I am afraid of what is to become of me. Sure Effexor has been less than useful but I've been using it for years. Now the doctor has prescribed Parnate. It seems an established fact I can't use Effexor and Parnate together so I've had severe withdrawal symptoms not-so-affectionately called "brain shivers" on the internet. He slowed down my reduction schedule. Now I'm off Effexor. I feel terrible. Dizzy (I already did, now it's intensified), numb, wobbly, just not "with it". I thought I'd at least take some of the soon to be forbidden fruits, namely pepperoni, beer and my favourite vegetable - chocolate. I can't imagine not having chocolate anymore. Supposedly some of these may spike my blood pressure and I've already had trouble with that. ...

You will find that Pardue has made a deal with the Fed's for over 700 million, over charges stemming from Oxycontin ## Do you have anymore information on this? Such as a link to an article with details? Perhaps an FDA settlement page? We have many users that would be interested in more information on this, since there have been so many problems with the new Oxycontin formulation from Purdue. ## The link ur looking for is on Wikipedia. On Wikipedia search for Purdue Pharma LP 2007 and chek this outlaw Pharmaceutical company out. I was shocked at how many fines they have paid. It's getting close to a billion dollars. Everything from selling on the black market to drug tampering. These folks own Rhodes Pharmaceuticals to whom are tampering with Percocet generic putting Opioid deter...

After trying two antidepressants and multiple therapists, my doctor has decided to prescribe me Topamax for my binge eating disorder. I used to also be bulimic, but thanks to therapy have ceased purging for about six months now. I wanted to get feedback from those whose have been prescribed Tomamax for binge eating disorder and/or bulimia. My binging includes consuming anything edible, including expired items in the trash and edible vitamins/supplements/spices, so it is a very serious case. I will binge to the point of illness and have gotten food poisoning from eating rancid food. Has anyone with binge eating disorder found Topamax to help them? If so, what dosage were you on and how long did it take to get relief? I am afraid to take another medication only to be let down again, but I...

2 wks ago i had a stroke, i am incredibly fit and eat healthy all my doc reports said they had no idea why at a the young age of 40, i would have a stroke. i have no health issues. i decided it's probably the pill since every side effect of any pill is blood clots and strokes. BINGO! I CALLED MY OB AND SHE SAID STOP IMMEDIATELY. i am also CALLING THE FDA # ON THE LOESTRIN SITE FOR THESE TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU END UP IN THE HOSPITAL ## Wow, I am so sorry, that's horrible. However, the possibility of blood clots and stroke happening are true of any hormonal based contraceptive, not just Loestrin. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. I have bad eating binge eating disorder my dr is changing me from lexapro to the med pristiq i also have depression anytime someone in real life has offered me a life line i just ignore them i guess and run away. Please someone I dont know should i change? I did not think this drug was meant for anxiety problems like an ssr? HElp me i am so scared. ## Hi Jamie, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Based on my research, Pristiq (Desvenlafaxine) is in the drug class: Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It is used to treat major depressive disorder in adults. It works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain and could improve your mood, feelings of well-being, and energy level. I imagine that your doctor pre...

I tried Latuda starting a month and half ago. Had a very stressful trip home many variables featuring extreme changes and suffering around me. I thrive on stability. Got extremely distressed and angry and had problems sleeping. I think the medicine actually helped. Have always been very suicidal and was going to get home and shoot myself but did not. Since then had a couple of angry dwelling days but have had seven great productive days in a row now and very hopeful for this medicine. History. I have been on Max Geodon and some wellbutrin for 3 years now and sleeping 12 hours a day. Usually pretty hopeless even though from outside i have great family life. Went on lamictal for awhile and too much anger. Lamictal curbed binge eating as well. I would suggest this medicine for anyone who i...

I take 10 mg hydrocodone daily. I binge drank Saturday night and have been sick in bed with a tremendous hangover for 3 days. Anyone else experienced this? ## Well, mixing alcohol with prescription drugs is NEVER a good idea, it can enhance the side effects and cause exactly what you're experiencing, especially with a narcotic such as Hydrocodone. It is possibly it's been caused by something else, but highly doubtful. Have you tried consulting your doctor? ## Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Some people take Vicodin and drink alcohol to intensify the effect of the hydrocodone. Unfortunately, mixing alcohol and acetaminephin WILL lead to liver damage and eventual liver failure (cirrhosis), which is often fatal. There are warnings on Tylenol or ...

Are there any drs in or near Binghamton ny that aren't scared to wright pain med prescriptions my original dr went out with cancer and ever since then I've had nothing but problems I've been on the same meds for eight years and now with all the people abusing it I'm a target and in severe pain I've lost twenty plus pounds and lost a awsome job cause I have to worry week to week about my pain meds ## The first question is, how are you looking for a doctor? The reason I'm asking is because if you're calling them and asking if they'll prescribe a specific medication, then it is highly likely that you will have problems, because most doctors will consider that drug seeking behavior. I was on H and suboxone binge for the last 2 months I'd take H 3-8 bags for 2-3 days then hold off for 24 hours and take an 8mg suboxone pill to taper (just one dose that would last for 5-7 days. This last week though I needed more suboxone to feel comfortable and did an 8mg, 8mg, 4mg dose and then stopped cold turkey. I had been clean for 5 months and the last year and half with 2 very short relapses. Anyway the first 5 days i felt fine a little fatigued at times, then day 6 I started to get really depressed (like suicidally) in the afternoon and then fell asleep normally but started RLS and kicking around 5am watched tv for 2 hours then napped for one more (So i ended up with a full 8 hours) but then Day 7 I had mild chills and then late afternoon again i felt super depressed and ...

I have been prescribed Topamax for binge eating. This will be my third time taking it. Each time I go off of it I do so believing I can conquer my eating disorder myself; however, I have been unsuccessful in breaking the cycle. Topamax helps me calm my cravings and balance my moods. I have read that it is not as effective the more times one starts and stops the medication. I have only back on the medication a short two weeks and feel a very little difference; perhaps I am inpatient because I know what I did feel like prior to coming off of it. Is anyone aware of its effectiveness once stopped and readministered with regard to binging and weight loss? Thank you. ## Actually, the opposite is usually true, taking a break from a medication helps keep your body from growing tolerant to it, s...

Me and my boyfriend decided we were going to do a binge on pills. He took 20 clonazapam 1 mg and 7 hydrocodone 5/500 in a period of 12 hours...this was on October 11th 2012 he slept great and was functioning properly. He left my house at 8 and went and drank at our friends house. Our friend said he couldn't carry on a two minute conversation without falling asleep. Our friend took him back to his parents and had to practically carry him inside. October 12th I got no response all day and around 8pm I called and his phone is off. It had been off the entire day. It's now October 13th at 6:00 a.m and his phone is still off. He's a really heavy sleeper...I'm just worried. I took 9 and a half 1 mg clonazapams and 5 hydrocodone 5/500's and I slept pretty good and was very d...

I began Vyvanse 4 months ago to help with weight loss and binge eating. The first month was great and I dropped 10 lbs with no side effects. Months 2-4 have also gone well. No binge eating, no craving. In fact I probably consume around 1000 calories a day. But I have only lost 2 lbs in three months. My doc is mystified. All my blood work was fantastic. No thyroid problem at all nor any other reason why I shouldn't be losing weight. Not a heavy drinker, smoke occasionally and am otherwise healthy. Has anyone else had this experience? ## @Feeling desperate, Is weight loss an off-label use for Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine Dimesylate)? I realize it's marketed for treating ADHD and binge eating disorder, however I wasn't sure of the mechanism of action by which weight loss is achiev...

Hi All, I just started 150mg Wellbutrin XR and 25mg zoloft 1 month ago for Binge Eating Disorder. I loved it! Trying to find the right combo though. 2 weeks ago I couldn't sleep at night. So I started Trazadone at night. It's a tad better but it lessens the Wellbutrin affect with my BED. I'm wondering how many take the instant release? Thinking maybe 75mg in the am and then half that the afternoon to help me sleep better. Any ideas? ## That might help, it really depends on what works for you, since all of us are different and may react differently to any given medication. It is something you could speak to your doctor about trying to see if they approve. The typical side effects of Wellbutrin are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia a...

I am and have been taking the generic form of Kadian and MSIR for well over a year now since bing involved in an auto accident which left me with chronic, inoperable pain and which corticostroids did nothing for. Over the last year, my dosage has remained the same at 30 mg every 12 hours. This may change due to an increase in breakthrough pain that is constant.I was switched off the Pain Care Centers choice of medications which was The use of the Fenanyl Patch because of my medicaids State-wide order to exhaust all other forms of Narcotic pain Treatment, those being Morphine and Methadone, which don't cost the government as much as the Patches. Health is my goal and I need a kick start since I am 5'3 and weigh 275. I quit drinking soda, alcohol and binge eating. Still not 1 pound. I'm drinking a lot of water. Not excercizing so much yet. I was just diagnosed with Lupus. I want to shed about 20 pounds before I start excercizing. I haven't had many side effects. Quite honestly I feel like I am taking a sugar pill. Maybe this is not for me. Has anyone had luck with Belviq? Or Saxenda? ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? Every medication on the market works for some people, but not for all, that's just the nature of the human body, because we are all different. I've been taking contrave for 3 months. I am having mild success. I've only lost five pounds. However, I'm not binge eating. It has also reduced my migraines. I'm scheduled for a routine evaluation for colonoscopy in about three weeks (turned 50). My doctor requested that I stop taking Contrave two weeks before the procedure. He cited new regulations that state patients should cease the use of weight loss drugs during this procedure. When I've researched this statement, the term "diet drugs" seems to be defined as ephedrine and Belviq. I know that Contrave is new and some doctors are unfamiliar with the new drug. The procedure does require sedation, but there will not be any other medication. Do I really need to stop taking Contrave before this procedure? If ...

I am getting a lot of nausea, slow heart beat, very hot hands and hot face, occasional sharp, sudden pin like sensation - also weirdly getting 3 day binge hangover "delicate" feeling which I never get unless I have actually enjoyed the aforesaid. But I dont' want to stop taking as I am on day 3 following DVT treatment. I am taking the DM version of Heparin - self-injecting. Did anyone else suffer from similar symptoms? ## My mom was given heparin in the hospital and her hemoglobin dropped to 8.3 and her liver enzymes started elevating. Should that medicine be stopped because of liver enzymes?

I am finishing up my fourth week on contrave. The first two weeks were pretty brutal with all of the terrible side effects. But my appetite was definitely diminished and I did not have the urge to binge eat. Now that I am on week four most of the side effects are gone but I also don't feel like contrave is working at all. My appetite is almost back to normal, I think about food all the time. I'm pretty disappointed. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Yes, most people do report experiencing a period of time where it seems to stop working, for a brief period, but then starts again, after a few weeks. (This is going by user reports as posted online.) The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, nervousness, headache, and insomnia. How are you do...
