hey guys, i have been taking dilaudid for about 5 months 4,8mg a day then switched to heroin for 1 month 2 bags a day,now my friend gave me 4,8mg suboxones and told me it would help me get off h for good, i waited 24 hours took half a subox and i must say it works for wd's but when i run out witch i estimate will be in 2,3 days will i just suffer again;like where i left off or will the h be out of my system and the wd's light enough to withstand, please help, im not a newbee to drug abuse had bad h habits in the past and know the nature of the beast, just want this stuff out of my life so i can go back to work and live again, i need the truth or as close as i can get, can i beat it like this or am i wasting my time,maybe i can get one or two more subs from my freind

Dude I had an unbelievable revelation when I came to the part where you said "and you know what I'm talking about if you've gone through it" and hearing about how happy you are f***ing gives me hope. I'm doing 5 - 10 bags a day and I just picked up a stack (50 bags) to start to wean myself off but I'm realizing more dope isn't gana fix the problem. I am very happy for you with the success you've had with not suboxone but being happy without drugs and It inspires me beyond belief. Spread the good word brother. Reading this changed a lot.

I tell you another side effect I have had that kinda sticks around from the use of suboxen just on a short time..and thats electrical jerking going on , and its almost violent..now I have heard that seizures are related to suboxen but I am not positive on that.. I have a question tho.....is it standard practice for a doctor in charge of a suboxen program to allways insist on a 12 step program as well? Reason I ask is... I am more than willing to attend meetings.... but I would just as soon do it from say my laptop on NA.org in evenings from my hotel.. My doctor tried to explain difference in "dependency" as opposed to "addiction" and I have to be honest..with my physical problems (is how this started 4 years ago) I honestly believe I am more dependent on these drugs , wich isnt any better if you abuse that dependency ...I do know that,.. I am not saying I want to do all this on MY terms I just have a situation where I work all over the country and cant be home every time ...Its made a huge issue in my career having to not accept work too far from home now..having to be at pain clinic once a month as well....Its been a huge issue and really negatively changed my lifestyle in part due to just making sure I was home to get my pills.... What was really odd was I triued like hell to get suboxen from my pain doc...and talked to them about my feelings I was abusing... everytime I brought this up to my docs...they UPPED my meds..... now they tell me if I piss dirty one more time they will kick me out of the program.... Kinda leaving you out to dry there know what I mean? These pain docs are crazy!!

Matt! Man bro I feel Yu on reading these posts, feeling inspired, and motivated. "Like if they can do it I sure as hell can too". Its been 8 days since ma last shot of dope.. Woohoo! Lol. I used 2½ soboxone for about 4days. Its a start and I'm feeling very confident! I knw I can keep clean. 8 days into it, its just not worth going thru hell of kickin. Plz don't stop reading nd askin ?s. These blogs are wat really really help me in my first 3days of detox.. OK well, Matt Idk how they do it in bags over there. But I'm sure your h is in form of powder. Down here in Texas we do it in form of black tar heroin... I had a friend from Chicago, who had been iv h user for on 2yrs. and she said 2 pieces of tar frm here was much more potent, also more in quantity than the China white there. You wld think the powder form wld have Less cut. Therefore, more potent. I really don't knw how it works up there.

But anyway... Iv been doin heroin for 6yrs. First 4 n a half yrs I snorted in form of powder. Wit just about 2 n a half To 3 pieces a day. Then one day I decided to try iv'ing. What's one time, I said. Well one time turn into almost 2yrs. Banging about 6to 9 pieces a day. I was a f***in zombie. Ma dude had the same addition same tolerence as mine. All we cared about was finding a vien. And getting high together. We fed off each other, bringing each other down. I cld go on and on. I never hit rock bottom, but about Lil over a week ago I found My son (1½) trying to tie a shoe lace around his arm. I cried a lot. Said I was sorry his mother is a addict. ): you dnt have to hit rock bottom Yu just have to really want to get clean. I always told myself wen Im sick of this. I'll stop. Its all about being strong in the mind. Have will power to say no to the voice saying get high. Ask God for strength, he listens to any nd everyone. Even all the dope heads.

Heres how I used suboxone: First day I waited 18hrs from my last shot. I had been feeling horrible but Yu have to be in moderate WD before takin the subs, if not Yu cld get precipitated WD. ):sucks. Sublinguaning half a 8mg strip under tounge. I felt OK. Relieved after about 5-10mins. next dose (half 8mg)didn't come till I was starting to WD again(12hr). next dose day 2 ¼ of sub, about 14hrs. later By day 3 I realized I didn't need it. It had been 20hrs. N I still felt fine. I was happy, normal. But 2 hrs later (day4) I needed another¼ Day 5 I just smoked a Lil weed nd was happy. By day 6 I started feeling the slightest feeling of restless legs, stretching, aching in the back, yawning, nd being cold nd have chills. It was slightly discomforting but nothing compared to wd'ing for real. Today I'm still feeling the slight body aches nd chills fatuige also.. But Completely Bareable. I know as more days pass the more better I'll feel. I feel good to say I feel normal w/o a substance. I didn't want to depend on suboxone to feel normal. Its highly additive. So using sub short term to kick is fine nd works.
You just gotta have control of the mind. Your mind will make Yu thing Yu need subs to be normal or keep from getting dope sick just like h. Only take sub wen starting to feel wds. Nd less is more so start wit half. And each dose work your way dwn. If its been 45 -hr after last dose nd still no relief take only ¼ Yu shld be good.

Once Yu passed 3 days of detox the test is will power. I say why go back wen I'm already 8days clean. And if a few days of Lil discomfort is all I feel, s*** I'll take that over depending on drugs legal or not. Yes, its harder because your mind f***s with you somtimes. But control my own mind. If Yu are not strong enough to say no to the temptation, cravings, than your only gonna waste time. Its about how hard Yu will fight, control, will power, and the want has to be 100%.

Amber. I stopped fine. Using short term sub as a solution. Happy Yu decided to kick this s*** (: Just think girl. I told myself man its crazy how i will feel normal wit out freaking putting a needle in my arm. I'm free! Nd happy. Its hard but its doable. Anyways dnt give up.

Here it is. You shld start wit 2mg first day depending on your tolenence to h. If tht dnt help after 45 mins take another .25 Take another. Yu have to find how much makes yu stop hurting on tht first day. At each dose less than the last time. But always wait 45mins before takin a lil more if the dose didnt help. take sub only after feeling really s***ty apox. 17 -20hrs. After last dose of dope. Test your symptoms on the cows test (Google) before taking sub's. Congrats on taking sub's short term. Sub's are so addictive im 8 days clean frm dope nd 5 from the sub's. Yes slight discomfort in legs. Totally Barrable tho. Tht passes wit the more sober days you gain under ya belt. You can do I hope you stay strong minding and have will power to say no. Want it bad... Grab a few more if you can the great thing with suboxone if u t not doing multiple 8 a day for a long period its not like methadone u can jump at 4 mil after a short stint and get by without major discomfort

That was so well written and genuine that I kept on reading. The only problem that I found in " some " of the meetings was there were and I guess it's normal in any groups, is that you hear people just talking a pity party. I did attend a few different meetings,some good, some bad. But Matt is so right about sharing.

Im not sure if anyone is talking on here anymore. I need help. I started taking vics 5/325 when I was 15. Before I knew it I was at 16 a day. Crack em in half and gulp em down. It wasnt enough. Jumped to nibbling 80 mg REAL oc's. Then blasting them up. 500 to 600 mg a day. Never got into h, but every other opiate I had done in every way possible. My friends would call me the pharm because of how much I knew about them. I would overdose at least twice a week. I would throw up every single morning before I would dose. When I stopped cold turkey I was using up to eight 4 mg dilleys a day. I wd for 3 weeks. Absolute hell. Residual wd for 3 more weeks. I was finally sober. A close family member then started getting 130 5/325 vics a month. And didnt take them. Free drugs at my finger tips. I would go through them in 3 weeks, then buy roxeys or perks for the next week. Did this on and off for a few years. I am now 22 and cant seem to kick it. Im taking between 6 to 13 vics a day, simply because they are free. My life is changing for the better now, but the only time I feel happy is when im high. (Pills) iv smoked bud since 15 and drank since 16, but never had an issue like I do with opiates. I feel like when im high, my brain functions better, im more personable, im outgoing, im motivated, hell im just f***in happy. Even when ive been sober for extended periods of time it doesnt compare. I hold a very good job, im extremely intelligent, iv been in a very long relationship, and I have many goals in life. My body is in good condition (dispite the stupid amount of acetaminophen my body has taken in). I just cant kick it. It always creeps back. " ill just take a couple here and there" then bam! Im addicted again. Ive been through harsh wd 5 times, but its a never ending cycle. Please.

Subs do not "heal your brain receptors" Subs are an opiate that replace the opiate you where abusing. Subs eliminate the need to seek drugs, steal, employment, dangerous behaviors, etc. Subs also help with withdrawals because it is easier to taper off it

you cant escape withdrawals, you can reduce them. If you had 4 8mg strips or pills I would use the last 1 1/2 to do a slower taper. Day1-4mg, D2-2mg morn 1mg even, D3-2mg, D4 -2mg, D5 -2mg D6-1mg, D7 -1mg, D8- .5mg, D9 -.5mg, D10 - Jump. It will be much better than cold turkey. It will not take cravings away, stay away from drug buddies, work on changing your lifestyle during the whole taper and after

Dude that hit me hard exactly what I am going through now was om opiates hardcore for four years two shooting heroin I never thought id be ok I moved states went to a sub doctor and a week later I feel reborn because I was asleep for four years my eyes always closed just evil didnt care whay I did to anyone for my drug its not worth it man thanks for your story

I have been taking suboxone for 3 years. I was going to the methadone clinic 80mg. No one told me for every 10 mg of methadone you should go 1 day. I went 3, then took 1/2 of suboxone rhe nalaxone stripped all the doans out of me. Most horrible wds ever. After 3 years , 1 of which ive been tapering off ican make an 8mg suboxone last 5 to 8 days. Trying to come off suboxone, its been 5 days. My DR left and went to another state. Nobody could tell me a safe way to come off.so I went to another sub dr. Which told me to throw away the subs I had left. Which I didnt. He took me off my xanax and wrote me 4 other scripts. Seroquel, zofran, trazadone, 11 2.5 xans to taper off. 1st few daya were not bad, however the 4th day was shaking, dizzy & diarrhea. I work in a hospital 12 to 14 hrs a day.and walk about 5miles a day... easy withy job. I told him I just wanted a dr to help me get off them safely. Should I try tapering off like I was? It has helped tremendously,I have my life back and have no desire to go back to using opiates.... how long does this take?? I can't find any dr who can tell me. Ive done a ton of research still nothing. Any suggestions wouldbe appreciated.

Ok..so for the past almost 3 months I started abusing hydrocodone, my tolerance increased very quickly where I could consume 5 10 mg tabs at once and do it again in 4 hours. OMG. Within a week I reduced my dose dramatically to about 3 tabs daily--BUT not without w/d symptoms (diarrhea,sweating, anxiety). To sum things up I took my last hydro dose 26 hours ago---only 15 mg. Got 2mg sub SL and took 1/2 of it-- 1mg. I know I should go to the Dr. for it--but I'm not so don't even go there with me--if I did--well nevermind. Do you think this dose is going to do it for my addicted arse? I want and have to get off opiates and I am determined.

Hun it is possible to take methadone (medicine) and no longer use drugs or alcohol? I have completely turned my life around when i was on methadone had a child and really got my life on track! There is far too much said about people ''still using'' when on a dose of methadone once a day and i think it is rubbish! I was pushed out of an NA meeting i helped set up cos i was on 5mls a day? If i hadnt of been as strong as i was i could of relapsed over that! I was on a low dose of methadone for 18 months i had so much positivity in my life and i was defo not high? I never abused it i only ever took what i was meant to? So how was i still using? Sorry it just bugs me peoples attitudes towards something most probably cos they only know how to abuse the stuff? It saves lives every day im not saying everyone should be on it but i just think if someone is still doing the right things then they are in recovery even if taking that ..i have recently been told to stop my medication for mental health illness too as it is a mind altering substance (anti depressant)? And was told to not tell my doctor? This kind of thing is not ok cos its an outside issue just needed to say that its not ok to judge someone thats on meds

Ive been on h for about 5 mo using about 2 grams a day. I have 2 8 subs. had my last hit I IV'ed at 11am yesterday. woke up at 2 am felt like s***. took 2 of subs felt better. its now 1 pm the next day. feeling a little bad should I dose again ? I need to make them last. I don't know if im gonna have enough and cant get anymore. is it possible I can do it with what I have

I just read your thread and I've been doing some kind of drug everyday since high school and I'm 38 now with a 5 month Heroin binge that I'm about to quit with 5 suboxone tomorrow. Well I didn't IV h for 2 days. I only had to take 2 ml of a sub twice. the wd were not that bad after 5 mo of 2 grams of h a day, but the cravings got me. I picked up today. got a gram. all this time ive worried about the wds. ive been dope sick many times. I can deal with that especially now that I have 1 sub left. Its the cravings that I cant cope with...

Subs helped big time.i was using 20 norco aday with 15 mg oxycodone 120 mnth.for 10 plus years.i ran out and went into wdrls.i took a piece of an 8 mg sub strip half as big as the tax stamp on cigerrette pack..less then 1 mg.it let me sleep.next day took halfthat much.then a minute piece 116th sliver.no more rls and its been 6 days woth nothing but ativan every so often. Im sleeping off and on but wasnt getting much sleep when using.deffinately 3 day detox works .if u use subs for weeks youll become addicted and there harder to kick by far.
