im taking apo atennol 50mg beta blocker but stil thesame my bp 160/90,but i can't use otheres brand bcoz im getting palpitation,my cholesterol is 191 my LDL,im not taking treatment for cholesterol bcoz its to expensive ## What about trying something other than a beta blocker? There are other types of blood pressure medications on the market. I had similar type issues with the regular, straight beta blockers and the palpitations could just be due to your blood pressure being so high. You might want to check and see if Labetalol is available up there, it really helped me a lot when I had problems with the other medications and it stopped the palpitations for me, as well. I am 60+. I have been prescribed by a Doctor to have half of Aten 25mg after break-fast. I have been on this medication since 7 years. I am keen to know if it has any side effect. I thank if some one can give me the answer. ## Did you mean to ask about long term effects? Because side effects only last for a short while, as your body adjusts to a medication.
