Generally these types of medications work synergistically, which means that it can increase the lowering of blood pressure to more than you'd get if you were using just one of them.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. The Losartan with Hydrochlorothiazide combines an ARB with a diuretic.
Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, stomach pain and dehydration.
