I live in belleville il and had back surgery 4 weeks ago. my doctor doesn't believe me when i tell him i'm in pain. every day is agony. i can't take a shower without excrutiateing pain and i end up in tears daily. my life is so limited now since i'm unable to do things i normally would do because of the pain i'm experiencing. help!!! ## Hello, Chris! How are you doing? Sorry that you're suffering. What type of doctor ave you been seeing? There have been strict restrictions placed on PCP's and surgeons regarding what they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it, as well as how much they can prescribe and how long they can prescribe it……and if you're specifically asking any doctor for narcotics, they'll usually view that as being drug seeki...

I will be having wisdom teeth pulled. I would like to know what options are availiable for non narcotic pain relief. Preferably the strongest. I will be able to get a prescription, but I would like to avoid opiates or opioids. ## Wow, that's kind of difficult, because knocking out the opiates leaves only options for minimal pain relief. In many cases, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory would be prescribed, such as just a strong dose of Ibuprofen, but that can depend on how complicated the extractions are and how much you're bleeding afterwards. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. Are they being done in office, or as surgical extractions?

QI am looking for a good mild/moderate narcotic for break through pain . I am allready on hydro/norco 10/325 and it only las about 3-4 hours and thenn wears off. Any sugestions. Three bad dis in neck and fibromyagia with severe migranies i think being put out of me out misery would be better lol. ## Hi vonda, Based on your description, I get the sense that you may want to ask your doctor about trying an extended release pain medication, for something that lasts a lot longer than 3-4 hours. A few different options in that category are: AVINZA capsules are a modified-release formulation of morphine sulfate indicated for once daily administration for the relief of moderate to severe MS CONTIN (another variation of morphine sulfate) is an opioid agonist product indicated for the management ...

i just went to my pain doctor for the first time under the new law, he wrote me a prescription for 2 months and said go to any pharmacy. i'm taking norco 7.5/325 took it to walgreens, and they filled the 60 day suppy with no problem. before my doctor was dispensing meds at his office. so this was the first time at a pharmacy. it went smooth but took about 30 minutes for first time red tape. ## Hello, Marc! How are you? I'm very glad that you were able to get your prescription filled without a hassle. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything I can help with?

I see a pain management Dr for chronic pain. I've had a very difficult time in finding the RIGHT medication for this. I recently had my 2nd disc repair surgery on my neck and I've made sure to follow all protocols with prescriptions between my pain management Dr and my surgeon. My biggest issue right now is that I've been taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 7.5/325 in liquid form. Today my husband took me in for a follow up appointment and we found out that this medication is no longer available in the liquid form. I take the liquid form because of a poor absorption issue with my stomach after having a bad gastric bypass surgery (while I lost a great amount of weight my stomach is totally screwed up now). I'm allergic to morphine & dilaudid. We've tried patches too ...

In dire need of doctors in, or near Tuscaloosa AL, that are not scared, and are willing to write narcotic pain medications for my chronic pain. About at the end of my rope. Please help!! ## Hi Barry, I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as locating pain management doctors within your general area. Just input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients. To get a real vibe for the doctor you may even want to follow up with a visit in person. Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not will...

How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain. Has your doctor made any other suggestions? There are other options you could try, such as Oxycontin, Oxycodone regular release or Dilaudid. blue oval pill ## Narcotic pain medication come in odd mg. doses like 22 mg. very addictive ## No, there is no Norco available in a 22mg dosage. It contains Hydrocodone, and Acetaminophen, it is narcotic analgesic and its most common side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache, according to FDA reports. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. The strongest dosage available contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. What are the markings on the tablet in question?

hello...I would like to know your results with either opana or morphine..i started going to pain management AGAIN after several years and was given oxycontin, 15mg x 2 per day. this does absolutely nothing for pain..i go back in a week and was wondering if opana or morphine might be better?? just wondering...thanks to all for reading, HOUSE ## Hello, House! How are you? They are all effective analgesics, but it really depends on you and how your body responds to them. What pain medications were effective for you in the past? That might give a better idea of where to go next. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

1. Limit yourself to one pharmacy and one prescriber of any narcotic. If you have another Dr. That's OK with you staying with another, I suggest you mention the drug or at least be honest about your mixing medicines and prescibers. Most will check you for polydrug use. If you break the covenant about getting controlled drugs from many sources chances as they will drop you as a patient. Also, the RPh may alert the staff of your dishonesty. Always give 24 hours notice at least on refill requests. The problem is with obtaining over the maximum allowable amount of controlled Rx's is the possibility of divertion or addiction and before you know it, your consumption no longer controls your cause of pain. The pain killers may mask the reason you have tbe distress and pain. Then, you have

I am on 100 MCG Duragesic Fentanyl Patches. I wear 1 every 48 hrs. I called my prescription insurance company to ask how early can I get a 20 day supply filled. They said that I can fill it after I have used 75% of the script. How many days early is that? ## Hello, Robin! How are you? 75% of 20 days would be 15 days, however, if you're having it filled at a regular pharmacy, since it is a controlled substance, they may not fill it that early. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was in very bad wreck an insurance is not working an need help with pain an provide document ## @Countryblack, Sorry to hear about the wreck you were in. If you need additional assistance covering the cost your prescription for norco, there's always drug discount cards you can use to help offset the price. MedsChat actually offers a good savings card as well that can cut costs by up to 15 - 75% off at most pharmacies across the US. It's not intended to act as a substitute for insurance, but seems like it would certainly be worth a try nonetheless. You can view/print more details about it here: Rx Savings Card One other thing you ought to know is that many drug manufacturers also offer various types of patient assistance programs for those who meet certain income qualifications...

What class of narcotic is dilaudid? ## Hello, Sassie! How are you? There are actually just drug classes, not narcotic classes, because not all medications in the various classes are narcotics. As to which one Dilaudid/Hydromorphone is in, its high potential for abuse causes it to be considered a Schedule 2 substance. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
