My tablets are 3 months out of date. Can I still take them? ## They don't become dangerous once expired, but they may begin to lose efficacy, and may not work as well as they did, when they were fresh. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Chantix as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Ref: Chantix Information Thus, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a vial of B12 with expiration date of 4/2012, is it safe to still use it for injections ## I would of coarse never recommend taking expired "anything", but generally vitamins are still ok to use shortly after their expiration date, and if it's not as potent or effective, at least you'll know why. April was only two months ago, so I doubt that it will have lost much or any of its potency by now. I have some expired Vitamin C powder from Feb. 2012 and it still seems to serve its purpose well today. It may just be me, but I think the expiration date on vitamins isn't as accurate as we're lead to believe. From my perspective I think the quick expiration date on many products is just to get you to buy it more frequently than necessary. I hope my opinion helps! ...

I have two (small) bottles of Morphine 5mg tablets. One is marked "Drug Expires 2012" and the other is marked "Drug Expires 2013". Are they still safe to use? I am on a small disability income so it would save me money if I could use them. [they had rolled behind a dresser and I just found them this weekend] Thank you for advice.

I have a full prescription bottle of Clotrimazole 10 mg troche. They were issued to me December 26, 2013. Today is January 13, 2017. They've been kept in my dresser drawer in bedroom in controlled temperature indoors. I currently have Oral Thrush in my mouth and a vaginal yeast infection . I need to know if i can take these tablets? ## This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose efficacy, so it likely will not work as well as it did, when new. Thus, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Hello. I took 2 Excedrin Extra Strength tablets yesterday for pain in my neck, shoulder & arm from maybe sleeping wrong... I noticed I started feeling real nauseated & dizzy. So I went to lay down & that didn't work, so I ate dinner to see if it would stop, but no, it just got worst & I vomited everything. This morning I still feel the same & ate 1 bowl of cereal & still feel nauseated/tired, just like eewwwww.....What should I do? ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. IT can also cause headache, nervousness, and insomnia. Unfortunately, only time will allow it to improve, but if it continues for more than another day, or two, you should consult your doctor to be safe. has there been any change? How are you feeling,...

I have a box of recently expired K-Lyte effervescent tablets individually wrapped. 25mEq elemental Potassium (975mg) as potassium citrate. Expired Nov 2015. Would they be safe to use since they are individually sealed and only 4 months past expiry? ## Hello, Lynda! How are you? They don't become dangerous, once expired, but they can lose some efficacy and may not work as well as they did, when new, to raise potassium levels. Unless your doctor approves of your still using them, it would be best to dispose of them and obtain a new supply. The U.S. FDA lists their typical side effect as being nausea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the information.

5513 ## I am not certain what you are asking, could you please clarify? ## Can I take the medication Soma if it expired in 2007? ## I’m wondering the same thing. I found a script that expired in 2007 also. ## Yes you can, they may show signs of aging but should still be good. I did however have some Rantidine/Zantac go bad after storing an emergency night bag in my car in 150 degree Southern California summer weather ## Yes you can. It just loses its potency. ## I have 5-year-old Soma that is just as potent. What they do do is turn hard making them difficult to break in half. And some of mine are also exposed to extreme temperatures

What is the purpose of the Nizer D tablet? Can it be taken by someone with asthma? Does it contain aspirin, sulfur or ibuprofen? ## Nizer D contains 100mgs of Nimesulide and 120mgs of Pseudoephedrine. This combines a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory with a decongestant. I see no warnings listed regarding the use of them in Asthma patients, however, this site is not medical professionals, so you should consult your doctor to be certain. ## Will it cause any harm if it is taken after it expires?

I have a few expired patches that I found in my medicine cabinet that I guess were never used. Has any1 used a patch that is expired for around a year? I think it is kinda like any other opiates that just loose its potency after expires. Please let me know ig any1 else has tried an expired patch. ## Some medications turn to poison and can kill you if they are expired. but the most of them are just going to work less or not at all. But there is no reason to chance it. And if you have a patch sitting back there for X time you must not need it and if you did you would get a new Rx/ ## No they should be safe. Are expired ferrous sulphate pills safe to take? They expired in 08. ## When it comes to drugs/medication I think it is best to not take any chances with the past expiration date. They MAY still be ok to take if they haven't been exposed to a high amount of heat or various other conditions outside of the bottle, however I am not a pharmacist or MD, so I cannot guarantee if it is in fact safe for you to consume. There is still a high likelihood that it lost some of its potency and may be ineffective to the point where it could harm your body by not doing it's job all the way, per say. I would recommend contacting your local pharmacy or doctor to assess if the quality of the drug still remains. They may have certain tools or methods for measuring this sort of thing. Please post ba...

can scopex syrup be used after the expiry date. and if not, why? ## Hello, Tarin! How are you? No, a liquid breaks down and loses efficacy very fast, so once expired, it's no longer viable as a medication. You should see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Does the same apply to scopex sugar coated tablets? What is the shelf life of scopex?

Can I take Bentyl that expired 8/10, 9 months ago? ## As with anything, whether it be drugs, food or drink, you should not take them if they are out of date. The date is on the packet for your safety, and you could experience more adverse effects from taking out of date medication. Also some medications can begin to loose their effectiveness passed the expiration date, so it would be best in your case to just request a new prescription given the length of time that it has been out of date. However, if you'd really like to be certain about the pills degradation, you would have to take them to a lab and have them evaluated for quality assurance. I don't know how to go about that procedure, but I am sure it will be cheaper and less stressful to just get a refill. ## Check with your...

Typically, the med begins to lose efficacy. I’m not a doc, or a pharmacist, and I would suggest you call a pharmacist and run this situation by them. ## What Beth stated is correct, this Buspar does not become dangerous, once expired, but it may begin t...
