Dr Who Prescribe Pain Meds

I have a back injury with compression fracture in lower back, degenerative disc desease, herniated and buldging disc, arthritis ,siatica rs ## If you bring your MRI to any of your doctors, I can't see a reason they wouldn't, unless you are flagged.

Due to the new regulations that were set forth by the DEA last year, you'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist, a general practitioner won't prescribe controlled substances, except in very rare instances, such as when a person has intractable pain from a possibly fatal condition, such as stage 4 cancer. Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easies way to find the help you need. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

I have lower back pain deg fiscs none of the surgeons recommend this surgery however none will prescribe pain meds anyone in springfield massachusetts ## Hi Jessi, Surgery is the last option, if you only have pain in your lower back, surgery will not help. Have you and your doctor talked about muscle relaxers, like Soma or Flexeril? There are many non surgical that can help a lot. Seeing an OT doctor works wonders, using a TENS unit, steroids by mouth. (I've had 7 back surgeries ) Good Luck!

i am between pain drs and will be out of hydrocodone 10/325mg which i take 8+/day (prescribed that way up to 16- 1 to 2 8x/day.) i need one today!! it's a friday & ive called so many since wednesday knowing i'd be out during the weekend sometime. monday being a holiday im not sure if any will be open. can anyone direct me to a good PCP who will help short term until my pain dr sees me the 31st? located in NWA (AR). ## Only an ER DR will do it. I have 3 ruptured discs with nerve damage on both sides of my back. Iam in pain 24/7. I've been to 3 neurosurgions and 2 Orthopedic surgeons. I've been to 3 physical therapist and 3 pain specialist who say I need surgery but no one will touch me they say its to risky and they send me back to pain management but they only send me to physical therapy. I've been through so much with my body being damaged in a car accident in MAY of 2014, I broke my left eye socket. Also both arms and wrists, a worst of all I will never be able to run again. I have severe muscle cramping all over my body. I cant bend my left leg much more than 43%. I haven't had any luck here in Madison, Wi finding a provider to ease my pain. I also broke part of a bone off on my knee, its where my FEMUR meets the PATELLA. Can someone recommend a pain dr or regular dr who will prescribe hydrocodone or something similar and that pharmacies will fill the prescriptions at? I was going to walgreens until all the sudden they couldnt fill anymore and told me my dr has to be affiliated w hospital. I had a wreck in my vehicle and tested positive for alcohol and now I'm unable to get prescribed any narcotics in TN, which I've been on for years, due to the notes from the hospital that treated me. Could I drive to another state and become a PM patient there? I was on a contract with my family dr for over 4yrs he retired and his replacament doesnt believe in them ive tried every thing possible and meds are the only thing thwt has helped I was born disabled and its in my bones and only will be getting worses ## I'm sorry you are in pain. The state I live in is just as bad. I hate to say it but we as a patient have to get a pain management physician. You will also have to have a strict contract with him or her. Unfortunately, pain physicians are being overwhelmed because family physicians will no longer prescribe for anyone. Unless you are lucky enough to find one who does. Pain management Drs in Florida are more concerned about how much THC you have in your body, rather than trying to fix the problem or give you pain meds. I'm on 10mg Roxicodone 4x a day. The dr I have right now is the second one I'm going to lose this year. They don't understand! If he would give me back my soma rx I wouldn't need that. I have found CBD oil now that helps for the reason I used cannabis. I can't take nsaid's for inflammation so I used cannabis to help with that. If you can pay for the appointments needed, then it doesn't matter if you do or do not have insurance, though they may ask you to prove that you can pay for them, or to pay in advance, which is their right. Hey, I recently had an MRI on my back which showed about 5 bulging & messed up disks in my back, also I have early onset of R.A that runs in my family. My PCP said that he would not be the doctor to get me hooked on morphine at 27yrs old, so he wants me to go to a pain management doctor to start inj's. I can't afford the inj's. ($800 per inj.) and I'm not wanting morphine. I’ve been on and off pain meds for many years. I just moved to Fort Smith, Ar and need a doctor who will prescribe me pain meds without acetaminophen. Ones like morphine, OxyContin, or dilaudid. My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. Does anyone know of a compassionate doctor who will prescribe norcos in the Los Angeles area? I have a lower back issue that is inoperable (without consequences) and need them to just be a functioning adult again. ## If you have a serious pain issue and have x-rays, medical records and /or a MRI Dr. Benoush Zarrini is a great pain management doctor, who will work with you in your medications, make sure he knows exactly how much pain you are in!!!!! I am a mother of 3 on medical assistance and have had trouble getting any help with my pain. I've been to several family doctors looking for help but because of this drug epidemic, they treat you like a drug addict and shew you out the door. They don't want to help and don't trust a thing you say. They look at an xray and mri and if there is no obvious sign ofl breakage, fracture or whatever else they look for, they don't trust a word you say. I deal with pain everyday of my life and severe migraines at least once a month and the doctors here are so in fear and are so use to dealing with drug addicts, that they offer no help.
