I was on suboxone 2 mg 2x a day for 4 years. I stopped cold turkey due to a request from and death of my father. 16 days until I could sleep more than 2 hours.. Days 1-5 weren't as bad as 6-14. After that it was restless legs.. Fatigue, depression, anxiety, depression again... Not until I began. Sleeping 6+ hours did most of it go away.. Still have depression and restless legs not almost 2 months later and everyday around my normal second dose time I notice I get very tired. F*** suboxone. Do not use it for more than a detox. Save yourself. If I could go back and withdraw off dope or methadone, I'd have stuck with them and not been a p**** and use sub's as a crutch. The "substance abuse" doctors give 0 s***s about you. Its all a business. $$$$

Unfortunately, after being on it for years and then stopping cold turkey, it is normal to experience withdrawal effects and some of them can linger for quite awhile. During withdrawal, you may also experience rebound pain, depression and diarrhea, as reported by the FDA.

Usually, someone is gradually tapered off of it to prevent the severe withdrawal symptoms. Methadone is actually even harder to stop taking, which is why many people end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it.

I am very sorry that you were so miserable, but it is normal for opiates to be habit forming.

Thank you for sharing your experience with others, perhaps you'll save someone the misery that you went through.

Is there anything I can help with?
