The doctor prescribed Flupen 250 after circumcision. I take 2 pills every 2 hours. My question is, is that the right dosage? My brother cant remember what was said but the package says 2 pills every 2 hours. ## Hello Thenji, According to the NIH Flupen contains the active ingredient Flucloxacillin, which is typically used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria. The NIH goes on to say that the common adult dosage is 250mg 4 times daily which would come out to taking it every 6 hours, however, it is important to follow the instructions that your doctor gave you as they are most informed of your medical needs. I suggest that you call your doctor and check to see what his administration instructions were. I hope this helps.

Can i use Flupen 250 for flu symptoms? ## Flupen contains the active ingredient Flucloxacillin. This medication is a narrow-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic of the penicillin class, which works by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria. Unfortunately when it comes to antibiotics, they are not indicated for the treatment of cold or flu symptoms, unless that flu happened to have originated from a bacterial infection. If you have a way of confirming this with your doctor, that would probably be the next step I would take before deciding on an appropriate treatment option. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Flucloxacillin Details I hope this advice helps!

My 19 month old son has had osteomyelitis in his left hip and he has been on IV Fluxocillin for 7weeks and on oral Keflex 250mg four times daily for 6weeks. Iam worried that such doses might leave his immune system exposed. Does anyone haeve any suggestion as to how to rebuild his immune system after the course of antibiotics. ## At this time he would be at far greater risk if he didn't have the antibiotics. The typical side effects of Flucloxacillin, and Keflex, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. As to rebuilding his immune system, he may benefit from some probiotics, though you should check with his doctor, before giving him anything, to make sure it is safe. How much longer will he be on these medications?
