I've been takin zolpidem E 79 for a while n works great. But my local pharmer filled my script wit the purple round pill with M Z2 on it. I no they should work but I jus took my 2nd one in bout 2 hrs while I'm writing this. Is it jus me or r the purple ones weaker. Like I said I'm wide awake this sux.

So true and if you want to know if the pill is coated or time released: If it's scored or uncoated it can generally be broken down, except potassium, and maybe a couple more that aren't a narcotic, but those will be marked on bottle if you have access. Potassium must be dissolved or given intravenously I believe. Also to add to your comment that is actually the most educational and useful message I've seen ever haha. The reason pills are coated or capsuled is because without example .... A proper breakdown the pill can release to soon. Bad example but Tylenol is coated I believe ... It's not going to work 100 percent if it's dissolved before it's in the stomach where it's actually then absorbed. Other wise your just taking something and ultimately wasting if you need breakthrough treatment ... I hope that makes sense half asleep! Read the bottles. And Dr notes all should say either they can be crushed or "do not crush" on label if you must. But taking it as given is always the most effective.

I also have been taking ambien generic white pill for quiet a while just changed Ins. So with that came a new Dr. she gave me the purple ambien I took it 3 hours ago and I’m still wide awake and it’s now 1:30 am.. the purple brand is most def weaker..

Yea not sure why but I usually take the 12mg version and I sleep like a baby. Since I haven't slept for s*** in 4-5 days I was really looking forward to some sleep...wrong, took 3 of those little purple ones over a period of 3 hrs and I didn't even get a nap!! I thought it was just me, but my buddy takes 2 and is drooling on himself. Sorry this ain't what you wanted to hear but at least I know it wasn't just me. Good luck.

I have the same problem. I don't know what it is with this little purple mz2 pill, but it doesn't work for me either. After seeing your complaint, I'm going to complain to the pharmacist. I wonder how many other people are having the same problem????

This is very upsetting getting this generic junk does not work the main compound is weak or non existence. The pharmacies should not be allowed to bait n switch. I goggled this manufacture and customer comments says it's fake and I believe it. I want my $$ back.

You guys are experiencing mind over matter. While the MZ2 generic MAY OR MAY NOT have a 20% in active ingredient. I've been taking Ambien for 9 years straight now and while I like how I can break the oblong tablets 5 dot dice on them in half (so I could take one half with some beer and take the other half to go to sleep) the purple MZ2 tablets are just as strong for me. Again, been taking this for 9 years, I'm pretty sure I could tell a difference.

I always used the ones withTeva on them. My pharmacy now uses the my lab co. The zopidem works not one bit. They say they use one manufacturer at a time. The only thing I can do is call around to different pharmacies when I get a refill. Mylan is sorry.

I mine through the VA. At the pharmacy the give me the white bar ones through the mail they just now started giving me the violet ones. So far on these violet ones have had me sleep walking, driving, horrible hiccups that feel like a alien is about to burst through my chest and yes. I just do not seam to get tired. Never getting the violet ones again after this script.

It is NOT JUST YOU. I had my Ambien generic filled at Sam's Club and while the price was definitely cheaper I also received the purple MZ to stamped pills and I am here to tell you that they absolutely suck. I will never again fill any prescription at Sam's club. They also gave me a generic Xanax that were green colored instead of the standard blue footballs. I took these green Xanax and they were absolutely horrendous. I did a Google search and the green Xanax were made by Dava pharmaceuticals and they are widely known to be terrible. In fact I threw away my entire bottle and that'll tell you something because Xanax is a medication that helps me with my anxiety and the blue footballs are a life-changing kind of prescription where as these green pills absolutely suck. So to recap you are correct the MZ2 Ambien pills are terrible. I took up to three after the first one did not work and they still did absolutely nothing. I was wide-awake the entire night. Make sure that you use CVS or a better pharmacy that dispenses quality generic alternatives. For 1 mg Xanax I paid $21 at CVS and received the blue footballs which were worth every single penny. Sam's Club makes a lot of money by selling cheap alternatives, the problem is that the pills absolutely don't work. Do yourself a favor and make sure if you are getting generic medications they are getting the best of the generics that are available and for my money CVS or target have been the best options.

I have been taking the mz2 ambien for a week now instead of the white bar ambien, my pharmacy used to fill. I have been cutting them in half, because the coating is hard and probably doesn't dissolve. It's been working fine for me.

Hello to all my fellow insomniacs :) I am on Zolpidem on and off since my hysterectomy 2006 and so far the best Zolpidem is the one from Mylan ! Thanks Mylan !10 stars I will give to this version which I had accidentally discover when Costco switch to, so they marked my prescription chart to get me refill for only Mylan manufacturer. The work well if chewed so some nights I had to take just a 1 mg or so.There is no side effects like I used to have from the others Zolpidems. The oval pills are the worst for me!!! Good luck
