hey guys, i have been taking dilaudid for about 5 months 4,8mg a day then switched to heroin for 1 month 2 bags a day,now my friend gave me 4,8mg suboxones and told me it would help me get off h for good, i waited 24 hours took half a subox and i must say it works for wd's but when i run out witch i estimate will be in 2,3 days will i just suffer again;like where i left off or will the h be out of my system and the wd's light enough to withstand, please help, im not a newbee to drug abuse had bad h habits in the past and know the nature of the beast, just want this stuff out of my life so i can go back to work and live again, i need the truth or as close as i can get, can i beat it like this or am i wasting my time,maybe i can get one or two more subs from my freind

Hi my name is John. I just want to share about my experience and hopefully get some feedback. I was in jail from September to mid November. I kicked cold turky in the intake part of jail. Felt a lot better after a week. My sleep was off. It took about a month for me to sleep normally. I got out of jail and was clean for about a month. I got back on dope and was using for about 2 months. I took subs after about 16 hours of my last dose and went into precipitated withdrawals. I felt bad for about 3 days. Stayed on subs for 2 days after and relapsed again. Went on a 1 1/2 week binge and decided to stop. This time I took 2mg roughly about 26 hours after my last dose. I was using h by the way. It was a real smooth transfer felt hardly no withdraw. I'm on day 4 and an taking about 2 mg of subs a day. 1 mg every 12 hours. I feel normal no withdraws at all. I am thinking of taking another 1 my dose tommorow morning and then split my last 2 mg of subs into 8 pieces and take them as needed meaning holding off until I feel unpleasant. I have been doing opiates for about. 6 years and have detoxed successfully about 6 times. Taking subs for more than a week seems silly to me. Every rehab i been to only keeps you on them a maximum of 8 days. I have felt completely amazing after that time but a few times i did feel a bit sluggish and had some minor withdraws, diaria, hot cold flashes. It really depends on your diet and exercise plans. It is all in your mind as well. Hope for the best, believe in something. Make goals and talk about your feelings. I am a chronic relapser. I have felt terrible withdraws and I will forget about them in a short time and go back to using thinking i can use a few days and stop. It is a terrible trick my mind plays on me. I love the drug. I am only 27 years old. I have issues with relationships with girlfriends and myself. I feel like I'm not good enough for the girl and I beat myself up. Using dope puts me at ease for a little while. It quiets the ongoing battle that takes place in my mind. I know I'm a good person, friendly, attractive, hard worker, good heart, ect. But with brick city being a 10 min drive or 20 min train ride away, the temptation will always be there. I thought I changed in jail. I came out not wanting to do h ever again. But I got into a relationship and didn't feel comfortable with myself. I don't know what tommorow will bring but today i am going to not use. I think that's the only thing that works, is workin on today or this hour or this minute. Good luck to everyone who suffers with the same thing. I will pray for anyone who is struggling. It's amazing how quickly things change. The obsession to use will creep up and slap you in the face. Peace

wow, is is my second time getting cean the fist time i was clean for almost 2 yrs on subs for about 1 1/2 . i was using oxcys. 15 30's a day and snorting two bundles of herion and ambiens, zans, lets jus say EVERYTHING . But its my 3rd day i feel bout 90% aside from not being able to sleep at all, subs saved life once and Im sure they will again. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU on this quest.

Good morning everyone! I am on day 4 of suboxone and so far so good... I had taken 2-3 30mg percs a day for the past 2-3 years and just couldn't take it anymore. I reached out for help and an IOP program tried to force me to go to rehab. I don't have the time or $ for that so I bought subs on the street. Took 2 8mg Monday, 1-1/2 Tuesday, 1 Wednesday, and half today. Quick tapers DO WORK! I wish all of you luck - this is my first time trying to quit the percs and was scared outta my mind but I'm feeling amazing so far!

I know this is late but hell yah give him the benzos. If he's really quitting opiates it's worth it. As long as he doesn't take benzo's too long as to where he'll be addicted to those

In my experience if you just take them up to a 5 days you will be fine... even a week or two as long as your going down mgs everyday.... i have done it before and it works you will be fine!!!

Continued bc my Droid cut me off..bottom line my fiance and I haven been sick and tired of feeling like losers even though we haven't literally hit rock bottom we both emotionally are done..we got 4 suboxzone each and are weaning currently..this is my last attempt to do this privately before I have to tell my family the bad news that after all the yrs of being clean I really wasn't for the last 4 yrs..I did the jail thing, rehab, na, counseling and I'm so embarassed I need to do this on ny own and walk away and never look back..I know I'm done with it ..this time I have a son and I gotta stop being selfish and stop numbing my pain w drugs..I did it before I know I can do it again.. good luck to everyone bc it can be done..mind of matter

I am so thankful for suboxen it is really the best drug for addiction ever.. I hope everybody can be off painkillers someday they ruined my life

I feel u Matt. I've been on PERCS for 15 years. Moved up to heroin for 8 mths. Withdrawals are a mutha#@*+# but just living everyday getting high spending waay too much $. Being shady and grimey to find a way to get ur fix. I really think the mental addiction is just as bad as physical I went to get some bags last night it fell thru and a dudë gave me 2 subs. So I'm ready. Good luck all. Time to withdrawal. To withdrawal my life back. ONE LOVE.

Thank you for the post. I just found out my 19 yoa son is addicted to Oxycodone. he takes 2 30mg pills a day by splitting them up and snorting them. He is completly embarassed and it was difficult to get him to admit. He is asking for help and wants so bad to feel normal. I read your post and he is goign to take the route you described. We know it is not guaranteed but it is something. We are making a Doctors apointment for the suboxone. Regardless of how much the Doctor pprescribes; he plans on taking the smallest dose possible, as many times as he needs it and hopefully beat this in the shortest amount of time. We have discussed the pproblems with switching one drug for another. I also expplained the problems with once he beats it that he may feel it was easy and then relapse. I exlained it will be harder the next time. He has spent a minimum of $15,000 in the last year because he just doesn't want to feel sick. You have an encouraging story which I have shared with him. Getting him to the point to admit has been extremely difficult with his avoiding me for the last 1 1/2 years. You see..... I'm a cop. I have made many drug arrests over the last 20 years. I almost always ask the arrested person his or her story of how they became addicted and how they fixed it if and when they ever did. They all say they just wish they didn't think they were the one who wouldn't get addicted and had never taken that first pill/heroin bag, etc. I have seen so many good peopple with an addiction. Unlike some of my compadres, I see the good in the people and realize some are just caught up in the addiction and need to get out. I caught a guy doing heroin after he just got revived from EMT's. He told me he screwed up and was due to go to rehab the next day. His parents confirmed it. I couldn't arrest him. I told him that if he went to rehab and finished the program then I would ditch the case. I also told him that if he left the program, I would charge him with the heroion and put him in jail. He finished the program and it is now 12 years later. He is still doing great and is a productive member of society. The pills are so avalable I believe it is just a matter of time before someone tries it. My son is no different. If I think of it; I will let you know how it worked out. noone cares about your stupid NA meeting experiences. this is totally irrelevant to the topic of the thread. people are looking for answers to the original post, and ONLY answers to the original post. all of your experiences and bulls*** youve gone through to get clean are irrelevant to the topic of the thread, and noone really cares what youve gone through. if youre looking for friends and support go somewhere else or post a new thread. people clicked on this thread for an answer if you can detox using subs for only the time you are withdrawling and them stop taking subs. obviously you wont be taking more than .5mg/day or you risk getting addicted to subs which is far worse than any heroin, oxy, vic, roxi, etc.. addiction.

I was on a suboxone program for over a year clean then my birthday came around and it started gettin warm and i slipped, my messed up thinkin said oh go ahead and do that one bag of heroin its ok..yeah right within a week ibwas full blown shooting a half a gram a day..but i got wise fast and got my script for 45 2 mg strips of suboxone and kicked I started with 16mg starter dose then another 8mg throughout first day, 2nd day i woke up and took 8mg then 6mg throughout the day, 3rd day i started with 4mg then 4mg throughout day, 4th day 2mg start and 2 mg throughout day..now im back on track with my 2mg strip a day program...oh i waited 18 hours after my last use to take suboxone and i was ok...and i had a few chills here and there but nothing like full w/d's..I hope this was helpful...

10 strips is tooo much to take. Trust me. By the time u finish all 10, u WILL be addicted to the subs. I wouldn't break them down in a specific length, just tear off a small piece (maybe a little less then a 1/4th the whole sub). Wait about 30 min and see how u feel. Just take enough to not hurt. Don't take subs to feel "great". Just remember, there is NOO easy way out. But subs will ease the pain. So just take as little subs as possible for a week at most. Taper down everyday. Before u know it, in about a week, u won't need anything. But of course this will only work if u don't relapse and have that will power. Its realllly hard, but how much do u want ur life back??? Evvvvverytime u relapse, its gonna prolong the time it will take to get energy back. HOPE THIS HELPS

Here it is. You shld start wit 2mg first day depending on your tolenence to h. If tht dnt help after 45 mins take another .25 Take another. Yu have to find how much makes yu stop hurting on tht first day. At each dose less than the last time. But always wait 45mins before takin a lil more if the dose didnt help. take sub only after feeling really s***ty apox. 17 -20hrs. After last dose of dope. Test your symptoms on the cows test (Google) before taking sub's. Congrats on taking sub's short term. Sub's are so addictive im 8 days clean frm dope nd 5 from the sub's. Yes slight discomfort in legs. Totally Barrable tho. Tht passes wit the more sober days you gain under ya belt. You can do I hope you stay strong minding and have will power to say no. Want it bad... agree again... all your doin is substituting one drug for another.. i find it funny when they say there clean now cuz the doctors put me on methadone so now i dont do drugs any more... NEWSFLASH. methadone is and opiode its just and opiate blocker and its much worse getting off of. i did the methadone thing and when i wanted to quit taking them it was the worse w/drawl i ever been through... some people just dont get it opana.
