Are there any small cell lung cancer survivors that have done the immunotherapy? My boyfriend has sclc, tumor in 1 lung and lympnodes making surgery not an option. I'm having to research for options because no Dr has options other than radiation and chemo treatments which almost killed him because his AFib was ignored as was the BP meds he was taking we weren't warned and his BP dropped down to 60?/40? Could barely get a reading at his Dr. Just can't find a caring oncologist here in Tn.

My husband has an aggressive form of prostate cancer. In 2 years have been through chemo, radiation, lupron, immunotherapy (provenge), zytiga and another one or two that I can't remember. Anyway, the doctor is now talking about xtandi and Radium 223, and perhaps a clinical trial using Taxotere using Ascorbic acid. Side effects from the Xtandi, Radium and Taxotere (which he did 2 yrs ago when diagnosed) are not very pleasant, especially if the results are only for 3-4 months, which is the average before his psa rises and scans show the cancer spreading. Anyone else have an aggressive form of prostate cancer and dealing with treatment that doesn't work for long? ## Dear CeeCee, I'm very sorry to hear about the condition your husband is in. My spouse's grandfather (age 80+)...

It's been a hypothyroidism nightmare since 1 pembro infusion (a.k.a., 'Keytruda', an immunotherapy drug to treat cancer) killed my husband's thyroid over a period of about 3 months (late September - mid Dec.). No one caught the fact that the 'tipping point' from hyper- to hypo-thyroidism had been reached a few days before Christmas. We ended up in the hospital in Rochester on Dec. 26 for three days, getting treatment for symptoms — excruciating pain/difficulty breathing/rapid heartbeat/edema/swelling — rather than having treatment for the CAUSE of those symptoms, namely hypothyroidism. Consequently, the steroid (dexamethasone) and the other meds (gabapentin) he was given for pain did NOT address the underlying problem, but in fact added to them (incre...

My boyfriend was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma in August while in the hospital with pneumonia. Straight out of the hospital into radiation and chemo treatments in which he was unable to finish. No one has mentioned immunotherapy to us as an alternative. His last blood work results said his count was within normal limits so would he have a chance of atezolizumab and immunotherapy helping him? He's 59 yrs old, has good appetite, already had AFib before diagnosed with cancer, has Medicare/Aid. We live in NW Tn. Is there hope for success for him? A tumor in 1 lung and lympnodes. ## My dad experienced something similar, he ended up hospitalized to manually drain fluid from congestive heart failure, and a sample of it that they analyzed was full of cancer cells. The Atezolizumab is ...
