Just Want To Take Suboxone For A Few Days To Detox From Heroin Will It Work (Page 4) (Top voted first)

hey guys, i have been taking dilaudid for about 5 months 4,8mg a day then switched to heroin for 1 month 2 bags a day,now my friend gave me 4,8mg suboxones and told me it would help me get off h for good, i waited 24 hours took half a subox and i must say it works for wd's but when i run out witch i estimate will be in 2,3 days will i just suffer again;like where i left off or will the h be out of my system and the wd's light enough to withstand, please help, im not a newbee to drug abuse had bad h habits in the past and know the nature of the beast, just want this stuff out of my life so i can go back to work and live again, i need the truth or as close as i can get, can i beat it like this or am i wasting my time,maybe i can get one or two more subs from my freind

You should wait at least 24 hours after your last dose of h. Because if you have h in your system and take subs you will fell worse w/d than any other w/d from h. So wait till you feel w/d before you continue sub. Good luck my friend. I've been there and done that a few times. If you want to know more hit me up.

hello matt , i read your thread and it gave me hope, im currently taking approx 800 mg of oxy a day , and i want to quit in the worst way , i have 2 suboxone , 8mg and i am very scared of w/d ,,,please give me some kind of advice , today is friday and i do have the money to buy more , i already did 650 mg of oxy , and as you know that just makes me normal ,

Dude I had an unbelievable revelation when I came to the part where you said "and you know what I'm talking about if you've gone through it" and hearing about how happy you are f***ing gives me hope. I'm doing 5 - 10 bags a day and I just picked up a stack (50 bags) to start to wean myself off but I'm realizing more dope isn't gana fix the problem. I am very happy for you with the success you've had with not suboxone but being happy without drugs and It inspires me beyond belief. Spread the good word brother. Reading this changed a lot.

Matt! Man bro I feel Yu on reading these posts, feeling inspired, and motivated. "Like if they can do it I sure as hell can too". Its been 8 days since ma last shot of dope.. Woohoo! Lol. I used 2½ soboxone for about 4days. Its a start and I'm feeling very confident! I knw I can keep clean. 8 days into it, its just not worth going thru hell of kickin. Plz don't stop reading nd askin ?s. These blogs are wat really really help me in my first 3days of detox.. OK well, Matt Idk how they do it in bags over there. But I'm sure your h is in form of powder. Down here in Texas we do it in form of black tar heroin... I had a friend from Chicago, who had been iv h user for on 2yrs. and she said 2 pieces of tar frm here was much more potent, also more in quantity than the China white there. You wld think the powder form wld have Less cut. Therefore, more potent. I really don't knw how it works up there.

But anyway... Iv been doin heroin for 6yrs. First 4 n a half yrs I snorted in form of powder. Wit just about 2 n a half To 3 pieces a day. Then one day I decided to try iv'ing. What's one time, I said. Well one time turn into almost 2yrs. Banging about 6to 9 pieces a day. I was a f***in zombie. Ma dude had the same addition same tolerence as mine. All we cared about was finding a vien. And getting high together. We fed off each other, bringing each other down. I cld go on and on. I never hit rock bottom, but about Lil over a week ago I found My son (1½) trying to tie a shoe lace around his arm. I cried a lot. Said I was sorry his mother is a addict. ): you dnt have to hit rock bottom Yu just have to really want to get clean. I always told myself wen Im sick of this. I'll stop. Its all about being strong in the mind. Have will power to say no to the voice saying get high. Ask God for strength, he listens to any nd everyone. Even all the dope heads.

Heres how I used suboxone: First day I waited 18hrs from my last shot. I had been feeling horrible but Yu have to be in moderate WD before takin the subs, if not Yu cld get precipitated WD. ):sucks. Sublinguaning half a 8mg strip under tounge. I felt OK. Relieved after about 5-10mins. next dose (half 8mg)didn't come till I was starting to WD again(12hr). next dose day 2 ¼ of sub, about 14hrs. later By day 3 I realized I didn't need it. It had been 20hrs. N I still felt fine. I was happy, normal. But 2 hrs later (day4) I needed another¼ Day 5 I just smoked a Lil weed nd was happy. By day 6 I started feeling the slightest feeling of restless legs, stretching, aching in the back, yawning, nd being cold nd have chills. It was slightly discomforting but nothing compared to wd'ing for real. Today I'm still feeling the slight body aches nd chills fatuige also.. But Completely Bareable. I know as more days pass the more better I'll feel. I feel good to say I feel normal w/o a substance. I didn't want to depend on suboxone to feel normal. Its highly additive. So using sub short term to kick is fine nd works.
You just gotta have control of the mind. Your mind will make Yu thing Yu need subs to be normal or keep from getting dope sick just like h. Only take sub wen starting to feel wds. Nd less is more so start wit half. And each dose work your way dwn. If its been 45 -hr after last dose nd still no relief take only ¼ Yu shld be good.

Once Yu passed 3 days of detox the test is will power. I say why go back wen I'm already 8days clean. And if a few days of Lil discomfort is all I feel, s*** I'll take that over depending on drugs legal or not. Yes, its harder because your mind f***s with you somtimes. But control my own mind. If Yu are not strong enough to say no to the temptation, cravings, than your only gonna waste time. Its about how hard Yu will fight, control, will power, and the want has to be 100%.

Grab a few more if you can the great thing with suboxone if u t not doing multiple 8 a day for a long period its not like methadone u can jump at 4 mil after a short stint and get by without major discomfort

Subs do not "heal your brain receptors" Subs are an opiate that replace the opiate you where abusing. Subs eliminate the need to seek drugs, steal, employment, dangerous behaviors, etc. Subs also help with withdrawals because it is easier to taper off it

Dude that hit me hard exactly what I am going through now was om opiates hardcore for four years two shooting heroin I never thought id be ok I moved states went to a sub doctor and a week later I feel reborn because I was asleep for four years my eyes always closed just evil didnt care whay I did to anyone for my drug its not worth it man thanks for your story

Subs helped big time.i was using 20 norco aday with 15 mg oxycodone 120 mnth.for 10 plus years.i ran out and went into wdrls.i took a piece of an 8 mg sub strip half as big as the tax stamp on cigerrette pack..less then 1 mg.it let me sleep.next day took halfthat much.then a minute piece 116th sliver.no more rls and its been 6 days woth nothing but ativan every so often. Im sleeping off and on but wasnt getting much sleep when using.deffinately 3 day detox works .if u use subs for weeks youll become addicted and there harder to kick by far.

Your not healing your brain. You get withdrawals because opiates that have stimulated your brain are gone, so you take Subs to take the place. Your brain doesn't differentiate between Opiates and Subs. All it knows is your still providing an opiate. Subs may assist you in changing your lifestyle but not repairing your brain..lol. Stop your Subs and see how repaired it is.

this nonsense that you take Subs to repair your brain sensors is nonsense. opiates do have a reaction on your brain and stimulate your receptors and you have that feel good feeling. when you stop your brain reacts to the loss of the drug. Subs are an opiate and replace the one you used, it is a modified opiate and does not give one the same feeling full opiates do but they do resolve the withdrawals. Subs have a long half life and this makes it easier to taper off. Subs are addictive and cause withdrawals they do not cure/repair any brain cells..lol. Subs do nothing for the mental reasons you take opiates and you need to address that. If you are 110% committed to quitting and changing almost every aspect of your current life than Subs are a great detox tool. Try and start on the lowest amount possible, follow a taper plan and get off Subs as soon as possible. Remember almost 90% of the work begins after detox. Change friends, diet, stay busy, seek help and stay committed because it will get better and you will never have to go through this process again

all u do to get off subs is whatever your dr started you out on they will ween you off them...like if you take 2 8mgs a day u will take 1and a half for about 2 months and then 1 for about a month and then a half of millagram for about 2-3 weeks then you will b good to go... but it also depends on if you have a high addictive personalitly like i do...

thank you pat... yeah all i was saying is that docotors really dont know what we the addict is really going through they just tell us to take these meds and they say we will be all better but really its us the people that have experienced it that know best... but yes doctors do know some things and your right you should confront your doctor first that way if somthing happens to someone the doctor is reliable.. tottaly agree there.... and as far as the na/aa programs for me they were totall B.S. but i do know some people that love it and it works for... but for me it wasnt... to be honest they made me wanna go back out and use again, becuase of the war stories... hell i was in rehab and thats all that was talked about what they use to do... to be honest i learned more about drugs than i ever did.. meaning i learned how to do drugs diffrently... i think everybody needs to find what works for them in order to get clean... if aa/na works thats great do that... if hobbies/interst work for you thats great do it btw thats whats been working for me... you just gotta keep your mind occupied in order to stay clean... but thanx for the replay its always good to hear other peaples thoughts...

Hay don't u worry we know that the people we hang out with r just wanting for themselves. And yes we probley have problems and that's why we get high. But when u have been on opiate meds and been on cheese ( H ) for longer then u have been sobar it's tuff, u see it's all we know. For us being clean is not right. Oh ya and Mr. perfect, have u ever been addicted to narcotics?

well if your only doing roxys which are perc 30s 2 a day isnt very hi to me anyways im pretty sure taking the suboxone the way your friends told you will get you through the worst of it but when your done u will have to fight the mental part of withdrawal which i think is the hardest keep your head up and get determined you can d it
