I Posted This In The Wrong Place Before I Apologize! I Think This Is Right...
Updatedi was prescribed 0.5mg the prescription bottle says "take twice daily as needed" and i have been taking it as such, sometimes i skip days i was prescribed i wanna say oct. 1st 2011 so it has been 2 weeks since i've been on it and i have not yet taken a FULL pill, i'm afraid of becoming dependent or addicted because i just got over oxycodone withdrawls and those were hell and i heard benzo withdrawls are no walk in the park either, but anyway i cut my pill in half everyday i don't take them on any schedule really, i usually cut it, take a half when i wake up so i can be out and about during the day because i have severe anxiety (i have borderline personality, schizotypal and panic disorder) and it really DOES help with the panic attacks i get! but then i take the other half later at night, i mean isn't this what people do when they "taper" anyway? i'm basicly doing the reverse by starting on the lowest possible dose, i'm terrifed of being addicted and i'm terrified of the withdrawls i've heard of and it makes my anxiety worse to think about and i just want to know if this method of mine is goiing to cause me to have any addictions or withdrawls if i continue, because it's a blessing ever since i've started and i dont want it to spiral into hell, i got addited to oxy in the first place to "self medicate" my anxiety, i've tried therapists i've tried SSRI's i've been admitted to a psych ward twice and klonopin seems to be the *only* thing thats worked for me i'm happy taking it it makes everything seem so much better, and i have no problem with having to take it for the rest of my life, i see it as the same concept as someone having to take insulin for diabetes for the rest of their life! i just don't want to end up being one of those people who eat 6 a day and spiral into a crazy addiction.
so tl;dr: if i continue to take .25 mg twice a day everyday what will happen? will i be dependent and go through withdrawls if i accidently skip a day or what?

The way you are doing it is very smart, because it also leaves you tolerance room to adjust. Tolerance eventually occurs for most people, because their body gets used to a certain medication and it stops working as well for them, so they require a higher dosage. By using the lowest one possible, you leave yourself plenty of room for these adjustments to be made in the future.
Withdrawals usually do not occur that fast, because after you have been taking a medication for awhile, there is a certain amount that builds up in your system and it takes awhile for it to completely process out. Withdrawal effects will only happen once that starts to occur, so skipping one day really shouldn't cause much of a problem.
The likelihood of such a thing occurring would be greater if you were taking very large amounts of it.

Is there anything else I can help with?
thank you very much for your reply! it made me feel very reassured~ i've also talked to other people who have been taking this medication for panic disorder in the same way i do for years and have never had a problem, i just get a lot of worry when starting a new drug (especially one with such horrific stories related to it)
