Propranolol 40 Mg Estroven With Alteril

I'm having chronic insomnia from coming off Xanax .5mg 4×a day I've been using zzquil 50mg and 0.1mg colonidine at bedtime and even using 10mg propranolol along with it I also have used Alteril but it seem to cause my heart rate to jump up but any way I use these mess I still can't fall asleep I've slept about 11 hours in the past 5 days all I do is just lay there all night with my eyes closed hoping that sleep will come only to find myself getting back out of bed around 3am and waiting on daylight. I was c/t from the Xanax 4 and a haft months ago and have been in hell ever day I was on the Xanax 12 and haft years didn't even need it but here i wondering what to use its. A battle ever night I hate going to bed and have so much anxiety over it my Dr says there's nothing he can give me because I can't take ambien or any messages that work on the same receptors as the Xanax Ssri like trazodone just stops my nose up and I use a cpap so you see my problem I don't know what 5th do I'm 57 years and would love advice

Hi Ron,

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience coming of xanax so suddenly. Getting a good night's rest is vital to our well-being and peace of mind, so I can only imagine how you might be feeling having gone 5 days with only 1 nights worth of sleep.

What's strange to me though, is that a doctor would simply cut you off cold turkey after being on it for nearly 13 years…. that's just an inhumane/torturous thing to for him to do in my honest opinion. I wonder if you could report that doctor for using unethical judgement calls on your medication...? Just thinking that it might be something to look into depending on the nature of the situation.

Speaking of nature, have you also considered researching any natural or homeopathic sleep aids as possible alternatives?
