BAD NEWS I am afraid. Watson 933 Pill Image This one is Acetaminophen 325mgs and Oxycodone 7.5mgs, a narcotic pain killer, very dangerous for someone to be playing with, especially if they are not prescribed for them and they have not previously taken heavy narcotics. Cor 103 Pill Image Annother bad one, though I am sure you are not surprised by now. This is Carisoprodol 350mgs, a generic for the muscle relaxant Soma. These are all dangerous drugs to be messing around with and using if they are not prescribed for you. I am assuming that you know these were not prescribed for him, or you would n...

I have breast cancer that spread to my bones. For awhile now I've been taking norco 10's. They aren't working as well as they used to...so my question is what would be the next step up for pain control? I have a dr appt in a few days and was wondering what he might put me on? ## Hello, Hootsie! How are you? I am very sorry about your medical condition and that you're in so much pain. It's hard to guess what your doctor might recommend, but there is a time released formulation of Hydrocodone that's available, without the Acetaminophen, in higher doses, so if it works well for you, that might be the way to go. It's called Zohydro. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, ...

I am about to kick opioids. How long do I wait before I can take a sub? I want to take a little bit of sub to get through the tough part of the withdrawal. I need to quit. I know its a lot to ask for this to be easy since I got myself into this and there should be consequences, but I am afraid if I can't make it easy I wont follow through... selfish I know. Any feedback please? ## Hello, Monica! How are you doing? Have you tried taking it, yet? You must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, otherwise it could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. Most doctor's recommend 3 to 4 days. So no, you can't start with even small amounts. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzin...

What is the next step up from hydrocodone 10-325.? I take 3 a day and it seems to not be working as we'll anymore. I've taken it for about 2 years now ## Hello, Sammie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. The next step up would most likely be Percocet in the 10/325 dosage, since the Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone. Only your doctor can really decide where you should go from here, I'm just letting you know of other options. You could also go for something that doesn't contain Acetaminophen, such as Oxycodone by itself, or Dilaudid. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I guess that's it. I always have a hard time when I let my doc know the current medication.. Hydrocodone 10-325 is not working like it did at one time. ...

I'm on 16 mg of Suboxone a day. How long does it take to step down. I don't go see my doctor for 2 more weeks and would like to know. ## Hey guys, just have a question I'm hoping someone can answer... I have been on Subs for approximately 9 months now. I started on 24mg/day and am now on 2mg/day. This last dr. visit, I felt I was ready to go down to 1mg a day, and so my dr prescribed me 30 2mg tabs. When I started getting down to 1 mg, I noticed I was feeling horrible and that my body was still having a hard time adjusting to only 1 mg a day. So, naturally I went back up to 2mg's a day and ran out early. Not wanting to call my dr and make an appt early, I decided to cold-turkey it for a few days, feeling that I would be okay...(bad idea). I was withdrawling from Subs for...

If you are struggling with getting off Suboxone successfully, you may want to take the time to read this. I have read a ton of hype about Suboxone being impossible to get off. How the withdrawal symptoms carry on for days, even months. Below, I would like to encourage you and let you know that it can be done. I AM LIVING PROOF YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THIS FEAT!!! I have been free of Suboxone and all other drugs and alcohol for 3 months and I have never felt better in my life!!! THE WAY THAT SUCCESS HAPPENED FOR ME AND CAN HAPPEN FOR YOU: For months I read Suboxone blog sites in the effort to gather some element of hope that would encourage me to make the “jump” to get off my final 1/8 tab (1mg) of Suboxone. At the point I started reading these blog sites, I had come down from 2.5...

I took a planB onestep pill on Monday the 4th and on Wednesday the 6th I started to take Ampicilina Mexapin for a really bad sore throat. I wasn't on any medication when i took the Plan B Pill it was until 2 days after that i took this Antibiotic. I was just wondering if this Antibiotic could decrease the effectiveness of the PlanB Pill? ## Hello, Andrea! How are you? Sorry about the sore throat. There shouldn't be a problem, especially since you didn't take them together on the same day. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The side effects for Plan B may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and spotting. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was on an...

I took plan b one step less than 24 hours after a slip up. I got a period about a week later. It was lighter and shorter than usual. My period last month was almost two weeks late and again light and short. On and off I've had heavy milky discharge. When I went to the bathroom it was so abundant I heard it fall out of me. I've never had this much discharge. Just wondering if I could be pregnant or it is a plan b side effect. It's been almost two months since I took it. ## Usually, when you have that much discharge, it's due to a yeast infection. The FDA does list this medication as being known to cause various types of vaginal infections and issues as side effects, along with spotting and menstrual pain. Are you on any other medications? Have you checked for pregnancy?

My doctor absolutely won't prescribe anything other than steroids and muscle relaxers. Every step is agony. Does anyone know a doctor in Knoxville who still prescribes pain medication? I have a current MRI. Help! ## Hello, Maully! How are you doing? Sorry that you're in pain. As to getting pain medications, if you require them on a long-term ongoing basis, then you'll need to see a pain management specialist. There were some new regulations put in place this year that severely restrict what general practitioners and surgeons can prescribe, how much they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it and how long they can prescribe it. Have you asked your current doctor if they can refer you to someone? That would likely be the easiest way to get in somewhere and get the help you n...

Hi, I've been on 30mg of oxycodone a day_-20 mg on waking and 2 sep. doses 5 mg through day. I have a severe neuropathic/nerve pain and an upregulated central nervous system which includes akathisia. The oxycodone had been a life saver. It also stopped the terrible depression and terror I had been feeling since a bad medication reaction brought on this whole syndrome. One more 5 mg a day would have been really needed, but at least I had started to feel I could survive and life was starting to improve. I was really staring to enjoy living again much of the time. Long story, govt. steps in, no more oxycodone. Saw lovely pain specialist, and he's put me on oxycontin 30 mg morning, 15 mg night. This was 6 days ago. Each time I've taken oxycontin, instead of the unagitating, untw...

I have had two cervical fusions, five levels of herniated lumbar disk, stenosis, bone spurs and arthritis. I have been taking Oxycodone 15mg 3 X daily for one year. I have noticed less pain relief for shorter periods lately. I see a pan management MD once a month. I don't want to come across as asking for stronger drugs. I would like to know what the next step is when Oxycodone is not effective any longer? Also, how is the best way to talk to my doctor about this? I have had steroid shots and neurotomies performed with little success. I am still keeping up my Grandchildren every day and have no problems with addiction. I have noticed my pain has slowed me down though and I'm just tired of hurting all the time. Any info will be very appreciated. Thank you! ## Its is tolerance and...

I'm having break thru pain which is seriously painful. What could My pain Dr do? ## Hello, SolidMike! How are you? Since this is a time released medication, your doctor could prescribe an instant or regular release one, in addition to it, to help with breakthrough pain. There are quite a few choices that can be prescribed. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. This is an antacid and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dizziness, flatulence, and diarrhea. Did someone tell you that it could? Are you on any other medications? Worms are most commonly caught via pets, undercooked foods, or walking outside barefoot and stepping in pet waste.

Can I take norco 10/325 flexed all 10 mg with a stacker 2 ## Hi Meddie, There are quite a few different pain meds to choose from that are allegedly stronger than Norco (Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen). Oxycodone in my research seems to be the next step up the latter, but some chronic pain patients may feel that Tramadol, Morphine, Opana, or Dilaudid would be better alternatives. I for one have never taken anything other than Hydrocodone and Morphine in the realm of narcotic analgesics, so I can only go off charts on the web and my own experience, which tells me that Morphine provided greater relief than Hydrocodone after a nose surgery I had done several years ago. If you're able to I'd encourage you to talk with your doctor about this just to see what s/he recommends... And as far a...
