I am a mother of 2 boys ages 6 and 8 who were diagnosed last year with asthma. Their allergist prescribed Advair for both. My husband and I have been shocked and appalled by the outrageous price of this medication! The inhalers cost us $600 a month. The doctor's office is kind enough to provide samples on occasion, but even with the occasional sample at this price we might as well be paying 2 mortgages. The bottom line is that there is no generic of this medication and so GSK can charge whatever they want for it. Why is the price of methylphenidate so expensive now? My doctor informed me that it is dirt cheap, and is generic. I was diagnosed with ADD, and was informed it was a cheap drug since I could not afford health insurance. My memory and attention is poor. I am willing to try the drug in generic form. ## I take 10 mg methylphenidate three times daily for narcolepsy. I'm currently taking oxycodone 10/325 for a recent back surgery 4x a day. I see my doc tomorrow and he's going to start cutting me back slowly bc I've been on them a year. My question is, since I'm paying cash, is it cheaper to stay at the 10s and go to 3x a day, or stay at 4x a day and go down to 7.5mg? It's the same outcome of 30mg per day, I'm just trying to get the cheapest way. I've called a few pharmacies & they don't wanna give me prices over the phone. Anyone have any ideas on this? I've been scouring Google but can't seem to find anything.

In Dec. 2015I got 120 Hydrocodone/10/325Acet. and 90 Tamazapam 30mg. I paid around $55. Today I only got the Hydrocodone and it was $81.00. I live in a small town and get my prescriptions filled for years at Brookshires grocery. What is happening? The clerk who has been there years didn't seem to know. I would like to know what the non generic 8 mg suboxin tablet looks like, how it compares to orange colored generic 8 mg tablets. Also I've had generic white round and the orange too and prefer the orange as the white does nothing for my pain. Also im going to start suboxin not for substance abuse but rather long term chronic pain. Is this uncommon and what is the dosing for 24 hour relief if given 8 mg tablet. That is only relevant to the name brand time released product, Oxycontin. The current problem stems from the fact that each year the DEA sets a manufacturing limit on how much of any controlled substance can be made and distributed. It might also help if you fill your rx with the generic medication (Oxymorphone) instead of the brand name. There are so many yohimbine HCL products with prices all Over the map. Where can I find a proper HCL distillation? What company? ## @Uncajona, Unfortunately all of the supplement companies that I know of do not mention anything on their packaging with regards to "HCL distillation". If a proper Hydrochloride distillation is very important to you, then you may want to consider searching for a 'compounding pharmacy' in your area who can have chemists do this properly to better suit your needs. How much does generic suboxone cost compared to real thing ## Prices are actually going to vary according to a number of different factors including: location, quantity, dosage, dosage form (i.e. sublingual, film, or vial), etc. However as a rough estimate, based on what I've seen online, suboxone can be up to a couple hundred more or less depending on whether or not you get the generic vs the brand name. Definitely a significant difference in price, but I believe many would argue that you do get what you pay for in the price difference. Everyone may react/respond differently though, so I would just be open to generic options if you've had luck with them in the past. I hope this helps!
