I Love Saphris
UpdatedI started Saphris a few months ago and it has been great. It is not a pill to swallow, it is like a tiny little white pancake you put under your tounge. You can't eat/drink for 10 minutes. They came out with a new black cherry taste so it does not bother me a bit. Anyways, it is helping me think clearer. I have also been a lot less hungry and i think i am losing a few pounds! My insurance didn't take it either but then i got a prior authorization and it was approved for the maximum amount and i am to the max dose and my insurance pays for it except i have to pay about 4$ a month for it...so it also helps with sleep, bipolar and schizoaffective disorder. I would highly recommend it,,,

Awesome! I'm very glad that it's working so well for you!
Have you experienced any of the other side effects that the FDA lists, such as increased urination, joint pain or easy bruising?
Has anyone else had good results with this medication?
The positive side effects of SAPHRIS for me were: increased positive thinking sometimes, more mentally alert, decreased appetite and losing weight, just a feeling that my head is kind of not full of clogs, more motivational sometimes....lots of stuff...i can't write all of them down! lol.
The negative side effects of SAPHRIS for me were: (i can't list all the neg/pos) certain parts of the body do tremor a lot sometimes. That is pretty much all the bad side effects that i have.
One thing. My normal doctor put me on PRIMIDONE 250mg x3 a day=750mg/day. Now my dose is 500mg x3 a day. (Now=1,500mg/day.) That takes quite a bit of the tremors away.. PRIMIDONE is a "anti-convulsant" which means it is used for seizures and stuff like that. But, it is probably the best medication i have ever been on for tremors. Also, a huge thing it helps is my moods, sleep & anxiety.
If anyone else wants to write me back...feel free. I am also on DEPAKOTE, LITHIUM, LAMICTAL, SAPHRIS, SEROUQUEL, RISPERDAL, CLONIDINE, ORPHENADRINE, OMEPRAZOLE & PRIMIDONE. Thanks! My email {edited for privacy}.
Saphris has been good so far for me. I am in tge third week of taking it and have had mostly good effects so for. I have felt bright and happy, in fact better than i have for 28 years since first diagnosed with bipolar 1. This is a great improvement from my previous seroquel medication which made me feel dull and unresponsive.
In fact i feel like my life has been given back to me. It is the only psych med that doesn't feel like it has added an extra burden on me.
I am glad that I am not the only one to benefit from Saphris!
This is the first time I have posted let alon endorsed anything online.
It sure does help I feel more confident when I'm around people and secure the way my mental illness from having voices or hallucinations Just great works
