How Long Before Testopel Pellets Start Working? (Page 6)
UpdatedJust had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.
48 years old. I used j
Gel for a year number went from 20 to 60.Was given 14 pellets 4 days ago and fell no better. however I weigh 360. how long before I see results.???
Everybody is different but in general about 7-10 days and your levels will be maxxed out. Your doctor should have mentioned that to you though. Read back on earlier posts, there is alot of interesting info in this thread.
will be starting testopel this friday. using the gels only got my t up to 300 (btw, for me, androgel worked better than testim). i am a cyclist. is there an insertion spot i can suggest to the md that would be better?
I had the pellets put in two weeks ago and so far nothing. There were 10 pellets implanted. Waiting to see if it kicks in. My doc told me that my levels should jump up to 1000-1200. They started at 225. He said i should have felt something around 10 days.
What specifically are you referring to when you say ‘kicking in?’ An overall feeling or individual things? Personally I did not just wake up one day and say, wow I feel like a different person. I think some of that was that I was hoping so much that I would feel like some switch has been hit that when I didn’t feel completely different I thought it did not take. Actually, in my case 10 pellets only took my levels up @200+, mine did not take and I was totally bummed out. My suggestion would be to get your levels checked again because your levels should be as maxed out as they are going to get with these pellets and this way you will know for sure what is going on. I have since went to a weekly injection and all is well. Not as big a pain in the butt (no pun intended) as I originally thought it would be. I do it myself and is waaaay cheaper than the ineffective overpriced pellets.
Yes when i said "kick in" i was expecting to wake up and feel like a new person after what the doc told me as well as another friend. The office told me to call them next week if i am still not feeling any change and i will probably go for blood work to get a status.
They don't just"kick in", it is a gradual thing. After about ten days, you should start to feel it. Will take some time though, for your body to adjust, and change to the higher levels. For me, it was not until my second testopil implant, did I fully adjust. And still gradually losing weight, and on my third implant. Also the Dr. should have never told you , you would get to 1000-1200. First that's too high, and second, it would take more 10 to get you to that high of a level. I usually stay in the mid 600 range, and feel great at that level. I cn tell when I start to drop. I burn thru mine in 3 months, my levels start drop after 2 months, so I supplement with a compounding pharmacy prep of cream. The Doc gave me a script . Much cheaper than Androgel
How are you Guys getting these implants. The drug
Company has been out for over a month now.
That's what they are telling me.
The last I got, was Nov. 20. No problem then. I have no idea about right now. But since I started, in March 2012, it's never been a issue. First time, had to wait on insurance.
Funny you mention that. Apparently there must be a run on test because I could not get generic for my injection scrips. So they stuck me with the over priced brand name. Just wonder if this is because TRT is blowing up or is this being over regulated by somebody? There is not a generic for the pellets so doctors may just be prescribing the heck out of it.
I just received my first Testopel insertion. I am starting with a T of 146 at 45 years old. I researched all the treatments and asked many, many questions, deciding that Testopel would be the preferable treatment with less issues and side effects than the others. My doctor was very clear about the procedure, and that it could take up to a week or two for the ache at the injection site to wane. I'm on day two and as he suggested, it feels like I got kicked grad in the butt, but nothing Advil isn't helping with. As far as blood work, thy will check at 1 month, then again 1 week before the next insertion at 3 months (to start). He indicated that while many websites and blogs, etc. are claiming up to 6 months that the full effectiveness is usually 3-3.5 months only. He also said feeling the pellets under the skin is normal and usually has no discomfort. The insurance authorization was frustrating (1 month wait) but got past that. What I found most beneficial in talking through the options was that the pellets are time release as thy dissolve and simulate the functioning of the pituitary gland whereas the gels and shots, intensify the delivery. I don't have any illusions of a wonder drug as the body reacts differently depending on time of day, etc..
yes, that is what attracted me to the pellets initially as well. That and I was not too keen on shots and creams due to the horror stories about the 'spikes' the needle pokes and the messes. Unfortunately the pellets did not have that good of an effect on me and were ridiculously expensive (for minimal results) so I opted for the injections. I was very sore from the pellets for a few weeks after the insertion and I could always feel the pellets under my skin until they were gone. Hop[efully they work for you. Please post your new blood work results when you get them.
I had my bloodwork redone after about one month and my total test went from about 225 to 675 but i still feel no difference. I was told it will continue to increase so I am assuming i will redo bloodwork in another month. My bruising is all gone but i still have tenderness in my butt. For me, it is not worth the discomfort. I do not think I will do the pellets again. I will try the cream next.
My T was 184, basically in the toilet. My doctor gave me all the options, cream and or shots and Testopel. He advised Testopel and I said, give me the pellets! Was sore for a week and a half, felt like someone hit me in the butt with a baseball bat. About 3 weeks BAM i was feeling l like a teenager. Energy through the roof, wife said i had become a little smart ass too. Had my levels tested at 1 month... 650! This was with 12 pellets. Towards the very end of my 4th month cycle i could really tell the numbers were down. Had them tested right before the second procedure and it was around 230. Round two we rolled with 14 Pellets and I Didn't experience the big crash. Just had my 3rd round last week moving my placement a little higher in the hip region, simply because i don't have much butt fat. I'm 50 work out on a regular basis. Doc says levels usually level out around the 4th procedure reducing the valley effect, we'll see. I don't whine over the soreness like a lot of "men" a very small price to pay (IMO) not to have to remember to rub something on me every day (which by the way absorption rates are different for everyone) and run to and fro for a shot. So far so good for me.
I started on Androgel about 1.5 yrs ago with a level of 173, used that for about 2 months and told my Doc is was not working. She went with 100 ml shot once a month, explained how a week after the shot I was feeling like crap again, but she said 100 ml a month is the norm. So found a Doc who is a specialist in the area and she has me on .75 ml shot a week and I feel great. I am now doing my own shots and it's over in 5 mins. She also has me on 5mg Cialis daily for the erection issues, so no more complaints about erections. She is pushing me to go on pellets so going to try next week and if I start to get sluggish I will go back to the shots.
Good luck. I went the exact opposite way. Started on the pellets and am now on the shots. 1ml/week. I ml a month is ridiculous. I too was surrised how easy the shots were to give yourself. Good luck
Your results with testopel, same as mine. Just got my 4th round last Friday. Nothing but positve for me. I was in the 170 range. And 12 gets me to the 700+ range. Have lost about 15 pounds, without working out.
If I ever get around to it, have a gym membership, I know I will buiold up quick.
My knees no longer hurt, I have more energy, libido is super. More regular also. Doc can't explain that one. I figure is because everything is working as it once did.
53 years old, active
Glad to see its working for you. It has not been about 2 months for me on the implants and still nothing. In fact my appetite increased so i have gained weight. Im very disappointed. I am waiting for my blood work to return to see if it has gone up since the last test.
So I'm at approx. 1 month on the testopel (next week). The pain at the injection site lasted about 6 days and was good. I actually felt an increase in energy and drive within 3 days and have overall felt a continued energy and drive since. It has also helped lower anxiety some too (an added bonus). I have my first blood work next week. It will be interesting to see how much the T level has increased. I have not had any side effects to date. Stay tuned.
I just had my second testopel treatment. The first time I was very sore and black and blue the size OD a dessert plate! Very sore and tender for weeks. It gave me a high libido but not at the right time!? This I found annoying. My level started about 150 and rise to around 1275! That was on 12 pellets. This last time the doctor said my t level went too high so he only put 10 pellets in. He didn't like it that high. So far this time I'm sore but no bruising like the last time. Thank God for that. Doctor told me each pellet should raise the T level around 200 points give or take. I don't mind the sex drive I just wish I could perform when I need it too. Hopefully this time things will be better. I do feel that when the pellets wear off they wear off quickly. Mine only lasted for about 3 months. I'm 48 and miss the good old days!
