Diabetes is a medical term that's used to describe a disease in which someone's body is unable to control the levels of sugars in their bloods on its own, it leads to the levels regularly going higher and higher, especially after meals that are dense in fats, sugars and carbohydrates. Over the long term, it can cause severe organ and never damage, which may result in death. The NIH has several great articles about it, if you'd like to research and read more.
Treatment usually involves, diet, exercise and medications that help the body make better use of simple sugars.
