I ha e an old bottle of oxicodone 5mg that I have been keeping for a rainy day. Well, I just had surgery and the pills are now almost 7 years old. Can I still use them? I live in the desert, so it's very dry. Thanks, ## Hi Alice, While I usually don't condone the use of expired medication, there are several reports (namely one from Harvard University as well as one from the LA Times Newspaper) confidently stating that many medications still retain up to 90% of the active ingredients after 28 to 40 years past their official expiration dates. Hydrocodone was among those medications listed in the LA Times study, and even though Oxycodone was not, my understanding is that it probably still works just fine depending on how it was stored. So in cases like this it seems as though you w...

I am unable to find a pharmacy that has my prescription (Oxycodone 15mg, 120count)! Please help me find out the problem with locating a pharmacy that has this script., can u tell me if & or what the problem with manufacturers of this drug? Thank you for your help! ## Dear Ms. Loretta, I think that the reason why you can not find Oxycodone 15mg is that it only comes in 5,10.20 etc. mgs. I have never heard of 15 mgs or any other Oxycodone that ends with 5mgs. Check with your doctor to make sure that the script is right. Or, I may be wrong. Is there anyone else that have ever heard of 15mgs of Oxycodone. Please enlighten me also Thanks everyone. ## I am in OH and have been on oxy 5/324 mg for about 3 yrs. I just filled a script yesterday that is 15 mg. It is a very small light green pi...

Does anyone know if suboxine can be used for pain. i have fibromylgia and have ruptured disks and pinched syacitia nerves. im currently on 3 5mg of loritabs and 3 300mg of neurotin a day for pain mag. but it dosnt really work most days. i tried suboxin one day and it helped my pain much more than my meds. was i imagining it or does it really help. ## Suboxone can help with pain, although it's probably not nearly as potent as other narcotic pain meds. It could be that you had imagined it to be more potent than other previous treatment options. I believe your thoughts are just as real as what's in front of you. Has anyone else had success using Suboxone for pain? ## I have been using oxi for over a year.I have an extremly bad back 30 years hiking but my addictive tendencies made i...

I'm taking 1 tablet by mouth twice a day of Carvedilol 3.125 mg. and lisinopril 2.5 mg 1 tablet by mouth every day. Is possible take oxicodone 5 mg imm rel capsules for pain? Thanks ## Yes! I was on the Carvedilol and Lisinopril, when I ended up in the emergency room for an attack of gastritis and the doctor prescribed me a few days worth of 5mg Oxycodone to help the pain. The only thing you have to watch for is that narcotics, such as Oxycodone, can also lower your blood pressure, so taking it with the other medications can sometimes result in it dropping too low. Therefore, you should be monitored or monitor it yourself, while using these medications together. Are there any questions or comments?

Are there short term release 40mg oxicodone ## Hello, Manny! How are you? No, the instant release Oxycodone is only available in a 5mg Capsule. The others are either the regular release that take 15 to 20 minutes to start working or the time released Oxycontin that is slowly released over a 12 hour period. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

what is it liike to come off oxicotten ## Hello, Sam! How are you? The Watson tablet with the 3202 on it isn't an Oxycontin tablet, it is listed as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Coming off of it depends on how much you were taking and for how long. Can you please post back with more details?

Was on Norco 10-325 on and off for a few years due to back problems. Had l4/l5 Laminectomy and was sent home with 5mg oxicodone. It's been 16 days since surgery and I tapered down from 2.5 yesterday. Last one last night at 10 pm. Withdrawals kicked in at 2:30 pm today! Not too bad. But the abdominal pain is bad when the immodium wears off. How long will this last and will it get better or worse physically tomorrow and the next day? No RLS yet. Is it comming???? I want to be done! ## Just wondering how your withdrawal experience went? I weaned the exact same way Im down to 2.5 mg tomorrow for two days then Im done. Just curious what Im in for?! ## I found the rebound pain to be the worst problem, when I stopped pain management, but I didn't taper. I just stopped. But I had extrem...

I am suffering from hair loss problem. Now I am taking H hit Forte tablet. Does it has any side effect. It contains Biotin 10mg L-cysteine (as HCL) 10mg Zinc oxide ( Elemental zinc) 25mg Manganese sulphate monohydrate 5mg Cupric oxide 2mg Sodium selenite unhydrous 40mcg As it contains minerals I doubt to have kidney stone problems ## Hello, Vishant! How are you? Some of these supplements can cause nausea and diarrhea, due to their potency, as reported by the U.S. FDA. However, whether or not it helps your hair loss depends on whether or not it has been caused by a deficiency in one of the vital nutrients that it contains. If it is due to natural aging, or genetics, it will not help. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had a nasal turbinate reduction surgery two weeks ago. After that, I developed shortness of breath and found blood oxygen level fluctuating between 81-98 per oximeter. Whenever it hit below 90, I wake up from the sleep at night. I have been taking blood pressure medicine Benecar 20mg/ Amlodipine 5mg/ Hydroclorot 12.5mg for years. I also took Cephalexin 500mg two times a day for 8 days after the surgery. Any clue on why this is happening ? ## Have you ever had a sleep study done? You might be experiencing sleep apnea. According to NIH reports, it can cause these types of symptoms. Is there some reason you are checking your blood oxygen level regularly? If so, your doctor might suspect such an issue, since this is not a normal thing usually done. Do you have high blood pressure, or a ca...

I was on Oxy Ir 5, taken off market, then put on oxycodone capsule tan brown, now they are not avaliable, substituted 5mg QLT. do not work. are all of the capsule..even 15mg off market? what is still avaliable? ## I too was on the capsules and now my pharmacy can no longer get them and I have been switched to tablets. Part of the FDA's war on drugs. The only war is being waged on chronic pain sufferers. ## I agree with the effectiveness of OXIR - I was never told that it was not available, but instead the tablet was a substitution. Does anyone know if the capsules have been permanently discontinued?? If so, I shall have to switch to another medication. Very sad for those of us trying to live with chronic/acute debilitating pain. Thanks!! ## i had shoulder surgery and was given oxy 5...
