I have had amyloidosis in the past and was treated with Velcade and Decadron Are there other treatments? ## Hello, Jerrie! How are you? Chemotherapy drugs are usually used to treat it, most commonly Mephalan with the steroid Dexamethasone. Side effects can include nausea, dizziness, hairless and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was diagnosed with Myeloma and AL Amyloidosis in May 2016. After taking a lot of medication for 7 months, fortunately my condition went into remission and I was taken off all drugs which included Revlimid in December 2016. I am now 10 months into remission but I have lost the taste of food. Although it has improved slightly it is still there. When will it come back. Has anyone experienced a similar problem. LH ## Still have the loss of taste. Anyone experienced this and what to do!

Should Amiodarone 200mg Tab ZYD be prescribed to someone diagnosed with Amyloidosis? My amyloidosis is causing a very irregular heart beat, stiffness in my wrist, legs & jaw. I have taken Amiodarone for one day (3 pills) and stiffness appears to be worse & was unable to sleep. I have a history of being very sensitive to medications. ## It is normal to experience some side effects, whenever you start a new medication. The FDA lists those as being possibly side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. Having only taken 3 pills, it would be very odd to notice a significant change, but we are all different, so the possibility cannot be ruled out. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

This is my first time on this site and i am hoping there is someone who can help me. I am 24 years old and I've been diagnosed with primary amyloidosis. It is a terminal illness and I am serious in need of help. I need a doctor that will prescribe pain medication as I am in an inordinate amount of pain daily.
