I have had mine for over a year now.My period has been irregular .I hv also added a little weight.Smtyms my period will be normal yl smtyms it will just be brownish blood stains.D only problem I hv with it is d weight gain.Apart from dat,I think I like it.
These posts are great. It is hard to find somewhere with recent info/feebdack on Jadelle. I am 30 with one child and got this inserted in Nov 2013. I thought it would be perfect as no worry about missing the pill etc. I have had quite a few of the symptoms, but not sure if worthy of taking out. Definate bloating in the tummy and also swelling feeling like i had been on a plane for 20 hours! i have had one period since lasting two days and some spotting recently but no real period in over 5 months. I have put on a few kilos, and feel a bit fat! I have had anxiety and feel the depression also but not sure if this is due to Jadelle. Have recently got tender breasts/nipples hence the reason to search for feedback on this as I am scared those symptoms mean I am pregant. Has anyone else experience that?
I am keen to get this removed due to the side effects, but also think it is so convenient not having to take the pill!
Mine was inserted really well, had no issues but a bloody sore arm over night but that was to be expected. I find it has its good and bad points, and sometimes I am bloated and sometimes Im not.....
Not actually sure what to do :) Just wanted to add some more feedback for others as I found this really helpful....
After 3 1/2 years finally got mine out cant believe how amazing i feel now lost the weight i put on no more depression or mood swings and period back to normal such a relief
i have had my jadell in for nearly for years and i have had no problems with it i have my period every month on time so it has been good for me just to put it out there for those ho are unsure as i have read a lot of bad things and i have had no problems at all.
Hii i too am suffering from increasing weight gain acne which i never had in my adulthood and a irregular period & heavy bleeding. I will only get 1 week or if im lucky maybe 2 weeks without a period. Ive been on the jadelle now for a little over a year & Im goin to get it removed. In the short time ive been on it I have gained 15pounds & struggling too lose it. Yes i have gained weight after each pregnancy (4) but managed too lose the weight each time. I hate it & I wouldnt recommend to anyone.
My daughter had the Jadelle implanted 7 1/2 months ago, she's sixteen so I thought it would be it a great idea seeing as she had her beautiful son 9 months ago at fifteen. She has suffered terrible depression and anxiety since then, weight gain and itchy skin. We ended up putting her on anti depressants not realising that this all seems to have a common thread. She is now on two Zoloft tablets a day (the doctor has slowly been upping the dose) and it's still not working. We are having the Jadelle taken out as soon as possible. Reading these posts has been highly helpful in making this decision, hopefully I can have my happy daughter back, thank you all
Hi I did use jadelle frm 2007-2013 in 2013 I went 2 Doc and remove and insert again all this years I never have any side effect bt my worry I what 2 remove what I chances of fall pregnant
Hi im a 34 year old lady. I got jadelle inserted 3 months ago. Since then I have not had my period. I am getting constant headaches, dizziness all the time. I am thinking of getting it removed.
I had the jadelle put in nov 2013 it is now almost march 2014, i have had two seperate days in total of spotting, no periods since the breakthrough one after having it done, no side effects apart from feeling really warm all the time and when i workout i sweat alot. Im 34 with 3x kids and finding the jadelle a good contraceptive.
I don't like takin pills (would miss out for sure) nor injections. I figured implant would be my first choice and I'm glad I did. I've had my implants inserted since 2011. Sometimes I have my period, sometimes I don't. They could go irregularly for months, what do I care, all I want is not to get pregnant... I don't get headachs, nosea, fever or pain in my arm, pain in the lower part of my stomach sometimes during my period and maybe I got a little too moody (getting angry more frequently)... people react differently, if this type doesn't work for you, no need to go too far, just remove it and try another method. Wish you muck luck ladies!!!
Hi :-)
I had bad skin problems acne to really dry skin was not nice
Weight gain , probably didn't help I made no time for myself after bubs but the wight gain was too over the top seeing iwas more active after bubs than anytime before,
And the worse was the light bleeding mine lasted for a hole year to a year and a half while waiting to get it removed hope this helps
Ace*** - of course we were told of the STANDARD SIDE EFFECTS - Pretty much covers most of the Birth control Range. What we are talking about on this site is the ones they don't tell you or don't know about. Having this site lets women express what they are going through with Jadelle. Ive been on many BC and found Jadelle the one with most side effects. Good on you and your cousin for having success with Jadelle. You're found the right contraceptive that suits your body type
WELL ACE, you must be one of the few lucky ones because the rest of us here have had really terrible experiences with Jadelle, I suffered nearly constant bleeding, terrible migrianes, acne weight gain loss of libido, feeling sick all the time and major mood changes. Jadelle is dangerous and damaging a lot of women. I've had mine out for 8 months approx, my weight has just dropped off, moods are normal, acne gone, libido returned. I wasn't old of all these side effects when I got mine it was pushed as the best invention since the pill!! Who would get it knowing all that is going to happen to your body. Ladies take it out. PS ACE didn't like they way you were treating June and using all those CAPS!!
I was informed only of the irregular periods. I wasn't told that periods can cease altogether. The words from the physician that I got was "you will still bleed the same amount each month it might just not in consecutive days". I wasn't given a pamphlet and I have gained 15kgs since I have been on it I am trying to lose weight as I have to for medical reasons and this isn't helping the situation. Ace you were obviously one of the lucky ones because I did fall pregnant on this which ultimately ended in a miscarriage.
Were any of you told ANYTHING before the implant? Irregular bleeding is the most common symptom, and it is common for periods to cease all together, sometimes starting immediately after insertion or at any point afterwards, whether its been 1 month, 6 months, or a year. THIS DOESNT MEAN YOU ARE PREGNANT - JADELLE IS 100% EFFECTIVE (or at least close to).
Weight gain is also common, though not a hell of a lot. Dizziness, acne, headaches and nausea can also occur; this MAY just be temporary (say, first six months) and can be treated with other pills.
If you have a more severe side effects then simply have it removed. Do not believe that because you are hearing so many bad stories online that it is a bad treatment - merely that when things go wrong people seek advice so there are less reports of 'successful cases'.
Please be rational about this. Seriously. Read the pamphlet - it's even available online.
P.S. my cousin and myself are both example success cases of the Jadelle implant, we love it.
From the sounds of what you ladies are saying im glad to be getting mine out in January 2014. I have had them in since June 2010 and had heavy as periods, Only getting my periods every 2-3months but getting extreme period cramps, weight gain, nausea, headaches, you name it ive had it. Worst mistake ive ever made
Get the JADELLE removed! No beating round the bush!! Just do it! Mood swings with Jadelle were the worse times ive ever had. I have been off it since October 2013. No mood swings, (well I get grumpy but I can snap out of it and not go on for days hating the world). No bloated tummy. Skin is much clearer. Ladies I have noticed the difference and you all need to get off it. Its bad for your body.
I have had my jadelle for around 3/4 weeks now and it has been the worst weeks of my year to date, I have turned crazy hormonal and i've been happy for ages so its pretty coincidental for this to have occured after the jadelle was inserted. My boyfriend even broke up with me because of my mood swings because i have just been overemotional, angry and extremely short-fused. No other side effects apart from that but Im considering taking it out because its just horrid. Im feeling so down.
I have had my Jadell for just about a year and the first 6 months were great. Light periods for 3 days but the last 6 have been horrible. Bleeding heavily for 2weeks every period, gained 20kgs!!! So not happy at all, have booked in to get it removed this week :)
