White Gel Capsule With No Imprint

Large white gel capsule. With compounded sticky substance shaped in an oval also. Somewhat of a flavory sweet smell and dark brownish in color. ## Hi, Butterfly! Where did you find it? There are 3 options here, since there is no imprint on it and all manufactured prescription products are required to have imprints to enable their identification in case of emergency. The first and most probable is that it is some type of over the counter product. From your description, my best guess would be an herbal supplement. The next option is that it could have been something specially done by a compounding pharmacy, since they use their own, generic empty capsules. And the last possibility is that it may be a foreign medication of some type, since they are not regulated by the FDA. Does anyone els...

What type of drug is a small white solid gel cap, with no letters or numbers? It has a faint score line length-wise around middle of the gel cap. ## Hello Deb, Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to identify pills/capsules that have no imprint other than to take them into a lab and have it analyzed. In the United States all medication is required by the FDA to be identifiable through its physical appearance (imprint, shape, color, size, etc.) and because this gel capsule is not marked it makes me believe that it is likely some dietary supplement or vitamin. Something like a fish oil or vitamin E. If you would like to get rid of the pill you can always go to your local pharmacy or hospital and put it in the drug drop off and they will dispose of it properly. I hope this information h...

My prescription drug was changed from phenytoin with the purple band to phenytoin plain white with the number 420 printed twice on the capsule; I was told it was fine to take same formula and different manufacturer but when I asked if the fillers were the same the pharmacist stumbled and then said it is ok. Since the medicine was changed without my knowledge or permission by somebody (nobody in the Dr.s office knows how this happened) I am wondering about it. Of course I will ask the doctor again ( I spoke to the nurse before) when I see him - he doesn't take phone calls), but I would like to know something before then. ## Well, first no pharmacy is in any way obligated to always provide you with the product manufactured by any particular company that you have been getting. Is this capsule vitamin D3? It has an imprint on it of "NO20". It's from Fred's pharmacy in Gaston, SC. I filled my prescription but I can't find anything about it on the internet. ## It has been a while and I was just about to ask the same question. I filled my d3 50,000IU capsules and got the same pill. It must be some new form rather than the green gel capsules. ## I'd say if you got it filled at a licensed pharmacy (which seems to be the case) then it's more than likely to be what the label says it is, as there's a level of established trust that exists between patients and pharmacies that has to be actively maintained on their part. While I agree that mistakes do happen from time to time, seeing that post #1 also filled a prescription for the same ty...

When looking at it vertically, it has an indention running all the way around. It was found in my grandmother's (who was in a retirement home at the time) pill container that seperated her pills into morning noon and night. ## I found a small oval white gel capsule looking exactly as you described - no markings other than an indentation running lenghtwise around the capsule. I'd like to know what it is. ## Off-white oblong liquid-filled gel capsule, vertical indentation running lengthwise, with no markings is Nature's Bounty Melatonin ## Hello, Unfortunately the FDA requires that any regulated medication be identifiable by it's physical appearance (color, shape, imprint, size etc.) and because this pill does not have an imprint it is not likely that it is medication. I found a handful of dark green gel capsules with no markings, filled with tiny white beads. I'm assuming they are an OTC something-or-other but cannot identity them because they are in a plain ziplock baggie. ## Hello Youdontknowme, Unfortunately it's very difficult to identify pills of any kind without an imprint. In reality the only thing the pills are likely not is prescription medication as they are required by the FDA to be identifiable through their physical appearance which includes an imprint/marking. In addition to possibly being OTC they could also be things like dietary pills, vitamins, essential oils, candy, supplements etc. If you are willing to spend money you can have them analyzed at an establishment that is equipped to do so. white powder inside. These were found in a vitamin d3 soft gel bottle wrapped in an ace bandage in a gym bag...I suspect a steroid?? Oral?? ## Hi Paige, When you find things like this at the gym or inside of a gym bag I think steroids are almost always going to be a prime suspect, but without having a marking or imprint of some kind, this is really anyone's best guess. US prescription drugs all carry imprints, so we can definitely rule that out. This leaves any illicit, foreign, or dietary supplements as the next clue. I for one would assume "illicit" since why else would you stick a capsule in tin foil and put it inside of a vitamin D bottle? It only makes sense from our perspective that someone trying to hide/conceal something illegal (like steroids) would bother to do suc...

Unidentifiable capsule. white/ light green. novo on the white half. 10 on the light green half. please help. thanks ## Hi curiousgeorge, Information that i've gathered states that this is identified as a 10mg Fluoxetine capsule.
