Rimadyl For Human Use (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedJust wondering if this drug is prescribed for human use to relieve joint pain?
I am having severe pain in neck and can't get to Dr till tomorrow! I have rimadyl for my dogs! Can I take it?
ibruprofen will destroy your dogs kidneys quite rapidly - so if you give this to your dog you will be killing it! if you have already given ibruprofen to your dog then you need to get it to a vet and have a blood test to establish liver and kidney functions. you also need reporting to animal welfare if you have given this to your dog for being a very naive and thoughtless person!
I'm sorry, but just a quick reminder to all....my previous weimaraner Layla is like my child....i know discussion forums help....but i would NEVER give my dog ANYTHING regardless unless i talked to a veterinarian...certain simple otc pain meds can give dogs and cats deathly side effects ....it's not a risk i would ever take...I'm a Pre-Veterinary Medicine Bachelor of Science in Biology and chemist major and know a great deal....BUT STILL would never do anything without asking my vet...they are not all out for money and WILL tell you a cheaper otc solution unlike many actual human doctors....my dog IS like my child....why take the chance or ask a forum? My friends dog got into and ate an entire box of rat poison and was just fine and never even went to the vet, does that mean all dogs could do the same and be okay?? HELL NO....just be smart and ask a professional....i could never take that chance...if you could then that's on you....just saying the facts people...
Don't use it
Tramadol *is* now a narcotic and became a schedule 4 control federally in August 2014.
I don't see how asking what the harm can be to humans is sounding like someone is looking to abuse the drug???
My dog just got put on this, hope it works for his pain and yes very cheap
I had laid Rimadl pill on table for my dog - and mine pills too, I took my pills and when I was going to give dog hers, it was missing so I must have taken it with mine. I'm 83 and it scared me so I searched your web page. Some replies made me feel safe. Thank you.
....And you can share your tramadol script with your dog and he can share with you. Time and money saving!
I am a human with alsots of arthritis. I have a bad stomach and ulcers from ibuprofen and other meds the docs have been stuffing down me. Sounds as i this may be a good fix for me.
It is classed as a narcotic and has no anti-inflammatory properties at all.
will it hurt a human to take rimaydal
My 16 year old dog started showing signs of extreme pain. Her vet saw her last week. He discovered a significant heart murmur which he began a medication for. He feels that since her pain is all over her body, most likely it's arthritis and he began giving her inj's. for that and he also gave her Rimadyl 25mg once every 24 hrs to help until the inj. is working. She weighs 15lbs. She has seemed like a different dog, feeling so much better. So tonight when I picked her up, she growled at me which is her way to let me know she's hurting a lot. I can't get to a doctor tonight and I called a 24 pet ER and they can't answer my questions over the phone..I understand that but I don't want Pepper to suffer all night. My question is would it be safe to give her half of one of the 25mg right now. She took the last 25mg pill 12 hrs ago. Please help answer my question. Thank you so much.
My thirteen year old lab is on tramadol or ultram. Same thing. 50 mg. It's a lot cheaper cause your vet can call it into Walmart. He gets 3 twice daily. My 10 month old just got hit by a car this week and only thing helping is ultram as cheap as ibu. Don't give your dog non prescribed nsaids you will kill it. 180 for the month is 24$ at Walmart and he is 110 pds that's max dose.
No, very unsafe in dogs. It causes gastric ulcers and worse. Please do not use ibuprofen in dogs.
Our vet prescribed Rimadyl for our 100 lb Akita cross. It was expensive, but on the vet's advice, we switched to a 325mg bufferin once a day with her dinner. It helped immensely and cost so much less.
no no no and i repeat no! do not give your dog aspirin advil alive tylenol ibuprofen anything like that can cause major irreversible liver damage
Do not give your dog ibuprofen, naproxen or Tylenol. You will cause a slow and painful death.
Sometimes a guy likes to go thru it with his dog before he dies!!!
I laughed out loud! Those can be fun side effects!
