciated.

If you go to the FDA website you can print off and complete a Consumer Marketwatch form and send it in about this. I have filled it out. Now I must fax it in! Good luck and God Bless!

It's the other way around Teva bought Barr, but I feel your pain about being looked at as a drug seeker. I am one of the lucky few who's dr is actually aware of the problem going on with most of the generics out there and it's not just adderall. Hopefully they will change the formula back to the original but I doubt it because it's probably cheaper than the other. And all big pharma cares about is their bottom line.

I've noticed the same thing. I've been taking adderall for over 15 yes. Never had a problem until over a yr ago when I started getting teva combo instead of the original Barr. I asked almost every pharmacy in my city what was going on and no one knew anything, couldn't give me an answer until a CVS finally told me teva was a smaller lab bought out by Barr and now making this formula cheaper! I have know idea what I'm going to do as far as being able to work, drive, or anything else. I am very worried. Wondering if this doesn't get corrected, will I have to file for disability. This last month, the pills looked thinner than they had been. Thought maybe they corrected the formula but it is even worse. I feel lost, confused. And if I talk to any pharmacist or doctor, they immediately start talking to me like I'm a drug addict. I just want to scream how discriminating that is. I've been on the same prescription since I was 15 years old. Nothing else. I get drug panels every 3 months! Go through hoops every month to just to get my prescription filled. If I was a drug addict, I wouldn't be bother with this mess.

So glad to find your post. I've been taking Mallin Dex 10 mg. IRs ever since Adderall XR went to the dogs (deliberate, as we all know). Suddenly, the Mallin is now little more than a diet pill. I've taken 40 mg.: NOTHING. This is only since getting my last Rx filled. Tabs look the same, but what a joke! We need to go after these people. You seem to know a lot more than most about shrinking amounts of active ingredients. Any more to say? Thanks!

I disagree. Mylan are bad along with most of the other medications made by that manufacturer. Teva/Barr were always great till recently, I miss the old Barr formula so much. But luckily I found a rare small pharmacy a few towns over from my house that can order Sandoz which is not the case if you are stuck filling your stuff at a chain store.

I have had same problem. My psy gave me enough scripts to check out four brands. Although the Teva B 974 30mg barley even wake you up out of the four it was the least harsh for rapid heart beat and trembling. I just have to add an extra little piece to keep it working at all. No clear mind. Please do a med watch report. Another thing I am starting to have allergic reactions to all generic medication. Dr. Just wrote script for Dexedrine but I have no idea what manufacturer is the better one.

I noticed they are harder to break than before.
Very little effect. I was confused and thought maybe my tolerance went up all of a sudden.

I agree! This is so watered down that a 20 mg dose that used to last about 6 hrs, lasts about 2 hrs??

Teva has been changed. My pharmacist told me the company including the name were sold. He described my symptoms: tired, queasy, no energy. He said he has reported 25 cases to the FDA. I have taken them for years & I noticed right away. Will try Cora Pharma. But the old Teva is no more.

My pharmacist has ordered Sandoz brand generic 20 mg IR tablets for me for the last 5 years. At my last visit she informed me that the manufacturer has discontinued production of these.

Made complaint with FDA about football shape orange oval 30mg IR ...

Two weeks to go, no new updates damn....

I even take 3,000mg of antacid calcium supplement 10mins prior to my dose, with this teva bullahit I must take my full daily dose at once 60mg (30mg/twice daily) an even with the antacid it works for maybe 45mins

Going back to pinks, seems they love switching formulas an ripping is patients off any chance they get

Anyone please make complaint with FDA about problems, takes 5mins. We must stand up or nothing will change !

Hello everybody. I live in Boston MA, 40 years old, male. I have been taking Global pharma generic adderall 20mg XR for the past couple of months, and I take it 3-4 days a week in the morning (it works reasonably well though the effect is sometimes inconsistent). I am also on Wellburtin 150 mg XL once daily in the morning which is working quite well in my opinion. My doctor wants me to try the immediate release tablets because I do not really want to take the XR everyday, and some days I could do with some adderall only in the afternoon. I read that there are many manufacturers of generic adderall out there, and that they tend to be very different from each other in terms of efficacy, side effects, etc. I am wondering if I should give the instant release tablet a try and if so which manufacturer should I go for (I may even tell my doctor to write DAW on the prescription). Thanks for your help everybody!!

I have the orange football shaped 30 mg. They do not clear the brain fog and you want get a Major boost of energy. If you want the clear focus and energy you may have to go to the original manufacturer Shire even though they only produce
the XL version they work.

If you can help i'd be thankful....

(Quick back story)

Been on adderall for almost a year or so, switched pharmacies a few times....(reasons I moved) picked up script yesterday I'm prescribed two 30s. A day, been getting the pink round cor pharm for some months that worked for me, only chest pain often, dry mouth, but had my good energy I needed and motivation.....

Well yesterday as I went to CVS picked up my script not thinking s*** till getting home see they were the orange oval Teva footballs, as I've read about differences before I filled this, just never dawned on me to check before. Well after taking my dose I felt tired, yawning, chills, absolute No energy, non social...after seeing these are the # 1 sought out generic, I couldn't even understand this. My question to u is, does it take a few days to actually feel like I'm suppose to with energy, motivation, or is it true that fillers that differ had switched to whatever teva uses, and that's my problem? I've seen so many back an forth, some say cor pharm and a lot say teva, it varies...

Today is my second day taking footballs and I feel actually a bit better but day one dose was terrible....changing generics people are bound to feel changes at 1st, but should adjust right and be on track??

I've also heard that the fillers don't effect most, only sensitive folks. I'm also prescribed one 12mg strip a day along with the 60mg Addie...I've looked all over the net prob my third time back to this page...any input?
