I started to break out a lot after my menopause on top of the extreme anxiety I had. It didn't clear up until I started to use natural skin care. Anything I used on the market for creams did not work and only seemed to make matters worse. Why did this happen? Is it common to experience severe acne at this age? Was it caused from the anxiety I was experiencing? ## With the anxiety comes nauseaness as well and duzzyness can thus be becausevof my hormonal change in my body as I'm post menopause and did not had a period for two years please help and what can I use to ease the symptoms its making me tired and I do not get enough sleep wake up at night then hot then cold is it all sign of post menopause

I went to a " natural " doctor here in the US. He gave me some natural supplements such as Vitamin Bs and Bach Flowers for my anxiety. He also gave me Victan 2mg. He said Victan is not a drug and that it comes from Valerian Root. I just researched it and its a drug. Are his statements true or should he be reported for giving me a benzo without a psychiatric license? Im really upset because the point of seeing a natural practicioner is to get natural medicine.. ## Hello, Bobby! How are you? You are correct, Victan is considered a drug by the FDA and while someone doesn't have to be a psychiatrist to prescribe it, they are supposed to have a license to practice medicine. It is also warned that it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nau...

I was once prescribed something to my panic attic, it was very strong. Non narcotic, got off xanex, tryed bus bar 15 mg 2 times a day. Now I'm trying to fig out the other non narcotic anxiety/ pain ## Have you tried looking into any natural alternatives, such as Essential Oils or various herbs? Kava Kava seems to be a solid option for panic attacks/anxiety: "This is one of the most popular choices for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. It is a powerful herb from the South Seas. Used as an alternative to Valium, research studies have found it reduces anxiety equivalently. The advantage is that there are no addictive side effects with the Kava Kava. Bear in mind, Kava Kava WILL knock you out. It acts as a sedative so don’t take it if you need to stay alert f...

Im prescribed with Nexito Plus from last 3 months. I want to know that, is this medicine is dependable and how long can it be taken. Whether i could prefer to homeotherapy now. ## Nexito Plus contains the active ingredients Escitalopram. Escitalopram is used to treat depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; excessive worry and tension that disrupts daily life and lasts for 6 months or longer). Escitalopram is in a class of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It works by increasing the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps maintain mental balance. Keep in mind that there are natural alternatives to this drug, such as 5 HTP, which also works by increasing the amount of serotonin. It is sold in many natural health food...

I have been taking Vyvanse consistently for around 2 years. I finally decided I want to go off of it. For the past week, I have not been taking it and I feel overall better (less anxiety), BUT my levels of fatigue are crazy. I have been getting 8 hours of sleep overnight but I constantly feel tired all the time. When will I get my energy levels back? A week? A month? A year? If anyone has been through this please let me hear your experience. ## Hello, Courtney! How are you? If you stopped taking it abruptly, rather than tapering off, then this is normal and is basically a rebound effect. It usually takes about a month to wear off, if it doesn't, then you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I suggest 5 HTP in GNC. It is a precursor serotonin. It wil...

Please someone I dont know should i change? I did not think this drug was meant for anxiety problems like an ssr? HElp me i am so scared. ## Hi Jamie, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Based on my research, Pristiq (Desvenlafaxine) is in the drug class: Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It is used to treat major depressive disorder in adults. It works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain and could improve your mood, feelings of well-being, and energy level. Hi there, I was on tripelene for a couple of years then went off it trying to seek a natural way to help with my anxiety and to sleep. But the natural meds never helped then my Dr prescribed 10x xanor which helped then he gave me another 10 x xanor and when I asked for more he said I can not use it for a long period, so he prescribed urbanol, well I can't sleep. And it's been my third night now that I have taken it. Please help. ## Urbanol is listed as containing Clobazam, it is a benzodiazepine class medication. The U.S. FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and mood changes. Can this muscle relaxer be taken to help with anxiety? ## Yes, as it has some similar properties as anti anxiety medicine. However Soma can also cause anxiety too! ## @Laura, I just did some research and read that Soma (Carisoprodol) can be used for anxiety like Eddy mentioned, however, it's not often prescribed for that because since it's a muscle relaxer it can actually have strong sedation effects. Also, Soma is only meant to be used in the short-term, often less than three weeks. There is a natural muscle relaxer known as valerian root that I've tried for anxiety but it also works for insomnia, and well, it definitely made me calm but also very very sleepy just like the Soma might do. I've also tried holy basil for anxiety- which doesn't make me tired at all! I t...

Hello: Dealing with PTSD. Prazosin helps but is short acting. I use at night when anxiety jerks me awake, often 3 or 4 times. I always check BP first and when elevated by stress I take 2-4 mg. It really helps but my P-doc wont give RX for enough to see me through a month. Is there any reasonably reliable over the counter route for Prazosin (minipress)? I could really use the help. Thanks ## Hello Don. Spotted your post in here..I get the drug for something else but I was wondering did anyone try Melatonin on you? It's a natural sleep hormone.. in Europe it doesn't require a prescription. ## Hi Don, Regarding PTSD, I stumbled upon some interesting information I wanted to share, suggesting that certain psychedelics such as psilocybin (the active component found in psychedelic mush...

Does this plll help panic attacks and does it act fast if am having a bad panic attack like a zanx ## Mirtazapine is actually an anti-depressant as opposed to an anti-anxiety like Xanax; however it is said to work by increasing certain types of activity in the brain to maintain mental balance. That to me, certainly sounds like it could have a positive impact on someone who might be experiencing a panic attack. The funny thing is, "anxiousness" and "confusion" are both listed as side effects of Mirtazapine. So I guess there's really no guarantee that it wont backfire Lol... Yes-what is the major difference between these 2 meds? I have taken xanax for several years. I'm thinking abt. changing to Buspar. Can you switch meds like these without tapering off the xanax. Does Buspar help w/ Panic attacks? ## Hi, I wanted to address the panic attacks you are experiencing. Often panic attacks and anxiety are the body's natural reaction to telling us something has gone wrong that needs to be addressed. It is usually some form of trauma that has happened in our life that creates the panic attacks and anxiety. Medication numbs the symptoms but do not address the root of the problem. Have you considered going into therapy to see what is causing the panic attacks and anxiety? ## buspar is suppose to be taken everyday its taken to level u out....zanax are suppose...

Is this a sleep medication? Any information would be helpful. ## would it be safe for a 15 year old ## what is perphen/amit tab 2-25mg used for? ## @av12, Based on my research, Perphenazine + Amitriptyline is used to treat depression occurring with other mental/mood disorders (such as anxiety, agitation, schizophrenia). This medication is a combination of a tricyclic antidepressant (amitriptyline) and an antipsychotic medication (perphenazine). Together, they restore the balance of certain natural chemicals in the brain (neurotransmitters such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin). I need a doctor who will refill my prescription. My new doctor won't and my other dr retired. Help please. ## Hi Danny D, Personally, I think if you suffer from anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), your best bet is usually to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. They are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, as opposed to covering up the feelings and emotions with medication. You know what works best for you though! If I can recommend anything, it would be a combination of St. John's Wort and 5 HTP, and aromatherapy with essential oils- just because I find those options to be more natural than prescription opt...
