My husband has a prescription for cyclobenzaprine from 2013 and is haveing an awful muscle spasm can he take one from his old prescription even though it is 2 years old? ## It doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose efficacy, so it most likely won't work as well as it did, when new. He should double check with his doctor, before taking it. The FDA classifies this medication as a muscle relaxant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a bottle of Cyclobenzaprine HCL 5 mg, but it expired on 12/5/2015. i have 2 different types of muscle relaxers that i stored in the same bottle. the 1st is white with DAN on one side and 5658 on the other. the second is tan/orange and has M on one side and 751 on the other. i am assuming they are the same medicine- cyclobenzaprine- in different strengths. which is stronger? ## Both pills in description are Cyclobenzaprine HCl (10 mg). Is Soma a good muscle relaxer? Right now I'm taking Tizanidine which is not working very good. I use to take Soma but they were cutting that out so I just asked for something else. If so, what does it take to harm this muscle? ## In order for it do harm to the heart, per se, you'd have to either have a very bad reaction to it, or overdose on it, by taking too much. Otherwise, yes it is a muscle relaxant and, as such, it can cause depression of the central nervous system, which includes the heart, so it may cause your heart to slow down slightly. This is usually not significant in healthy individuals, with normal heart function. I have an old pms-cyclobenzaprine prescription that I kept in the event I had back spasms again. So today I do and want to know how effective my 7 year old prescription will be. ## While most medications do not become dangerous past their expiration date, they do lose effectiveness over time. Thus, one that's 7 years old is not likely to have much effectiveness left, if any. Your best bet would be to see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took two 750mg Methocarbomal pills and ONE 10mg Cyclobenzaprine HCl pill. I am a 180lbs female at 5'7". I'm worried that it may be too much, but the methocarbomal by itself wasn't easing my pain.
