Suboxone And Pre Employment Drug Screen (Page 6) (Top voted first)

I am prescribed suboxone for an opiate addiction maintenance program. First, will it show up in a ten panel test? Second, can an employer discriminate if they have already offered me the job? Third, is this violating any privacy laws?

Sorry Dave I had no problem with your post...I felt Ash's post regarding mine was wrong. If it was about your post, that's his business, but I had no problem with it. Typing on a mobile device in a car with autocorrect can cause mistakes that are not the writer's fault.... can't always proofread. every post!

Purple Frog, I stated that my post was not directed at you. I would've clarified initially but I assumed it was obvious to who it was directed to. My issue isn't about the grammar wiyh DAVID'S post, if that is also not evident I think my time is being wasted here.

I half to take a physical and drug screen for a job. I live in Roanoke Va. Does anybody know if they will test for it? I dont consume marijuana or anything else. I'm just worried about the subs. Can anybody help? Please

Suboxone contains a synthetic opiate (buprenorphine) and will NOT show up on a drug test as opiates. There is however a special test for buprenorphine, although in most cases it is rarely used. You should have seen a suboxone or methadone doctor Immediately when you found out you were pregnant! I don't remember if you said you were buying suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) or if you said subutex (just buprenorphine), because the naloxone can be harmful to the fetus and pregnant women should only take subutex. Also the doctors at the hospital should have been aware of your medications as to prevent complications in the baby from detox.

Well no sab. Will not show up on a preemployment ui. Plus you have a script. But i would not tell anybody bout the sab cuz the reason its taken and yes you mite be discrimated againsed. Plus i think that would be a part of need to.know and the new job dnt, unless there is now other way.

Yes, Suboxone contains the narcotic Buprenorphine, so it will show up on a test.

No, they cannot discriminate, that is illegal.

And no, it does not violate any privacy laws. You do not have to discuss with them why you are on it.

You just need to inform them that you are on it, when you go in to have the test. They have the right to verify that it is being used under a doctor's orders and it will, more than likely, negate that part of the drug screen test.

I have been on suboxen for quite a while but I am clean from heroin for almost 4 yrs. I have a drug test on Tuesday morning at 10 am. Its now sunday around 5 pm. I don't have a valid prescription for suboxen I need to know how do I make sure my urine comes back clean.
