Rimadyl For Human Use (Page 3) (Top voted first)
UpdatedJust wondering if this drug is prescribed for human use to relieve joint pain?
Is it harmful if actually taken by mistake
Tramadol/Ultram has been classified by the FDA as a narcotic!
Tramadol is a schedule 4 narcotic.
What if took 50 mg of Dogs Rimadyl by accident, is this poisonous to human?
Tramadol is for pain, but is not an anti inflammatory...
I have a large lab who needs anti inflammatory, but carprofen is very expensive. Any other anti inflammatory that can be substituted? My vet is stumped.
Re: Jolie (# 20)
Tramadol is simply a pain reliever though..it does nothing for inflammation except maybe it will help your pup relax, and therefore let them sleep..so inflammation will go down because they’ve been sleeping! And I’m not trying to sound pretentious or anything, I only know this because one of my Danes sprained a couple of toes and our vet prescribed carprofen, and I asked why not tramadol and she told me because it only helps with pain, and carprofen’s main use is to reduce inflammation. So, while it helps, it’s like taking DayQuil when you have a cold, ya know? Also, to other people saying the carprofen is super expensive, I think I paid maybe $15 for 25qty, 100mg pills. Maybe it’s because my vet has certain scripts on site and doesn’t have to send it to a pharmacy? Anyways, hope this helps! ??????
Re: dano (# 5)
is safe for humans as NSAID but not commercially valuable.
Re: thinkaboutit (# 22)
Tramadol is commonly prescribed to canines. Check your facts.
Did you ever think that some dog meds that are perfectly safe on humans ,, are used by people due to there lower PRICE !!!!! BUT instead You Being a Armchair Psychiatrist can diagnose Disease over the Internet /// Which IS a FEDERAL OFFENSE !!!
I have a 5kg dog on 10mg of carprofen per day .what can I give him as an alternative as I can't afford it.i believe I can give him a human drug alternative easily and cheaply from a chemist?what amount of aspirin is equal
Tramadol is NOT a narcotic. It is an anti-inflammatory. Vets do prescribe it but not often due to it not being tolerated well (stomach/gastrointestinal issues).
did you ever hear of accidents, why jump to smart assed replies?
