i am 45 years old, diabetic since the past 3-4 years. my sugar levels are very erratic - fasting 130 - 220 at times. i take zoryl-m1 two times a day - once on an empty stomach in the morning and second time in the night before going to bed. i have recently noticed that the tablets do not get dissolved in my body. they come out on my stool the next day. what could be the possible reasons fr this? is there need to worry?

Hello, Resham! How are you?

No, there is nothing to worry about, the outer shell of the tablet is not intended to be dissolved, according to the manufacturer, Intas Pharmaceuticals, however, all of the medication is still released. This method is used by some manufacturers to help control how much of the medication is released over time, to avoid your getting too much of the medication, at once.

The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia.

As to your sugar levels, if you read the pages about diabetes on the website for the National Institutes of Health, you will discover that it will never remain at any one constant level. That's why there is a certain range that's considered normal, rather than one specific number. It will vary, depending on what you've eaten, your activity levels, and etc. If you have sugary foods, or a high fat meal, that will cause it to be elevated.

Is there anything else I can help with?
