No as long as you speed them far apart. It also depends on how much suboxone you take., however most people take suboxone for opiate addiction. Normally you would have to wait at least 24 hours after taking 1 suboxone to take any type of narcotics. Otherwise the suboxone will block the narcotics and you will not get any relief from the pain pill. But in no way shape or form should you mix the two. You could get very I'll or die. I'm on suboxone for opiate addiction and I just had 9 teeth pulled. I'm in sever pain. I could take the prescription in that my dentist gave me but it wouldn't have any affect on me. At least not for a few days.

I just read your post and I am having literally all my teeth pulled and dental implants put in all in one day. My oral surgeon says he's had many patients on sub come to him n they work it out. I talked to my sub doc and he said to go ahead and take the pain pills. He prescribed 40 5/325 hydrocodone and to take 4 a day after surgery. Said to take my last 8mg of sub the morning before my surgery and make sure the anesthesiologist knows I'm on sub as well so he can adjust accordingly. But my surgery is in 10 days now. I tried what my doc said, didn't take sub for about 30 hours before I finally took 2 of the hydrocodone. I had a ridiculously high tolerance to opiates before sub. Have been on 8-20mg of sub a day for 4 months. Anyway, I took 2 hydrcodone at a time every 6 hours n felt no pain relief and wd from sub on top of that! I do have other serious pain issues that the sub barely helps with. Not like any other agonist did by any means. But it takes the edge off enough to function for my family. So bottom line is, should I ask my doctor to give me something stronger or will that not even work? My oral surgeon said all his patients having this procedure end up takin pain meds for at least a couple days and I should expect black eyes n bruises all over my face and swelling. Yay...ha! Trying to stay positive because I am actually excited about getting this procedure done. But I also can't stand any mouth pain. How did your recovery end up? Sorry...I tend to write novels.

The Buprenorphine in Suboxone tends to take a stronger hold on the opiate receptors than the Oxycodone in Percocet, so it usually blocks it from having any effect, while someone is being treated with Suboxone, or Subutex, as the other poster has already stated.

The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Generally, they must be spread apart by several days, and only with doctor's approval.
