My best friend is in stage 4 liver cancer. The doctor has her on 125 ml of morphine. She has a patch containing morphine and pills with morphine. She doesn't say much about her pain. Does anyone know if this dose of morphine is strong?I know she is never without pain. ## Well, you didn't state the dosages of everything she is using, however, as long as she is being medically monitored on a regular basis, by her doctor, then there should not be a problem. I have been on to oxycodone 5 milligrams 325 4 times a day sometimes 5 times a day for 10 years now I have liver function problems my alt and Alt are in the seventies my doctor is switching me to percocet 10 5 times a day is that the same dosage and is the Tylenol lower dose. I have been taking morphine sulfate (Statex) and codeine for 20 years without any problems at all. I am extremely intolerant and allergic to medications and in severe pain every day (for 41 years) so being able to tolerate opiates is essential to my survival. The fact they are natural is what allows me to tolerate them. But Statex is on back order so they gave me MS IR this week which is morphine sulfate pentahydrate and it made me very sick. I am on a few psychotropic and an anti-convulsant. My blood work, I am told, says that my liver function level is 170 when it is supposed to be 40 or less. Therefore, my Pain Management Doctor said I cannot take anything with Tylenol in it, because it can harm your liver. What medication for pain, besides Roxycodone and Morphine could I ask for that doesn't have Tylenol in it, since they both knock me out when I take them. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2008. Over the years my nerve pain has gotten a lot worse. The pain has gotten so bad that it's ruining my life.
