Eddy, I was ONLY referring to myself on Medical Marijuana. I use to live where it was legal and it done more for me then anything else has. I didn't know about Marinal until just recently. My friend takes the Marinal pill for his Depression and Chronic Pain and he can finally walk and have a life now. When he was in Pain Management the Strong and Addictive Narcotics they gave to him did absolutely NOTHING for him. My opinion is that it's your own body and you should have the choice to take what best suites your quality of life...I wish I could move back from where I use to live but it's impossible for me now unfortunately. Take Care...

Hello, I know you wrote this 4 years ago but I was hoping you would get this and could give me details on how you tapered off. I've been on 0.5mg klonopin nightly for 10 months and have had two different doctors tell me tapering is not necessary, when all these forums say it definitely is!

Pot has always been available in a Pill. I heard they are terrible. I live in a tiny town of 5000 and we have 2 Pot stores, and countless others will deliver!

I SO WISH THAT MORE PEOPLE WOULD REALIZE THAT CANNABIS IS SO BENEFICIAL AND IT NOW COMES IN A PILL FORM. IT HELPS WITH CHRONIC PAIN, DEPRESSION, ETC. I CERTAINLY WISH I HAD OF CHOICE OF EITHER BEING ON NARCOTICS OR CANNABIS......

.125 reductions are much better than 1/4 hold for at least three weeks or more on each reduction... I am almost free it has taken years to reduce from 2mg daily... DO NOT RUSH... BE DILIGENT... DO NOT USE OTHER MEDs it will make it worse!!! Melatonin helps with insomnia I use 10mg...but now I sleep only 4 hrs at most it is difficult... night sweats, aching neck and shoulders , anxiety, headaches, tension... BUT BE RESOLUTE...DO NOT GIVE IN TO THE WDs...TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE!!!

I was on Clonazepan for 7 years and it was hell to get off of but I did it! One of the wore experiences of my life! With that in mind tapernvery slow! I can not stress that more, even if it takes a year to come off. Your body especially your brain needs to adjust very very slow! Find a support system or a prayer partner to help you especially with your sleepless nights. There is nothing, not even Melatonin or other natural drugs that can even help with that because nothing can go up or compare to what that drug does to your body. As I was going through withdrawl I almost wished I would have went to a rehab it was so bad. Nobody warned me about this so I didn't know what to expect. I would taper down and hold it for at least 4 weeks until you arre stable then cut again. It is very important that you get a very accurate dosage while tapering. Cutting the pill in half using thenline on the pill is fine but you need to ask the Dr when you need to cut it in fours for the accurate dosage! If you are a working woman this is going to be hard to do if you have a job. I don't mean to scare you but this is a very hard thing to do, one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life! Prayers going up for you!

I have been taking 1.5 mg Klonopin for 20 years for a panic disorder. My doctor will be retiring in six months and I asked him the best method to wean myself off of Klonopin as I don't know of any doctor that would prescribe Klonopin to me and I also want to stop taking this drug. My doctor said to reduce my daily dosage by .25 mg each week. Based on what I've read in this chat room, I think this may be too quick in order to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms. I thought it may be better to reduce my daily intake by .125 mg (which would be 1/4 of a pill since my pills are .5 mg). Does this sound reasonable to folks who have tapered off of Klonopin? Has anyone tapered off of Klonopin without substituting another drug such as Valium? I asked my doctor about using Valium to help with the tapering process and he said that he has done that for other patients but it made things more complicated and so he was not willing to do this for me. Many years ago I was prescribed Valium for anxiety/panic disorder and it took me almost a year to taper off of Valium so it may be good that I don't take Valium to help with tapering off of Klonopin. I just pray that the withdrawal effects will be something I can handle. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated as I am already feeling a lot of panic about starting this tapering regiment. Thank you all for your support.

Benzodiazepan( klonopin) is in the benzo family . When I went to detox the people they had on high alert we're. The ones commming off the benzo's and alcohol because u can die just from the withdrawal. I did it by dropping a 1/4 every 3days but I was on them for a shorter period of time you should pick a day pref a mon and go down to 3/4 the following mon. Drop down to a half and so on

STOP TAKING IT DON"T USE BENZOS THEY ARE EVIL RXs They CREATE the very PROBLEMS we wish to Avoid...
Try Yoga, meditation, Kava kava, herb tea, exercise., intercourse , do anything ELSE to reduce anxiety... NOT BENZOS... If ya can't sleep refer to the above, or sleepy time tea, or melatonin... DON'T become a JUNKIE

Hi, I have been taking klonopin only when I feel like I'm going to have anxiety. I didn't want to take it everyday because I didn't want to feel like I depended on it, like I was addicted to it and I don't have anxiety everyday so I thought why take it that much. Reading everyone's comments I'm realizing I shouldn't be doing that, but I would like to know what side affects can it cause by taking it this way.. Lately I been getting irregular heart beats so I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the klonopins? If so what do I do now?

Once your off of clonazopam doctors DONOT like to prescribe it again. You'll be running around searching for a doctors who would and by them they'll see you as a pill chaser just to get high and suggest detox and rehab

I already explained that you MUST START TAKING IT AGAIN... at 0.50 MG fro 3 months to allow your body to stabilize!!! Then begin weaning at 1/4 tab reduction per holding for 3 wks each time... COMPLAINING DOESN'T GET IT DONE, ACTIONS DO!!

Everyone who is trying to get off Klonopin should be getting on some other type of medicine whether its for depression, anxiety or another type of problem they may have. Not something that is considered a narcotic. Unfortunately you need to see a Psychiatrist to find out what you need. If you are doing the long route, slowly decreasing Klonopin, do it SLOW. My husband is taking a new medicine for his anxiety and will either detox from Klonopin in a hospital or do it slowly over time but at least he is getting help for his anxiety issue.

There is always hope! You stopped two years ago and currently experience these problems? At least you didn't have a stroke or die. However it sounds like you should be taking something.
