Family Doctor Who Will Prescribe Pain Medication In South Jersey

I live in southern New Jersey. I am currently prescribed roxicoden 30 mg, every 4 hrs. My family doctor has been prescribing them for me for the last 4 years. Due to new laws, she can no longer prescribe them. I'm having a hard time finding someone who will take my insurance. I have NJFamily Care.

I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations, no PCP will be able to prescribe that for you. You'll need to see a pain management specialist.

Is there a chance your current doctor may be able to refer you to someone?

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

Unfortunately, I'm still looking. I've been in severe pain & haven't even gotten to really enjoy my daughter's the last couple of months. If anything changes, I'll update & if u find one, I would really appreciate it if u could let me know. Thanks.

Did you ever find a new doctor. I'm in the same boat. My doctor cut me off after 5 years. Don't know what to do. Withdrawals are horrible. Going to the streets are a last resort. This all stemmed from a car accident. Don't know what to do. I need some type of relief. Its driving me crazy

well my doctor was forced to retier---iam 66 and have plenty things wrong cancer # 1 and all kinds of back problems---i been on oxy 80's for over 5 years---i been to 5 doctors in south jersey ---because of all the friging kids taking pain meds we have to suffer---i saved a few to hold me--- but that will end real soon but looks like i just cant fine a doctor---any ideas---iam in toms river--- have no idea what to do---been out of the game for 20 years----

I'm pretty sure Dr. Eddie Santiago had his license revoked in July 2014 for at least 3 years for writing too many/bogus prescriptions.

I have 2 bad knees ,back ,hip and now Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I cant get up in morning because pain is so bad. The docs I have been going to have written prescription for 3 plus years and now because of all the abuse will not write any longer...mind you what they gave me was never enough but with these meds you are treated like a drug addict so I would deal. I need a docs and is will to travel a bit how writes oxycodone..i am in the Holmdel area but will travel can anyone help.

There's a pain dr in toms river nj, his name is Dr Coplin. He will prescribe for you. He's a very caring dr . Must have legit problems and legit test results like mri's. He is on hospital dr by community medical center.

Coplin will not take new patients.im in ocean county as well, 100% legit just had neck surgery and sic of being treated like a p.o.s when i call around

I live in ocean county just a stones throw from toms river ( brick twp. ) Sadly since the beginning of the month ( Jan 03,2017 ) It has become even harder to aquire a legit rx for an opiate/opiod containing pain medication.From reports I've heard only providersspecializing in pain medicine may provide a limited amount of these scheduled narcotics ( csn ) but ONLY FOR SHORT TERM. ACUTE PAIN RELIEF. All others are going the way of interventions pain management . The only exception are those with a defined end stage diagnosis. I wish I had better news to report but reality is opiates are being ushered out because of the liability that accompanies its use.

That's NOT TRUE ! It is up to the provider . I've been on pain meds for ten yrs and even with the new laws on effect you can still get pain meds from your primary Dr as well as pain management.

I pray that is still the case for you. My wife's Dr just decided they are no longer prescribing and now we are desperately trying to find someone. She has been on these medications for over 20 years now so her dose is high, but has never had an issue with failing a drug panel, random pill counts, or anything but none of that matters. Now we are searching for a doctor knowing the most likely outcome is going to be us becoming criminals in order to save her life. Great job DEA! I hope every single one of you clowns develop a severely painful, long tern, condition and receive zero help thanks to your work.

Please, someone help! This has been excruciating thus far. I am in need of a legit pain management Doc in south jersey. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, diabetic neuropathy, carpal tunnel, lupus, ra, & other anti-inflammatory diseases. After the new laws, my Doc can no longer write my scripts. I'm new to the world of pain management. My life is falling apart while I search for an MD only to help me. Can anyone please help?

It's tough all over as far as getting pain pills. Especially oxy and opana. They can cut you off for any reason nowadays. I used to get 30's when there wasn't even anything wrong with me. The reason I was getting prescribed was that I had an MRI and xrays to back up my claims of being hurt. My continued prescriptions were not for pain but to keep me out of wds. This went on for at least 3 years. The fun was over when I was caught drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and having an unprescribed narcotic in me during an unrelated ER visit. I am now going to a suboxone clinic where my addiction continues.

I been through 6 failed lower back operations damage nerve scar tissue on nerve 5 deterioration disc upper back 3 severe multiple bone spurs sticking me in my nerves and 2 bulging disc in my neck and my new pain doc that's in vineland wants to lower me to 1 40mg oxycontin and 1 20mg a day OH HELL NO I will be going to Delaware and try pain management new jersey is out there mind they do NOT CARE about us cronic pain suffers

She has chosen not to continue prescribing pain meds. The new laws give each Dr the choice to do so or not.
