Lisa,
Lisa that is so very true.Sadly these employers hold the edge over us poor working folk that depend on a paycheck to put a roof over our heads and feed the family. The power desparagy between the haves and the have nots are truly repulsive.
Tell her to shut her mouth! That is your private business and Yes you can be fired. They can say it was for something else. Believe me! It happened to me.
this happen to me all I had to do is show them that a doctor gave them to you they wont fire you because that is your meds.
You can't sue your wife, it is is true. Your employer may or may not be able to fire you after they receive proof that you are being treated for drug addiction. If you are asked to provide proof and you don't, they can fire you for not providing proof.
You should tell your employer you are on Suboxone for nerve damage. I was prescribed it for pain and it works great. They use it in Europe for pain all the time. Naloxone is Suboxone without the blocking of opiates. You could even tell your work your on Naloxone.
Bud,
That's not the issue.Despite being prescribed by a licensed practitioner for the treatment of opiate addiction, which is a legit and valid course of treatment. The employer may claim insubordination for failure to provide timely proof of medications that MAY impair or compromise the sanctity of the workplace.Ive seen many cases like this and the company always prevails since plausible deniability is not a guarantee to the "employment contract " as such.Im no attorney but have reviewed several findings that hold to this principal.
Ps: for those who invoke the ADA ,It is not applicable in this circumstance .
And if you live in certain states your employer can fire you for ANYTHING they want. Including making something up! I live in cali and it just happened to a friend. And it was actually descrimination but nobody who worked there would stand up because they need their jobs.
Contact your local congress rep. Tell them your story
First of all, you absolutely can sue your wife if she's doing this to cause damages. I'd have an attorney send her a cease & desist letter immediately.
If you have a legitimate perscription for subs, why would you be fired? The only thing that I'd worry about is if you're not doing your job or letting things fall through the cracks. Unless your work is poor , that would be like firing a person who was good at their job because they are on chemo medication for cancer.
One person here already pointed out you can be fired any time for anything, but unless you've given your employer a reason to let you go, I don't think you should worry. Your wife, on the other hand, needs a muzzle and a baseball bat to her head. What a wench.
