How long do you have to quit taking clonazepam to pass a drug test?

Yes, I was on 6 mg of klonopin NOT equivalent to 5 mg of xanax. Plus the fact of bring on them for seven yrs, I'm not detoxing from xanax, but klonopin.... This is in reply to the other post that didn't say my name but looked like it referred to me...ty for the info on the urgent car stuff and ya I always keep my meds on me anyway as I have severe SAD and HAD AND NEVER know whn an attack may hit

I took 2milligrams 4 times a day that is a huge amount I did this for 4 years and my dr. Discontinued my meds with no explination I truly thought I wanted to diemy heart would beat so fast and hard I would hit myself in the chest and felt like i couldn't breath tears would run down my face I'm so glad its over I couldn't do it again.

kat....last year when my doc stopped my klonopin and put me on xanax i went into withdrawals within 24 hours.....migraine, throwing everything up for about 48 hours and then the straight anxiety and no sleep started and seizures after two weeks, ended up in the hospital.

Everyone is different, has different problems, reasons for said problems and will react differently to any drug or withdrawl. I've been on alot of different pharmaceuticals and before that I was into fun drugs. Most recently (past 2-3 years) I've been taking clonazepam. 12mgs/day at the highest point, now 6mgs/day. Or that's the scrip anyway. My effective dose is 4mgs for a 6 hour period. However, that's just for when I'm around people. I take it however I feel like, sometimes I forget for a day or whatever. I forgot for 3 days this week and decided to see how long I could go, It's been 7 and shockingly no withdrawl unless I think about the fact that I haven't been taking it. Anyway, my point is ALCOHOL. What you say? Yes, have a couple/few/alot of drinks, whatever you personally need and you can mitigate most withdrawl symptoms. It's gonna be worse when you wake up, so be prepared to down some clonazepam asap (kills the hangover too) This will help you if you're having trouble easing off it. I've gone through ugly withdrawls from every drug, but since I like to play and I kinda crazy (hence the drugs lol), I've likely dabbled with my dosage including 0 dose, so when I stop anything, I do it almost without realizing these days. It's very mental (psychosomatic), so alot of withdrawl is just you freaking yourself out. If you're very worried about stopping cold turkey, well guess what, you just exacerbated your withdrawl pain cuz guess what's gonna be running through your mind the whole time. Booze gives you liquid courage in and out of the club/bar. It's a great stop gap, especially when you add something you're interested in to distract you. For me it's easy, booze+girls, no worries. Find what works for you. This drug is not cool, and that's not something I say often ;)

I realize I may have been too cavalier here, as I read through web pages about clonazepam and start to feel withdrawl symptoms LOL. so: The key is to not be afraid of taking the reins and changing your dosage (including alcohol intake) to suit YOU. You are unique and so therefore is your treatment. Only you know best how you feel and it will take some trial and error, but you're fighting your way out of a few hells here, and ya, it's gonna be a fight, a war possibly. Don't worry if you lose some battles and have to go back to your regular dose, and start again. It's good practice, even if it is brutal. I've found doctors just get in the way, so I don't tell mine, I just took myself off of a drug and let them know when I was ready for another. I let them pick, until clonazepam, which was my choice. Bad choice, oh well, fight on.
As for drug tests, depends on lots of factors. If it's even one that detects benzos, it's better to ask your doctor than fail. One won't likely be there a week later, but steady regimen... especially if it's for work, you may want to consider telling them because you can get sued for liability and/or denied insurance for fraud, but you can't legally be discriminated against for a medical condition. Again, reins are yours.

i was in hosptial on sat thanks to my scik dr who told me o your on a low does yes stop it yea right .omg i thought it was the end and the dr there said you have to go slow so i have to start all over again .for a week i would love to sue him foe this .ill so glad when this over .this is the second time of this s*** withdrawls .and i have only been on it sence oct the 15
i am haveing a realy hard time getting of this stuff this is only thing i take .05mg 1 in the moring and 1 at night thats it thats all

Blood was taken from me and sent to lab in wellington (,)ESR EIS or something like that). After 6 months police have results from analyst but I cant sight them til disclosure. If I had taken a 2mg rivitril 2-3 days prior as I had, how would it show up in the results? Can they tell when dose was taken? 4 hrs earlier or 2-3 days prior. Please reply ASAP. Thank-you

I have been on klonopin for seven years, or was, until two days ago. i took 6mg a day (spaced out through the day). on friday my dr switched me from klonopin to xanax (5mg a day spaced out) everyone is telling me that i should be fine, but for the last two days i've had a killer migraine, vomiting, chest pains, terrible shaking and 'withdrawing from society-turned my phone off, won't leave the house) i know i am going through withdrawals and i don't know what to do at this point...how long will it last? am i safe? should my dr have done something else? i can't function like this

U should not be withdrawing from 5 mg Xanax, it is a strong benzo with more euphoric effects than clonazopan in. Y opinion but maybe you klonopin mg was higher than compared to 5 mg Xanax, you should take a higher dose of Xanax to compensate

I have been on Klonopin for 13 yrs and I am 35 years old! I just found out I was pregnantfor the very first time EVER!!! My doctor had me stop this and Cymbalta cold turkey! I feel soooooooo weird!!! Is this a result of withdrawal from this drug?? I'm having a really hard time not taking it! I haven't had it in five days but I feel I'm getting worse!!!! HELP???????!!!!!!!???????? I have jitters, pin pokes in my legs and arms and major anxiety plus had a major panic attack in Kroger the other day!

THIS DRUG IS THE DEVIL. THIS PERSON SAID IT CORRECT!!! I HAD A TIA (SMALL STROKE 4 DAYS AFTER COMING OFF THIS EVIL DRUG... NEVER EVER TAKE. NO ANTI ANXIETY DRUG FOR THAT MATTER. LEARN TOOLS FOR ANXIETY. SLOW BREATHING, MEDITATION, YOGA, ANYTHING BUT THESE MEDS. THEY ARE THE DEVIL AND YOU CAN DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg, thats terrible! Sounds so similar to mine. I've been put back on my meds and seem to be doing fine, I haven't had any more seizures in the last two weeks but that makes me scared! It's bad enough knowing I'll have SAD and GAD for the rest of my life, I can't imagine that too!

After reading these experiences, I am apprehensive as I begin to wean myself off of clonazepam. I have no idea how many years I have been on this drug, and the doctor who prescribed it for anxiety/restless leg syndrome has retired. I currently take 2 mgs at bedtime. Beginning last night, I cut one tablet in half, and so I took 1.5 mgs last night. I have read that the half life of the pill could last up to 50 hours. Wow! was my reaction. The plan is to staywith this dose for 5 days..then go to 1 mg for five more, and .5 for five days after that. After reading about experiences here. I am having second thoughts...not about decreasing the dose 25% at a time, but howmany days to do it.

Anyone have any suggestions to help here?

To the comments below. I would up the# of days between decreasing. At last 10 days. Once you start feeling more comfortable with that dose. I was also taken off of xanax on a days notice and 4-5 days later was in the hospital because of being sleep deprived and having hallucinations, so tread carefully and get the advice of a doctor.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had originally thought 2 weeks at each level, just want off so much. I have gone 3 nights on the 1.5...slept first night, 5 hourse the next, and 3 hours last night.

I went to a party where someone fed me about 14 of them and I lost the next three days of my life then ended up passing out in my bathroom and smashing my head off the counter. Ended up in the hospital with a concussion where they did urine and blood samples and found nothing. So I guess it only lasted in my system a couple days, but i guess different body types break them down differently.
