MY HUSBAND HAS BLADDER CANCER AND WAS PRESCRIBED 20 MG OF METHADONE EVERY MORNING. HE WAS ALSO GIVEN MORPHIN SULFATE 60 MGS TWICE A DAY. HOW SHOULD THESE MEDICINES BE TAKEN?

Hi Deb, Im 57 from Pa. I've been on methadone for 30 yrs. As everyone said methadone does not cancel out any pill. My brother and 2 cousins passed from bladder cancer. I guess the doctor figures to take methadone on a good day and morphine on rougher days. My cousin passed in a month. Bladder cancer like any cancer is bad. Also she was on so much morphine she was falling. Just know Your in my prayers and at least your doctor wants you or your hubby to be comfortable. Sometimes when cancer hits we cant take that. In other words cancer in my family is a death sentence. So just keep taking it as long as YOU or the person wants to. I've lost my entire family from Bladder an other cancers. God be with you an your family. I've been on 120 mg for 30 yrs. Orange diskets. They dont work anymore. So maybe when the methadone doesn't work-the morphine will.

Ur right my pain cl8nc cut my methadone down to 15mg from 40mgs and my wife was switched to norphine and now off everything for 3 weeks sneezes alot

Hitler did instruct his scientists to create the drug Methadone; they gave up the patent and we bought it in the U.S. many years ago; it was originally marketed here as Dolophine and used for opioid addiction.

It is one of the strongest long acting pain medications known and cheapest.

You can utilize Morphine and Methadone. I am on both. Morphine inj., Oxy solution, Methadone for long acting, and other medications.

Due to recent government interventions causing deaths to thousands with intractable pain the cost of my need for Duragesic was so high I had to go to Court to win a medical award for life I already won years ago.

It works, it is a nasty drug as well. All of them are but what is worse dying as I could from IP.

i have taken morphine & methadone together safely many times. And the morphine still works if given at an appropriate dose.

WHen you are taking ANY medication for pain, you are NOT AN ADDICT. People on high-powered medication need to get the correct terminology straight due to the IGNORANCE of the general public. When you are prescribed any medication to aid in a medical issue and you become tolerant -- this makes you OPIOID TOLERANT. NOT addicted. There is a difference. With the FDA all over people and the doctors that are attempting to help them by threatening to take their licenses or taking their license, closing clinics, putting the entire practice on the street while the harass the doctor, etc., you MUST be an advocate for everyone in your position. It is cruel and unusual for the US government to put legitimate pain patients out on the street and call them "addicts." This not only effects the doctors and the patients - it causes the supporting family and support system to "decide" their sick relative/friend to be looked upon as having a "problem" with drugs, as opposed to having a problem with severe pain due to accident, disease, and ailments. This witch hunt must stop. Pain patients were blind-sided when the DEA moved in and ruined the very lives of people that have trouble functioning anyway. They have destroyed the weakest and ones that have the least energy to fight. Now that their families are suspect of whether they are addicts (or try everything, including chastisement to get them off these life-saving medications). Don't give anyone a reason to call you an "addict" -- correct them on the spot. Somehow, we must ban together, write your representatives, whatever. Get your family in line and get them to help - have them accompany you to doctors and make sure they help to make the doctor know that you are ligitimate and you are not to be taken lightly. I've been on methadone for three years now. I've never saw anyone pass from methadone and morphine but definitely methadone and any benzo, better known as downers. (Zanax, kolinapin, so as, etc.). Benzos are downers and mixed they will confuse your heart and brain not knowing whether to relax u or boost u. Absolute No No

Ive been on methadobe for 4 years, started at 40mgs down to 5mgs. At one point I was taking 2mgs of xanax a day for 5 months with it... I'm still alive but i went through a living hell for 2 months when i stopped taking xanax and was taking a little bit of powder of restoril (benzo sleep aid) so i wouldn't have a seziure. U cant s***, your stomach feels like its gonna pop out oxys. Methadone didnt work to stop that withdrawal, so please never mix the 2. I survived but having to work and take care of a family it was a nightmare. Surprised i made it thru. I'm 40 and latino. I knew my limits but withdrawls are never fun. I did on my own because i was embarrassed, but it started cuz i lost my best friend and xanax did help.

Is his Morphine Sulfate liquid or tablets? Methadone is a very good and strong pain medication. Morphine is usually used as a breakthrough medication. That's what I take. Is that a help to you? If you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to let me know.

Methadone compared to comong off of Morphin EX was a piece of cake. By back blew another disc, and had to go back on something. The doctors put me on MS Contin. It's been the worst experience of my life. Methadone over Morphine, anytime.

I have migraines and sometimes have to go to the hospital & they give a morphine shot to knock it out. The only thing is I'm on 190 milligrams of methadone,my question is will I feel the effects of the morphine shot?

My other question was is it dangerous to take 10 milligrams of Valium while I'm on 190 milligrams of methadone? I get bad headaches & anxiety attacks so the Valium is very helpful.

Not at the same time. What does the bottle say? They both can make him very tired. I would take the Methadone in the am and the Morphine in the afternoon. If you have any questions please call the Pharmacist and the Dr.

Hi there,I am currently on 100mg MST Continus 1daily & 2 Coxfalm 15mg for lower back injury underwent spinal fusion L4.5,S1 with rods & screws installed,pain still fluctuates between 5-10 daily,the pain centre Doctor said if I take any methadone syrup even the smallest dose it will cause my heart to stop,is this correct??
