Prozac (fluoxetine) Effects

I've been on fluoxetine for 6 months, starting off on 20mg and now on 60mg for my ocd. I also take seroquel 75mg daily spread out. Recently i have started to feel really high, like coming up on "xtc". I went to the doctors and they referred it to be SAD seasonal affective disorder, but i feel like its to do with the medication. I feel very spaced, clenched jaw constantly, dizzy and blurred vision. I'm just wondering if anyone else has felt similar?

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your medications. I am on 80mg prozac and 300mg seroquel a day. I was taking 25mg seroquel twice daily and the 300mg at night but I found that the prozac was all I needed during the day and stopped taking the 25mg during the day but kept my nightly 300mg of seroquel. The 25mg during the day would make me tired and weak. I found out the seroquel is wonderful at night it helps me sleep. You may want to talk with your doctor and try switching the times you take it. I guess with all meds you just have to test it and see what works for you. I have found for me that my prozac works great when I take it at lunch time. I tried it at different times and it seemed to have minor side effects that caused me trouble. Make sure your doctor does labs regular while your on the seroquel. Seroquel hasn't been out long enough to know the long term effects it can do on your system.. Hope this helps...

Prozac makes your nervous system and other areas uptake serotonin called selective serotonin uptake inhibitors. Serequal has the same thing in it plus antihistamine dopaminergic acting on neurotransmitters and modulators thus locking you into a controlled reaction mood and mind experience "xtc" has its effect similar to selective serotonin repack inhibitors. Serotonin makes you feel good, chocolate has natural similar high. Now problem is overheating of the brain due to these and serequal wagons will take you on the most unpleasant trip to fear ragemurderous or suicidal desires. my epersonal journey and volunteer in mental health recovery since 1998. Muscles will stiffen and adrenal function starts to alter, ecg results for heart show changes. I've even spoken with the serequal pharmaceuticals rep about its recommended use. Alot different then the prescribed fashion it's experimented on people by psyches dr's etc who have no idea of its side effects. It takes a long time to get the neurotransmitters to return to normal after weaning down. Rep said 6 weeks trial and was never trialled on people for more than 6 months. Immune system and hormones are majority affected. Who ever put you on both obviously has no idea that the levels of serotonin are getting higher from bot as it is like doubling the Prozac hence "xtc" type but but then the dopamine and antihistamine effect kicks the adrenals like speed and it's no fun. Heron uses will by it on black market for buzz, but seriously your risk is serotonin overload, overheating the brain, call malignant neurological syndrome. I've had it its life threatening don't stop anything abruptly slowly these meds have to be weaned out of your system. Get a professional who know there stuff. Serequal is anti psychotic treatment for schizophrenia. Low dose 25 mg is suppose to be great to treat anxiety panic attacks. Yet it builds up and the to much serotonin or like any trip if bad environment it can cause psychotic episodes. It's the meds not you, but they will label you with new diagnosis and instead of looking at side effects as the cause you'll be given another drug. It's a f****kd journey trust me I know I was there and so many others have been on the most horrific journey at the hands of practice imported psych training at experimental hospitals. Get you BP checked and an ecg done as heart can get damaged. Also as stated get a recommended psych to not prescribe because that's all they seem to want or get paid by drug companies to do. Mention the serotonin levels and if you hot cold faint or dizzy. Weak muscles stiff spasms or go out to it and then everything goes so racy your eyes hyperspace to impressions. I don't mean to scare you I want you to know that side effects are the cause and are very often never noticed or blamed by the prescribes. Google serequal and Prozac print out adverse effects underline all the ones you have and seek help to get off the s*** serequal is a dangerous medication. No joke, it stores in your body fat and will kick in as you exercise or burn fat and you'll be wondering what the he'll was in the water you just drank as the modulators are at the junctions of nerves all over your body from gut to joints to muscles to heart. Hope this helps all you on it to review your need for it and the fact it was only trialled for 6 months on humans before release its potential use long term is dangerous as it down regulates your immune system and hormone,endocrine, system. These not only fight infection, cancer, etc but make you feel good and regulate sugar metabolism, hormones, cholesterol and adrenal and nonoradrenaline. Flight and fight responses. And feedback system to brain tells hypothalamus to alter aldosterone and antidiuretic hormone and over time odeama fluid retention and BP problems occur but you over heat and water is needed for all neurochemical reactions, hence dry mouth sign and glucose diabetes can also result. Seek help get of them. Try a multidisciplinary approach to your problem, lifestyle changes, treat the cause is for professionals alternative therapies to aim at for drug free reactions.
