On Suboxone False Pos. For Oxycodone

im on felony probation have violated twice due to failing drug test ihave been to rehab 4 times na alone obviously does not work for me tried methadone a few years ago it was a terrible failure for me i decided a couple of months ago to try suboxone it has been a tremendous help so far i have no desire to go back to go back to iv drugs and look forward to being off suboxone in time as well i took a urine test at my last probation appointment it showed a false positive for oxycodone so it was sent to a lab for confirmation. will the lab identify suboxone or just confirm no oxycodone?

It really depends on what type of test they are using, most just check for the presence of narcotics, not a specific one, since they break down into very similar metabolites.

Have you made sure they are aware you are on the Suboxone, under a doctor's superivision and provided them with proof of such?

I was taking two random urine test a week, and it never showed on the test. Nor any false positives for narcotics. Im sure it was a bad test, unless you used oxy's a few days before the test. But make sure you tell the testing lab that your on suboxone.

Wife is 65 with congestive heart disease, kidney disease, and suffers from lower back and leg pains. She has been going to pain clinic for 5 years; taking 60 mg morphine 4 times a day and 15 mg morphine for break through pain. She has always tested clean until this January and again in Feburary. She tested postive for buprenorphine and norbuprenorphine; she never used them; don't know what they are, and only takes what's prescribed. She was tested again today and were afraid it will happen again. What could cause this?
