I have been on Lyrica for a long time. For the first few years everything was great, no side effects Before I started, it just for my tiny premie( it quite 4lbs) to lie on my chest. But now sometimes I retain so much fluid that I cannot get my jeans on and my legs are so swollen that my skin burns from stretching so fast. Also, if you press on a place it feels like play dough and leaves a deep imprint that takes a bit to go away. I am taking Lasix, but it is nor helping any more. Any suggestions? I don't want to stop taking in and have to tell my little girl she cannot play and crawl on mommy. ## According to medlineplus: "swelling of the arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs" are all listed as common side effects of Lyrica (Pregabalin). My mother has been used ecosprin - 150 mg, clopilet - 75 mg, Biovaas - 10 mg, Amit - 25mg and Sibelium - 10mg for almost 2 months. since 20 days, her legs are swelling. would it be the side effects any of these of tablets? or else what is the cause for this? ## yes ecospirin av 75 willhave side effectsof legbelow knee swelling ## Naga, although some meds can cause edema....swelling of legs in your mothers case, don't just assume that is the problem. The medication may cause swelling but she still needs to report this to her doctor and follow up with him/her. There are such things as "normal" side effects and then there are adverse reactions which are listed under side effects but it is always best to bring them to the attention of the doctor. He/she may need to change someth...

On Norvasc, 7.5 mgs., and Zebeta 5mg, for HBP. Can't take diuretcs ## Hello, Arlene! How are you? I am sorry about the problem that you're having. Why can't you take diuretics? Alternative, you will like need to switch one of the medications and try something else. The Norvasc has been known to cause such edema, so it is the most likely culprit that you'll need to stop and replace. How long have you been taking it?

my right hand is so swollen, all numb and very painful. the left hand is fine. anyone have this problem? I am stopping the lyrica to see what happens. does anyone know how long it will take for the swelling to go away after stopping lyrica? ## Hi roz, Were you diagnosed with carpal tunnel, arthritis, or any sort of nerve entrapment in your right hand? Only asking because what you're describing is usually commonly associated with those types of conditions. Additionally, "swelling of the arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs" is listed as a general side effect of Lyrica. So depending on the underlying cause of this inflammation, it's also likely that Lyrica could be the culprit. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Lyrica Details Have you discussed this wi...

Has anyone taking Levothyroxine experienced eyelid swelling and leg cramps? I have been taking 50cc for a year now. First I had itching & hives and now I have eyelid swelling and leg cramps. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? What has your doctor said about this? The hives, itching and swelling sound like an allergic reaction and, if that is what is causing them, it's not going to go away. In most cases, it will just continue to get worse with repeated exposure. Typical side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and hair loss.

Had miniscal knee Surgery June 11. Does a muscle relaxer help reduce swelling? It is swelled from knee to ankle. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? No, a muscle relaxant will not do anything to reduce swelling, for that you would usually need a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Kindly advice on the medications. ## That can be side effects of most blood pressure medications, according to the NIH, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. However, only your doctor can help you discover which one is causing it and help you find the proper solution. Do you watch how much sodium you take in each day?

I got an abscess as a result of a piece of a tooth breaking, and it was close to the root. When I initially went to the dentist, the abscess wasn't too big at all, the doctor gave me 500mg amoxicillin to take 3 times a day, and scheduled me for a root canal in two weeks. I was taking the amoxicillin for 3 days and didn't notice any changes, and the abscess & swelling got bigger and hard and hot to touch. I went back to the dentist to let them know the amoxicillin wasn't doing anything for me, to see if they can prescribe me another stronger antibiotic. They did not prescribe me another antibiotic, but instead told me I need to finish the amoxicillin in order to see any changes, and just prescribed me 800mg ibuprofen to take along with the amoxicillin. What I wanted to kn...

I am taking Eslo 5 Tablet for over one yr for mild hypertension. Now have got swelling of the one foot & leg till knee.Know that this can be side effect of this medicine.Would like to know alternative medicine if I want stop this one. Thanks ## How have your blood pressure readings been? Are you also watching your fluid and salt intake? There's a chance that such swelling may not be solely due to the medication, elevated blood pressure and too much sodium and fluid can cause edema and that, in turn, may lead to congestive heart failure. So yes, there are alternative medications that can be taken, but you need to seek medical assistance first, to have this checked out and see what's causing the problem, rather than just trying to handle it yourself.

I am traveling in Peru and had really bad swelling on my gums at the back. I see a dentist and my wisdom tooth is growing at an angle. But due to my age an operation would mean resting for a few days and because I am on vacation they advised me to keep the wisdom tooth in and cut the tissue around it and clean it. I was also prescribed antibiotics and painkillers for the swollen gum caused by the wisdom tooth. They said the swelling and pain would go but I will have to take the tooth out soon. I have now taken 13 out of 15 antibiotics but still have some swelling and pain on the gums. I am worried the tooth is preventing the swelling to go down and maybe I should get the tooth removed sooner rather then later.

Has anyone else had problems with severe water retention after taking Contrave? Mine started day two. I already take a mild water pill but it hasn't touched the swelling. I do not have ankles any longer, they are now "cankles". ## Hello, Janie! How are you? Yes, though it is rare, the Bupropion in Contrave has been known to cause edema in some people that take it. Have you informed your doctor? You may need a stronger diuretic or a switch to a different medication. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. ## I am on my 2nd week of Contrave and noticed that my ankles and feet are swollen. I had knee surgery ( torn miniscus) ,left knee before surgery ankle would swell at times.. I was at home recovering for five weeks upon returning to work my ankle e started to swell again . Any explanations , theorys, or medical know how's on why it could be happening. ## There are several reasons it could happen. If you were not putting much weight and pressure on that leg for awhile, that could cause it. Or it may also be edema, which is basically fluid retention. Learn more edema details here. Were you ever given a diagnosis for why it was swelling?

I was told that Norvasc can cause extra growth of gum tissue, is that so? ## I noticed swelling in my gum. The doctor reduced the dosage from 5mg-2.50mg and my gum was ok afterwards ## Yes, Norvasc has been reported to cause overgrowth of gum tissue (gingival hyperplasia) as a side effect, but it is very rare, occurring in less than 0.01% of those that take it. More common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension, and bleeding gums. Ref: Medline Plus Amlodipine/Norvasc Is there anything else I can help with?

Rash on inside of lips; itching, burning, hurting lips ## Hi Belle, Lido is not known to be marketed in the USA, although I did find out that Lido may be available in Thailand as a brand name for Lidocaine. The abbreviation makes sense so I have no reason to think otherwise on this. Regarding the side effects you mentioned, they are most likely related to those on Lidocaine's side effect list, posted below: -burning or discomfort in the place you applied the patch -redness or swelling of the skin under the patch Some side effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon, but if you experience any of them, call your doctor immediately: -hives -skin rash -itching -difficulty breathing or swallowing -swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or l...
