We have been trying for a next issue since last 6-7 months but due to Thyroid problem my wife is not conceiving. She is taking regularly Thyronorm 25mg tables regularly as advised by doctor...I am worried about Complain of my wife...kindly suggest.

hello Doctor...my daughter is 3 years old and is under thyronorm medication since birth (congenital hypothyroidism).She takes 62.5 mcg of thyronorm every morning regularly. This morning she just chewed about 10-12 additional 50mcg tablets in a flash before we could realise. We immediately made her vomit things and took her to a nearby hospital who also sent a tube through her noose and cleaned her stomach. But the doctor has asked us to be at the hospital for a 24hr observation. I am 28 yrs old i used thronorm 25 MCG for one and half months later I stopped taking that because of excessive hair fall my TSH level was 6.8 because of which my periods got late this month still . I want to know what to do next for this problem and how to prevent excessive hair fall . I don't want to take the tablets again .

Hi, I am 8 weeks pregnant. My TSH thyroid level has come 308.2 in blood test during 6th week which is very high as compared to normal levels. I was not having any symptoms before conceiving so never consulted doctor. we got to know about TSH level only during blood test when I got pregnant..and it came 308.2, then we retested it again on empty stomach but it came 332..Doctor was wondering how i conceived at such high level of TSH. i am taking thyronorm 50 mcg since last 2 years my t3 t4 tsh are in range. problem is hair loss, dryness of skin and weight gain ## I'm sorry, but there really is no solution as long as you are taking this medication. There are well known side effects of it and they tend to continue. Have you consulted your doctor? They might be able to make some suggestions to help with the dry skin. Additionally, a supplement such as Biotin, if it's safe for you to take, may help slow the hair loss. Other supplements may help, as well, such as a good multivitamin.
