In her defense, there are meds I've taken years ago that I can't recall anything other than maybe the first letter. So what? Lol how does she seem look like a drug seeker? The entire reason for this thread is to ask questions about a particular med....maybe to get an opinion from someone that's taken a particular med before. It's called getting feedback and it's ok. I'm here because my neurologist changed one of my meds. He took me off Soma and started me on Bacolfen. Tonight will be my first night. I googled information on the med but came here to get some feedback from anyone that's take Bacolfen. That's what this thread is for. I'm certainly not a drug seeker, eventhough I'm on Methadone, Morphine and now Bacolfen. I have serious medical issues and take these meds 3 x/day. I suppose you think I'm a 'drug seeker' too, huh? Don't be so judgmental of people, especially people you don't know. You don't know that woman's story, now do you? I understand there are drug seekers. Apparently, you know about that very well as you mentioned you've been clean several years. So just because you were a so called drug seeker, doesn't mean we all are. The pain I live with lead me to a scary dark place several years ago. The combination of meds I'm on now has changed my life.....for the better, I might add. I can function again. I didn't drive fit 13 years. I've been driving again for three years. I'm living again because I'm taking the meds that work for me. Yes they are narcotics, strong narcotics, but I take them AS DIRECTED, therefore there is no problem. The lady you judged and berated in front of everyone may be living with horrible pain. You don't know!!! Just because you are a recovering ADDICT , didn't mean the majority of people taking a narcotic are addicts too. Not true, not by a long shot. So worry about your addiction, and leave others alone. If you're clean now, why even bother coming to this thread? Lol. I seeb right through you :-)

I'm guessing the 800 was Skelaxin. It's the only relaxed I know that comes in that kind if dosage. And a tic-tac is basically stronger!

U need to quit downing people. Your a former drug user your self stop judging people.even if they are it's none of your bends. Who are you to tell anyone how to be. A former drug addict should t talk bad about other. Drug users cuz you have been their you have known that demon. You judge too much. You will always be a recovered drug addict no one will look at you the sane ever again just like all other drug users. Just cuz it was easy for you to get off so you say and I seriously doubt that it nay be harder for them. Every person who uses drugs are different. I jut cannot believe how rude and meAn you were to that person u commented on. God doesn't like ugly.

Sk8r00 neurontin works great! I have horrible nerve pain in my feet and hands. It's nit 100% but it help. a lot. I also have a compound cream that I use when I get flare ups. Pain is mostly gone in 5-10 mins! Really! It's got ketamine and lidocaine in it. If your doc won't prescribe it, you can get a tube like aspercream that has lidocaine in it OTC. Try that! Good luck, man. Hope this helps!

I had thoracic outlet syndrome and had my 1st rib removed to fix it. Recovery was hell, felt like my arm was in a light socket and it would shoot electrical twinges through my arm as the nerves reconnected. They had to break it in half AMD take it out through my armpit. Then they had to take out am inch and a half of my neck muscle. Took about 6 weeks to do heavy healing and was out of work for 8. I wish you well AMD hope this doesn't scare you. After 8 weeks I was mostly cured, few twinges here and there, but nothing like before. I couldn't hold a coffee cup. My hand would collapse like with a spinal fusion...cervical. Had that 12 years later. No problems after healing with either. Complete success! Good luck to you on that! Soma is wonderful. Been on it since 1998. I take 1 or 2 aday as prescribed. Only 1 at a time. Don't like what it does to me. Not looking for a high, just pain relief. Others seem to make my muscles tighten up, rigid. Give me a creepy feeling inside. Valium does the same thing, as do most antihistamines. Can only take benadryl or coracidin. I know what works for me. Also on high dose of methadone for pain since 1998. I was on 100 mg and didn't like the hassles with new drs when we had to move with husbands job, so I started tapering off. Got down to 70 mg, then had to go to a pain clinic because my Dr retired! After 3 years they are requiring me to go down to 30mg by June. Fe) I have been decreasing by hf a pill, 5 mg. It is hell. Not withdrawal, just pain. This month its 10mg and every month after. I'm 63! I'm not a drug addict. They say its the state. But its voluntary for them to adopt the policy. Meanwhile I'm dying!

sk8r,

Wow, you're truly angry. Why? That pain has manifested in your mouth. Maybe you've abused the drugs prescribed? I think this site is for information on the drug and it's effect verses another. Not attacking everyone and labeling them. Please be kind as I think most of us are truly in pain and just need more information as to what might work. Hope someone sheds a little love your way!

Sk8tr, I don't think you have 7 years clean and sober, or any recovery for that matter. Take your own inventory. Leave these people alone. You are so rude and are full of accusations. You may be off your drug of choice but no recovering addict treats people this way.

People don't understand that quality of life is very important. If you can't enjoy life why live. So,what if your addicted if the option is that the pain is so severe that you don't want to live or enjoy anything. The word addiction is so loaded with different meanings.that people cant see through it to make any valid or informed, realistic, and above all compassionate understanding decisions. PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP AND LOOK AT REALITY

Wow remember where you came from. U have 7 years but your what I'd called a dry drunk. You have no recovery and no sympathy for the addict who still suffers. If he's an addict then wish him recovery pray whatever. But degradation gets u know where. I have 5 and a half years clean and sober but I do have a chronic illness and I know what works for me. I came to thus thread to read about this new med my doc is promoting for my spina bifida amongst other spinal iissues, etc... I'm sorry that anyone had to read that horrid post.

Are you serious. You're really going to bash a stranger on their "desperately and poorly worded post" and then urge them to construct a "more intelligent" one when you yourself misspelled multiple words and included several disjointed phrases?

And then to pass judgement on what you identify as addict like behavior when you say you've "been there"... That is simply childish and ignorant. How about trying to show some compassion and support? That might actually help and comfort those people in similar situations who are just reading to help find strength to overcome their own battles.

And while we're talking about "neon signs" for pill seeking behavior, might want to consider leaving out your "medical history" at the bottom of your posts. If anything, THAT smacks of desperation. A) no one is going to care about your situation if you don't care about the situation of others. And B) it seems like all those who are addicts put these long trumped up medical histories in their posts more for themselves. You're giving yourself reasons to take the meds that you do.

Don't be so quick to pass judgement

No offense- but just because you felt as though his/her wording made him/her sound like a drug seeking addict, maybe that sheds more light on your own past problems. To me it sounded like the average folks asking questions that doesn't know the difference- just someone which knowledge. When I was prescribed bacolfen I didn't know much about it. I didn't know any generic names, or if baclofen was the generic. If I had been on what I thought was the same medicine prior and at 800mg then the pharmacy gave me 10mg of what was supposed to be the same meds, I would also question it. Sure lack of information on our parts will garner these results- but that is in no way a reason to charge someone so conclusively with being a drug seeking addict. You tell him/her to be more intelligent- I ask you to be more intelligent and don't place your past indescritions on other people. Your judgement without knowing that person is totally unfair and unfounded. Thank you.

Hi sk8r00. I truely feel for you. I understand what you are going through. Although my life wasn't taken suddenly, but slowly but also painfully as well. Neuontin has worked wonders for my siatica and pintched Nurves. I have many important damaged Nurves that hurts like a b. Every dr I've seen says that it's something I'm going to have to get used to so for the past 10 years I've been on different narcotics and nurve pills (like neuontin, gabipentin etc). They may be the same I don't know. But right now I'm on enough morphine and Norco to put a small horse to sleep yet still won't relieve the pain. I've had 6 spine surgeries and 15 fused disks. 6 titanium poles and umpteen screws. Anyways I didn't mean to make this about me I just wanted to let you know neuontin has work for me. (Not completely) but enough to walk without a cane. I truely wish you the best and don't give up. Hopefully you'll be up again soon. I just reciently moved to New Zealand and luckily the Drs (although I had to see specialists) sympathised with my pain and agreed to try other things so maybe one day I'll be off all the narcotics.
Just starting to watch rugby since I'm from the states and am used to am football (GO CHARGERS). But it seems like a great (yet dangerous) game.
Keep up your research it seems like you are doing what's best for you. That's all we can ever do!
Take care

Your pity party is heart breaking. However, if you'd stop with your arrogance, someone might actually feel bad for the pain you're in.

You might want to just hush about all these things you know nothing about.
